I was hitting ~.350 with these sliders on All-Star. So I changed the batting difficulty up 1 and started a new Franchise, and Im still hitting like .315. (Around 20 games) Guess Ill try the max difficulty. Might make it tough drawing walks. I guess we'll see.

Hey, trying to play catch up here without going through all the posts.
Are you all using default sliders or a variation of the Perfect sliders?
Can someone post what is working?
Thanks!St.Louis Rams/Houston Astros fanComment

Re: *****The 'Perfect' Slider Set***** MLB 10 - The Show
psycho, these sliders are great!
only thing, u should put an asterik next to USER POWER & CONTACT set at Default, stating, 'except for yankees'.
lol
i had to drop those down to 3/3 due to those power bats.
its still amazing how well this plays with minimal slider tweaks.Comment

Re: *****The 'Perfect' Slider Set***** MLB 10 - The Show
I've been using these sliders, although they are mostly default, but with contact at 3 and solid hits at 1. I've noticed so far most games are low scoring. Are you guys getting the occasional 12-10 game on All-Star?Comment

Re: *****The 'Perfect' Slider Set***** MLB 10 - The Show
any suggested tweaks for someone who plays with these changes:
1. classic pitching only.
2. i never use the left stick.
3. i rarely use the right stick (only if i am bunting or a hit and run)
4. i use guess pitch in this manner. Count even or behind: no guess pitch; Ahead one ball: guess location only; Ahead two balls+: guess location and pitch type
I am 34 games into my Pirates franchise (I used the team that I traded for in last season's show so it barely resembles the Pirates). Here is what I am seeing:
1. My team sucks and I am 14-20
2. My team average is about .250
3. I can get hits, but I can't string them together. I am 25th in runs.
4. I am the last five in: doubles, triples, homers, rib's, slugging and obp.
I can't seem to get extra base hits. It feels like my whole team has warning track power and every ball hit hard is either right to someone or is tracked down by an outfielder.
5. I am 29th in walks, but only 10 behind 19th
6. I am top 5 is fewest strike outs
7. I ground into a **** load of double plays
8. I am between 15th and 20th in every major pitching category except HR allowed, SO and BB where I am in the top 10 of each.
Any thoughts?NCAA: Pitt, Arkansas State

Re: *****The 'Perfect' Slider Set***** MLB 10 - The Show
Ok guys, the first (and perhaps only) tweak. After completing my own 30 game test franchise and recording all the numbers, i had in my mind what needed changing. Having then seen some of the responses on here from you guys' experiences, it only backed up the changes i thought were needed (amd a special thanks to TripleThreat1973 for his excellent statistical analysis, plus also the likes of ParisB and chdaughter on other threads, there really has been great teamwork in the slider forum this year)
The changes explained...
Solid Hits from 0 to 2; simply put there are slightly too few extra base hits over the long run, not many, they are still there, they just need a small increase, and with it at 0 slightly too many balls that are centred that go nowhere. This will help with a slight increase in runs per game which, over the long haul, has been a little bit too low.
Pitcher Control/Consistency both down; again, just taking a bit of power away from the pitchers and giving to the hitter, but again, only 1 on each, a very small tweak, major changes really arent needed.
Fielder Arm Strength down from 4 to 3; same reasoning as above, too many OF'ers with average arms in real life gunning people down too often, it should happen of course and still will, just not as often, but at 3 the great OF arms like Francoeur/Ankiel etc are still very good.
Last change is the global one, of injury frequency, at default i find DL's across the league way too busy, only 30 games into my test chise and most teams have 2/3 men out, lots on long term issues, this is too much, so a move to 3 should help keep injuries to realistic levels.
Right, enough waffle, here they are, v3.2, and with that im off to start my real franchise.
Good luck, long term feedback of course appreciated!
Cheers.

Re: *****The 'Perfect' Slider Set***** MLB 10 - The Show
Great stuff mate, I know Psycho uses meter, for you classic users i would keep it at 6 control, 6 consistency. I have done 30 or so games with psychos 3.1 with 6 and 6, using classic pitching and the bb/k ratio is solid. just a suggestion
