Pyscho have you noticed less human bloopers for base hits since you turned up solid contact to 4? I'm using timing like you. Today I went back to solid hits at 3 and keep the contact at 6, and noticed the hit variety was just right.

Re: TNK & PsychoBulk ***The Perfect Slider Set 2011 Edition***
Dude, i just wanted to say these are the best sliders i've ever used (been playing since mlb 09) i'm currently 10-6 with the braves and I can already tell that these are gonna work for me. I've spent the last few years switching sliders every 3-5 games, and being very annoyed (i know you really should give sliders about 30 games to really decide, but when you have four and five games in a row with the same score over and OVER...something is wrong!) This year the variations in my box scores are unreal...so unreal that the game actually feels REAL this year, and of course that's all we want, right? Why i know these sliders work?
1. variations in my box scores (i have already pitched 1 complete game shutout which i won 2-0, i've been shelled 12-3, i've won a blowout game 13-6, and i've also been shutout 1-0)
2. doubles (averaging just under 2 per game)
3. homeruns (22 as a team so far)
4. team batting average (.264)
5. i'm getting walks and striking out at a realistic pace ( i do have strike frequency at 0)
6. Dan Uggla is struggling hitting .212 for me right now (i know this doesn't really count but...uncanny right?)
I could go on but i just wanted to share my experience and say thanks for restoring actual enjoyment into this game, nothing has felt premeditated, and i have been using these sliders since game one and i haven't simmed one inning of any game...so there ya have it.Last edited by DevilsEve666; 05-29-2011, 10:06 PM.Comment

TNK - RED SOX FRANCHISE
Game #22 of The Season
The Angels got a run off Lackey in the 1st inning on an RBI single by Tori Hunter. Boston got even in the top of the 3rd on an RBI single by Jason Vartitek. Hank Conger hit a solo HR in the bottom of the 3rd to give LA the 2-1 lead. The Red Sox took the lead back in the 5th when Dan Haren hung a breaking ball that Carl Crawford turned on and crushed into the bleachers in RF for a 2-run HR to give Boston a 3-2 lead. John Lackey could not hold the lead as the Angels loaded the bases in the bottom of the 5th with 1 out and Tori Hunter tied it with a sac fly to LF that scored Conger to tie the game 3-3. Lackey allowed a walk and a hit to start the bottom of the 6th but Dan Wheeler came out of the pen to relieve Lackey and escaped the jam to keep the score tied 3-3 after 6 innings. The Angels loaded the bases in the bottom of the 7th but were unable to score as Franklin Morales pitched out of the jam. The Angels broke the tie in the bottom of the 8th as they loaded the bases with one out off of Morales, Daniel Bard came out of the bullpen to record a strikeout for the 2nd out. Tori Hunter was up next and laced a liner into the gap for a bases clearing double to give the Angels a 6-3 lead. Jordan Walden cam on to pitch the 9th and retired the Sox in order to record the save as the Angels win 6-3 and avoid being swept by the Red Sox.
The Red Sox place OF Darnell McDonald on 15 day DL and recall OF Josh Reddick from Pawtucket (AAA)

TNK - RED SOX FRANCHISE
Game #23 of The Season
The Red Sox head to Baltimore to for a 3 game set to close out their road trip. Adrian Gonzalez blasted a 2-run HR 416 feet to RF on a hanging curveball in the 1st inning to give the Sox a 2-0 lead. Clay Buchholz cruised through the first 4 innings before the O's got on the board in the 5th on a Luke Scott RBI single, Buchholz was able to escape the inning with runners at the corners. Adrian Gonzalez connected again in the top of the 6th for his 2nd HR of the game to make it 3-1. Derek Lee cut the Sox lead to 3-2 in the bottom of the 6th on an RBI double but Buchholz was able to get out of another jam to end the inning. Daniel Bard pitched a 1-2-3 8th inning to keep the score 3-2 heading into the top of the 9th. The Red Sox loaded the bases with 2 outs in the top of the 9th but were unable to get any insurance runs as Mike Gonzaelz got Jacoby Ellsbury to fly out to LF to end the inning. Jonathan Papelbon came on to pitch the bottom of the 9th and slammed the door with a perfect 1-2-3 9th innning as the Red Sox take game 1 of the series by a 3-2 score.

Re: TNK & PsychoBulk ***The Perfect Slider Set 2011 Edition***
Lookin' good for you TNK
Question to you and for others...
I'm having trouble with my timing on pretty much everything but the fastball (seems like the CPU throws this about 50% of the time each game). I was wondering if upping the human timing would allow for a little leeway if i swing too early on the slider/curve/change? Is that the slider I might want to mess around with?
Otherwise, I'm have great games. Just the 12-6 curve and slider seem to be killing my timing and I'm lucky to just foul it off.Comment

Re: TNK & PsychoBulk ***The Perfect Slider Set 2011 Edition***
Okay I stuck with these settings and Home Runs are still a big issue. Still getting at least 3 most games.
After 20 games Scutaro even has 5 home runs, so it goes well beyond the power guys simply being "hot".
The thing is virtually everything else is great. Average, walks, pitching, etc. I have no idea how I manage to crush so many mistake pitches, and get such skewed home run numbers with these settings......but it seems to be the case.
Since everything else is better than any other mode/slider set I've used, sticking with these seems to be my best chance to actually come up with an enjoyable/playable franchise.......so my question is:
What would be the best way to tweek the sliders to curb the HR total without potentially ruining the other game play elements?
Power would be obvious....but wasn't sure if I should try Solid Hits instead or simply try turning down the wind or something. Any insight is appreciated, as hopefully I can make a small tweek like that and have the results I'm looking for.Comment

Re: TNK & PsychoBulk ***The Perfect Slider Set 2011 Edition***
Has anyone tried pyschos slider adjustments for timing on veteran? Is there any glaring issues? I'm thinking strike cosistencey at 1 may be too low for vet. Things like that. Hitting will obviously be based on my skill.Comment

TNK - RED SOX FRANCHISE
Game #24 of The Season
The Orioles and Red Sox squared off in the 2nd game of a 3 game set and the Orioles held a 2-0 lead after 5 innings on RBI hits by Adam Jones and Jake Fox. Chris Tillman was out dueling Josh Beckett early as Tillman took a no hitter into the 6th inning before Josh Reddick finally gave the Red Sox their first hit of the game when he smoked a HR to RF in his first game action of the season to cut the deficit to 2-1. Dustin Pedroia just missed a solo HR to tie the game in the top of the 7th as the umps originally called it a HR but then reversed the call after a video review. Baltimore tacked on an insurance run in the bottom of the 8th to make it 3-1 and they turned it over to their closer Kevin Gregg for the top of the 9th. The Sox got the leadoff run on in the 9th when Reddick walked to begin the inning but Drew and Ellsbury stuck out and Gregg was able to get Pedroia to fly out to the warning track in CF to end the game and give the O's the 3-1 victory. A pathetic showing by the Boston bats as they managed just 1 hit in the ballgame.
I have decided to manually injure Daisuke Matsuzaka since he is done for the season in real life
The Red Sox place SP Daisuke Matsuzaka on 60-day DL (Elbow Surgery)
The Red Sox call up RP Scott Atchison form AAA Pawtucket
