Re: TNK - 2012 Realism Sliders Thread

What does solid hits set at 3 do? I have a very similar slider set (apart from hitting slider), where i have solid hits at 5. I'm having a bit too much doubles. 16 games into my season with the Red Sox and Im at 50 2B hits, but only 13 Homers.

Adjust frequency of line drives versus poor hits. If you shift slider to the right you'll increase line drives if to the left you'll increase popups and chopper.

        Looks good bro.

I'm trying allstar this year but still feel the CPU is very good overall. I am hitting the ball very well but it is either right at guys. I might get one or two hits, but then a pissrod right at a infielder for a dp or line drive out, not to mention the popups.

Re: TNK - 2012 Realism Sliders Thread

My two cents on a couole of things...

In regards to the comeback logic or one run games, if I notice trends starting to develop in a game, I mix it up. Do a mound visit, sub the pitcher out, intentionally walk the batter, hit the batter, just do SOMETHING to break the pattern. Most important though is CALL YOUR OWN GAME. It is my suspicion that if you are following your catchers advice, then you are falling right into the hands of the computer and their comeback. Mix it up.

Hitting...I watched a batting tutorial on YouTube by some guy named metal head or something that changed the way I think about hitting. Basically the most important thing in hitting is timing. If you get your timing down, you will be amazed at the hits you still get even if the PCI is off track

Second most important, narrow your strike zone. It gets too hard to focus on all nine zones at once, unless you need to protect with two strikes. My advice is to do BP and just focus on 2/3 of the strike zone...or six squares instead of nine. This makes it easier to concentrate more on timing and less on moving the PCI.

Oh, about the PCI, yes, I move it, BUT I start at the top of the zone. Why? Because then if there is a fastball high, I am already there and anywhere else I just adjust downward in the zone. And if just focusing on six zones, it is really basically only having to move the PCI straight down. Simplification. Work on timing.

So take your strikes that are not in you six zones. It's hard to layoff a strike, but if it is not in your zone, your timing will be off anyways, so just let it be and wait for one that you are ready for.

Oh one more thing, turn one hot/cold zone and hit to your hitters strengths ! Avoid blue zones if you can

Just my two cents, I feel that the confidence meter plays a much larger impact than in previous years. If your closer is coming into the game with his confidence meter only half full, he will probably end up getting shelled. You may want to switch him to a set up man until his confidence comes back around.

My suggest is to change camera until the center of the strike zone is facing the plate of the pitcher. This i've found useful CUZ i focus the plate When pitcher throw. After i learn this method I really enjoy and My rating of strikeout is fall down rapidly.

                    TNK - RED SOX FRANCHISE

TAMPA BAY RAYS @ BOSTON RED SOX
GAME #7 of the season (Pitching Matchup - David Price vs. Josh Beckett)

