No. In fact, I left mine at 0 to start this campaign. I am still under the impression that "good contact" in real life is a matter of just a few centimeters. When I go 400 foot Bingo on a guy, I want it to be because I waited on the that slider, or I did a good enough job taking the pitches out of the strike zone, that I am now sitting on that 3-1 Fastball and crush it.

One of the great parts about this game and the sliders is that if you want to, you can really tilt the game into punishing your stupid mistakes, and rewarding you for smart play.

With Solid Hits at Zero, you know any extra base hit and any well struck ball is all your doing and not the CPU using a sliding scale to decide the outcome.

Stick with it at 0 and you'll see a much better variety of hits. Choppers, dribblers, balls bounced off the plate and so high that you can't do a thing about them... It is almost as if the lower the solid hits slider, the smaller the sweet spot on the bat becomes.

If that is the way it indeed works, then another round of kudos for a job well done.

You still see all that with Solid Hits higher.

Reducing Contact and Timing decreases your "sweet spot" as well, and leads to a wide variety of hit physics.

It's about finding the perfect balance.

          Game #15 of the Season

          Texas(CPU) 1 @ Boston(ME) 3

The Red Sox capitalized on a fielding error by Ian Kinsler that prolonged the 2nd inning as the next batter was Jason Varitek and he promptly hit 3-run HR into the bullpen and put up 3 unearned runs against Tommy Hunter. Josh Beckett started for Boston and carried a no hitter into the 6th inning before the Rangers finally started to get some hits and generate some offense, Beckett was flat out nasty in this game and finished with 9 K's. The Rangers had runners on 2nd and 3rd in the top of the 8th w/ Josh Hamilton coming up - Francona pulled Beckett and brought in Okajima for the lefty lefty matchup, Hamilton ripped a fly ball deep into the gap in right center field but J.D. Drew made a full speed running catch to end the inning and preserve the lead. Neftali Feliz was filthy and damn near unhittable out of the Ranger bullpen - easily the toughest guy I have faced so far. Jonathan Papelbon came on for the 9th and struck out Vlad Guerrero, Nelson Cruz and Ian Kinsler to K the side for the save.

Re: TNKNGM MLB10 All-Star Realism Sliders

Well, I am going to nickname Papelbon the new Cardiac Kid, because this guy is teetering on the edge of losing his closing job to Scott "The Lefty Assassin" Schoenweiss.

Game 2 against the Yankees again started with some frost on the field at a chilly 38 degrees, and add to it a 16mph wind blowing out to right, the hot chocolate sales certainly helped the concessions.

Lester versus Vasquez and both pitchers had some good stuff early. Curtis Granderson got the scoring started with a 2 run job over the bullpen, and Lester was in a 4th inning hole.

J.D. Drew got the Sox on the board with a triple high off the Monster to score Pedroia from first, and Marco Scutaro grounded to Cano to bring Drew in and tie the game in the 6th.

It would stay that way with both pitchers working out of jams, and Scotty Scho striking out the side in the 7th and allowing just a soft single in the 8th. Finally, in the bottom of the 8th, David Ortiz broke out of an 0'fer the season slump with a towering, wind-riding blast that broke the tie.

Paps comes on in the 9th and immediately gives up a single, walks the next batter, then after a Jeter pop-up for the first out, he gets Nick Johnson on a nasty 2-seamer, and there are two on and two outs.

I call for the intentional walk to A-Rod and for whatever reason, the Yankees have Marcus Thames hitting clean up???

Thames pops up into foul territory with the bases jammed, and Papelbon escapes again with a 3-2 win.

Another nail biter, and for game three, Tek and Lowell get the nod, and we'll see if new acquisition John Lackey can lead the Sox to the sweep.

                Game #17 of the Season

                Baltimore(CPU) 8 @ Boston(ME) 4

The Red Sox are playing bad baseball right now and need to turn it around. Jeremy Guthrie was excellent as the Orioles had an 8-1 lead in the 8th inning when Kevin Youkilis hit a 3-run HR to make it an 8-4 ballgame. The Red Sox now have a record of 9-8 on the season and need to get it together in a hurry.

Hey these sliders are pretty good, but do you use the left stick when hitting?

I use the left stick to locate the bat to the pitch.

Example - If I have a RH hitter up and the pitch is on the low outside corner - I press down and right on the left stick while swinging

                      Baltimore(CPU) 2 @ Boston(ME) 3

John Lackey was strong for Boston. The Orioles were able to get solo HR's from Roberts and Reimold and that was it. Mike Lowell had a key 2-run double for Boston. Daniel Bard and Jonathan Papelbon slammed the door shut for the Red Sox to pick up the victory.

Tim Wakefield continues to struggle and will now move to the bullpen as Daisuke Matsuzaka willl return and take Wakefield's spot in the rotation. The Red Sox offense needs to get going as they are under performing so far this season. Matt Weiters was 4 for 4 with 4 doubles in the game for the Orioles.

Kevin Gregg was able to close it out in the 9th as he got Jacoby Ellsbury to line into a double play on a hit and run and end the game.

Tim Wakefield is AWFUL in this game. If I used the Sox I would get rid of him.
