Re: TNK & PsychoBulk ***The Perfect Slider Set 2011 Edition***

I've been hitting better and I want to say I think the main reason is that I bumped pitching confidence (for human and cpu) down to 5. I think making the CPU over confident at pitching is a bad thing because then you keep getting struckout and keep struggling during the game.

Just thought I'd throw that out there. Since I did that, I've had 5 home-runs in 2 games and a 1-1 record. I would have won both but I left my SP in too long and he got rocked in the 7th inning.

I know it's short to make a good assessment but I think that's something worth looking at for people that are struggling with batting.

I have Fielding Errors at 10 and Throwing at 7. I'm curious as to how you define "too many errors." My rates are pretty spot-on with those of the MLB, other than the glitch errors I get from the Catcher, but then those should just be ignored.

There is no slider for Pitcher Confidence

Did you mean Pitcher Control or Pitcher Consistency?

I use auto fielding and throwing decisions on so that attributes will play more of a role and this is probably the reason I am getting different results. I have seen to many throwing errors occur and a bit to many fielding errors so I had to bump both of them down one. Other than that these sliders are playing great, just had an extra inning 12 hit game on both sides with zero home runs.

Pitcher Consistency affects a pitcher's confidence, so I think that's what he meant.

You're probably right. I really wish there were independent sliders for CPU errors and human errors, because the CPU doesn't ever make nearly as many errors as a human does with manual fielding settings.

Consistency controls confidence and in my opinion 6 is way too high for cpu consistency, robo-pitcher shows up very quickly @ 6.

The Twins come in to Boston and take game #1 of the 4 game series by a score of 10-4. The Twins beat Clauy Buchholz around pretty good and were led by Danny Valencia who was 3 for 4 with a double, HR and 5 RBI.

                  TNK - RED SOX FRANCHISE

                  Game #34 of The Season

The Red Sox got a solo HR form Carl Crawford, his 4th of the season and an RBI single from Kevin Youkilis to take an early 2-0 lead. The Twins tied the score at 2-2 in the top of the 4th when Delmon Young crushed a hanging curve from Josh Beckett over the green monster. Boston loaded the bases in the bottom of the 4th and Dustin Pedroia laced an RBI single to LF that scored 2 runs to make it 4-2 Red Sox after 4 innings. Josh Beckett had retired 9 straight batters until Jim Thome crushed a solo HR over the bullpens in RF in the top of the 7th and knocked Beckett from the game, Dan Wheeler came on to get the final out of the inning with Boston holding on to a 4-3 lead. The Sox extended their lead on an RBI single by Adrian Gonzalez to make it 5-3. The Twins batted around in the top of the 8th as Daniel Bard imploded and the Twins put up 6 runs all on base hits and a crucial error by Dustin Pedroia on a double play ball that would have ended the inning and suddenly the Twins had a 9-5 lead. The Twins would hold on for the 9-5 win and have taken the first two games of this series on the road.

I don't like the amount of offense you're opponents are getting lately...

                      Are you being funny?

I hope you don't think I'm going to adjust sliders because I got knocked around pretty good for a couple games. I'm actually glad - I don't mind my bullpen blowing up or a starter getting rocked every now and then.

We'll see what happens in the next few games

Ok, i've always used Zone hitting and have loved it but i switched to Timing when TNK did and i have played roughly 5 games which isnt near enough to determine anything. Anyway, I'm having a hard time hitting on timing compared to Zone. I'm avging 14 K's per game batting, lol. Jacob Turner for Detroit K'd me 18 times. Its because on Timing a lot of times when i swing at pitches i normally would hit on Zone i'm fouling off or completely missing on Timing. For example when i look at the swing after i miss or foul one off the yellow circle may be up and in when the pitch was on the outside corner or low and in the middle. Usually i would push down and hit it but since the yellow circle is high and in i miss it or foul it off which puts me in the hole and i am K'ing a lot more because of that. So, with that being said i'm not liking the Timing compared to zone but again i have only played 5 games or so and i def need to play a lot more to determine which is best for me. Just my 2 cents!

Sounds like timing and zone are just 2 different games in themselves. Timing has it's advantages though. If you have a good hitter and accidently swing at a bad pitch he'll have his PCI in that area to at least foul it off. I definitely see where you guys are coming from because I still get upset when I get a perfect timing and foul a pitch off in the zone.

@TNK no worries guy. Sorry I took what you said wrong. Hard to understand pitch/tone in words... my bad.

I had to raise the baserunner speed. had about 1-2 baserunners thrown out at 2nd on singles a game, and not the type of single to the outfield that might result in a FC.
