Does it matter what level you play on with these?

Re: *****The 'Perfect' Slider Set***** MLB 10 - The Show
I played 4-5 games on these and there is absolutely no offense for me or the CPU. The CPU hit one home run off me and it was when I badly messed up on the pitching meter.
I hit a few homers but other than that it was mostly line drives right at an outfield or a weak ground ball. Outside of hitting HR's I rarely scored a run. The CPU never scored over three runs against me, I think the most I scored was 5 one game.
The PCI feedback didn't make much sense, not sure if that's the sliders or just changes in '10. I'd have a lot of "meatball/good" swings that were weak ground balls or a pop up here and there. I'm not sure I like the feel of hitting in '10 as much as I did in '09.
I did like that there were a lot of walks and a lot of strike outs (probably too many K's due to the inept offense)."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

Yeah these sliders really dumb down the offense and max the defense and pitching. The only way I can hit homers with these is with power swings.Comment

Re: *****The 'Perfect' Slider Set***** MLB 10 - The Show
These have worked out great for me...I just had a 6-3 win with my A's over the Mariners...HRs for Kurt Suzuki and Travis Buck - neither of which are HR hitters...Suzuki's was even opposite field...had a lot of bloops and choppers as well...good stuff...Comment

Edit: By me pointing this out, all I am getting at it is often some small tweak for each user that achieves the "sweet spot" for gameplay results, provided the game engine is good. Just be thankful this isn't 2K where sliders have to try and save the game. Been there done that.GATEWAY TO GREATNESS: 2010 CARDINALS FRANCHISE

Re: *****The 'Perfect' Slider Set***** MLB 10 - The Show
lovin' the set... but i'm yet to hit a homer with them. I'm tearin' a strip off the ball contact wise, but when it comes to anything with carry I'm a little short. I like to consider myself a bit of a veteran at this game, and I'm sure with more work the ball will go my way. Nevertheless great sliders!Comment

Re: *****The 'Perfect' Slider Set***** MLB 10 - The Show
the only changes i've made are putting solid hits to 1 and power to 7....i love the way these play! I've found my favourite method of pitching is turning the strike zone and the pitch marker off and just relying on the vibration, i'm allowing walks and making location mistakes and it feels much less pinpoint, even with the meter!
edit: i took solid hits down to 1 as I hit the first 4 homeruns of my season (game 5) in one game....have only hit 1 since (4 games!)Last edited by richinspirit; 04-16-2010, 09:50 AM.Currently playing MLB 23

Re: *****The 'Perfect' Slider Set***** MLB 10 - The Show
No changes in the pipeline yet from me folks, they are playing fine, all the numbers stack for me, if they dont for you then either move up/down a level or tweak a certain slider to your individual abilities.

Re: *****The 'Perfect' Slider Set***** MLB 10 - The Show
They do play out perfectly, but it takes a lot of games. I've had such variety and have not seen any sort of problem. People expect sliders to work perfectly after 1 game and expect the game to be perfectly average. It takes a long time, especially in baseball, for numbers to average out. These sliders are perfect for me.Comment
