Just curious as to why you have fielder reaction set to 10? to me, this would cut down 2Bs down the line, gappers, shots over the heads,etc...is this backwards or somethin'? elaborate on this please...thanks

      Psycho,

Have you noticed any differences using Knights roster set? Currently I am 7-0 in Spring Training, hitting .326 and I have an ERA of 2.54. Was wondering what your thoughts were.

im not sure how much I like these sliders, it seems frustrating like im not really controlling whats going on. They'll be innings where my contact is solid and timing is perfect and ill be out more often than not. Then Ill be off a little bit on a pitch and hit it for a HR. I know this is how real baseball is too, but i wanna feel like im actually having an effect on the game, not just going through the motions to get to a predetermined statistical amount of hits.

Ive only played franchise games with these sliders and its been pretty frustrating. Im gonna try to maybe play with default sliders and see if im still getting the same time of feeling from the games. Im not sure if my complaints are due to the actual nature of the game, or these sliders, I need to play more to find out.

Im having a blast with these as my only issue with default was solid hits .
I pitch with classic so i just raised pitcher Consistency to 8 .
I also lower pitch speed which is a great fix if you start getting to good.
And once again play a bunch of games before you start judging them as the really go full circle .
          A+ this year Pbulk

i've been using these for about a week now and I am having a lot of trouble with the amount of extra base hits or lack thereof. In 10 games, I only have two doubles while the cpu had 8 in one game against me. I use Classic pitching. Is there any adjustments for Classic pitching or should I give meter a try?

what was your reasoning behind putting solid hits down to zero?

sigh, another meatball with perfect timing for a ground ball double play. This time with my hottest hitter in the bottom of the 8th with no outs and the go ahead run on 1st

if you look at a teams' ups and downs over the course of a season, a seven game stretch like that is nowhere near out of the realm of possibility

just through the first week of the real MLB season, San Francisco is hitting .348 or something and Tampa Bay is near that too. There are also about 8 teams with team ERAs less than 2.99.

I would say just relax and keep playing, lol. That's one of the problems with sliders, people are so over anxious to adjust sliders after every game or handful of games.

MLB averages are just that....AVERAGES. When real life stats say that MLB average is .265 for a team, that means there's teams that are above that, below that, and within each of those teams there's fluctuations from game to game week by week and month to month. It's not like a team hits and pitches to their average every single game or every single week.

I am like a repeating record, but sliders are just skill level tweaks for the User. Don't blame the sliders if the game is too easy or too hard. Just tweak them as necessary. It's not like sliders activate hidden code to make the game play with realistic stats.

What I do first is figure out which difficulty level gives me the best overall feel over a large sample size of games which will give me competitive games where I can win and lose without it feeling too hard or too easy.

After that, you can start fine tuning the sliders for an even better and more balanced experience.

If it was already mentioned, I guess I overlooked it (having to skim rather quickly as there are literally thousands of posts in the various threads that I am trying to read through on this site), but what settings were being used with these sliders - Is both batting and pitching view set to catcher? Also, were these sliders being used with classic or meter pitching?

                      Tks

I understand that, but it looks like the centerpiece of these sliders is solid hits being 0... What exactly does the solid hits slider do? Does it make you hit the ball harder when you get good contact, or does it just make you get better contact?

Edit: Ok i just read the description in another thread. So basically the solid hits slider has nothing to do with grounding out on a meatball pitch with perfect timing if I am reading it correctly. Not saying this shouldnt happen (as it does in real life), but as a user preference I would like to tweak the sliders to give me more of a reward for waiting on a good pitch and hitting it perfectly...

It will make you hit the ball harder but you still need good contact to get a real solid hit.
I tried the solid hits slider at 0 for a little while but didn't like it. My hitting is so awful in this game right now even with it at 5 I don't get a lot of screaming liners. The CPU though..........yeeeesh. My pitching really needs to get a lot better.
I have 4 of my 5 starting pitchers on the DL with stiff necks from turning too quicky watching their pitch sail over the fence. Not really but it sometimes feels that way.

                            Raise your timing slider.

If my timing is already 'perfect' though, that wouldnt help either right? Im thinking id have to raise contact or maybe just power?

Your timing could be perfect but you still need to put the fat part of the bat on the ball. I find this year is a lot harder to hit the ball with the sweet spot of the bat.
Many times I've had perfect timing but swung either just over or under a pitch, resulting in an easy out.
I would say tinker with contact and/or timing and see what gives you the results you are looking for.