The Red Sox are back in Boston for their home opener as they begin a 4 game series with the Rays. The Red Sox put together some great at bats in the 1st inning highlighted by Pedroia who kept fouling off pitches in a 12 pitch AB but the Sox could not score despite forcing Price to throw 22 pitches in the 1st. The Rays threatened in the top of the 2nd inning after Keppinger doubled but then was thrown out at the plate trying to score on a single by Sean Rodriguez as Darnell McDonald made a great throw to the plate and the game remained scoreless. The Boston offense went to work in the bottom of the 2nd inning as Mike Aviles drove in 2-runs with a double into the gap in RF to give the Sox a 2-0 lead after 2 innings and just as importantly they had David Price up to 45 pitches through 2 innings. Josh Beckett was dealing in the top of the 4th as he struck out the side, Price labored through the 4th inning but retired the side as the Sox kept putting qulaity at bats together and had Price pitch count up to 80 through 4 innings. The Rays the game in the top of the 5th as Jose Molina delivered an RBI single and Desmond Jennings doubled to drive in a run and make it 2-2 with nobody out. Josh Beckett left the game with an injury and the Rays had the bases loaded with 0 outs, but Vicente Padilla came out of the pen and escaped the jam as he worked a pop up and then struck out Pena and Upton back to back to end the inning. Price had his curveball working in the bottom of the 5th as he fanned the side and the game was tied 2-2 heading into the 6th. Tampa jumped ahead 3-2 in the top of the 6th as Jose Molina delivered his 2nd RBI single of the game. Padilla sat down the Rays in order in the top of the 7th as he did a tremendous job out of the pen. Kevin Youkilis singled to lead off the bottom of the 7th and Joe Maddon would remove Price and turn to Burke Badenhop out of the bullpen and he would get out of the inning to send the game to the 8th with Tampa leading 3-2. Franklin Morales pitched his way out of a jam in the top of the 8th as he struck out Rodriguez looking with 2 men on base to end the inning. Darnell McDonald worked a leadoff walk to begin the bottom of the 8th, stole 2nd and then was moved over to 3rd by Aviles who grounded out to 2nd base. Bobby Valentine brought up Jarrod Saltalamacchia to pinch hit for Shoppach with McDonald at 3rd and 1 out and Saltalamacchia came through with a sac fly to CF to score McDonald and tie the game 3-3. Ellsbury walked with 2 outs but was picked off to end the inning and the game would go to the 9th tied at 3-3. Mark Melancon came on to pitch the top of the 9th and issued a walk to Jennings, Longoria came up with 2 outs and crushed a rocket off the green monster to setup runners at the corners, the Red Sox brought on their closer Alfredo Aceves with 2 outs to face Carlos Pena and Aceves got Pena to fly out to CF ending the threat. The Red Sox came up in the bottom of the 9th and Pedroia came within an inch of ending it on the 1st pitch from JP Howell as he crushed a hanging curve to LF that just stayed in the park for a leadoff double. Adrian Gonzalez was up next and lined out for the 1st out, he was followed by Youkilis who grounded out for the 2nd out to bring up David Ortiz and Howell sturck out Big Papi to end the inning an send it to extra innings. Aceves got through the top of the 10th as he got Rodriguez to pop out with Keppinger stranded at 2nd base. The Red Sox stranded Cody Ross at 2nd base in the bottom of the 10th and the game would move to the 11th. Aceves remained in for the top of the 11th and pitched out of trouble after Zobrist doubled and the score would remain 3-3 to give the Sox a chance to win it in the bottom of the 11th as they would have the top of the order coming up but Howell retired the side in order to send the game to the 12th inning. Scott Atchison relieved Aceves for the top of the 12th and overcame an error when he bobbled a chopper to the mound but rebounded to get through the inning. Joel Peralta came on from the Tampa pen to pitch the bottom of the 12th and pitched out of trouble after David Ortiz doubled and we would go to the 13th inning tied 3-3. Atchison got Jennings to ground into a 6-4-3 double play to end the top of the 13th. The Red Sox got a single from Saltalamacchia with 1 out in the bottom of the 13th, Ellsbury grounded out but moved Salty to 2nd base with 2 outs for Pedroia and he ended the game in style as Peralta left a slider up in the zone and Pedroia launched it over the green monster for a game winning 2-run walkoff HR to give the Sox a thrilling 5-3 victory. WHAT A GAME!!!!

                    * Josh Beckett left the game in the 5th but is listed as day to day and is expected to make his next scheduled start.

                      TNK - RED SOX FRANCHISE

TAMPA BAY RAYS @ BOSTON RED SOX
GAME #8 of the season (Pitching Matchup - Jeremy Hellickson vs. Clay Buchholz)

The Red Sox took an early 1-0 lead after Dustin Pedroia tripled into the triangle in CF and he was driven home on an RBI gorund out by Adrian Gonzalez. Jose Molina hit a hanging curveball from Buchholz into the monster seats for a solo HR to tie the game 1-1 leading off the 3rd inning. Hellickson pitched out of trouble in the bottom of the 3rd as the Red Sox stranded 2 men on base. Buchholz and Hellickson were both pitching well as the game was tied 1-1 heading into the 6th inning. Boston grabbed a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the 6th as Adrian Gonzalez put together a great at bat as he fought off a few tough pitches with 2 strikes and got a fastball out over the plate and drove it opposite way over the green monster for his 1st HR of the season. Kevin Youkilis was up next and drew a walk but Hellickson was able to strike out Ortiz to end the 6th inning with Boston leading 2-1 as we headed for the 7th. Buchholz retired the side in order in the top of the 7th as he fanned Scott & Keppinger and got Rodrgiuez to ground out. Burke Badenhop pitched a 1-2-3 bottom of the 7th for Tampa and we would move on to the 8th inning with Boston holding on to a 2-1 lead. Buchholz remained in the game for the top of the 8th and retired pinch hitter Matt Joyce on a round out & Desmond Jennings on a ground out for the 1st two outs bringing up Ben Zobrist. Zobrist turned on a changeup and crushed the ball down the RF line but missed a HR by inches as it was just foul, Zobrist drove the next pitch deep to CF but Ellsbury was able to track it down on the run to end the inning and preserve the 2-1 lead. Mike Aviles led off the bottom of the 8th and got a fastball in a full count and blasted it into the monster seats for a solo HR to extend the Boston lead to 3-1. Jacoby Ellsbury was up next and doubled to RF, Pedroia sac bunted Ellsbury over to 3rd base and then Adrian Gonzalez was intentionally walked to setup runners at the corners with 1 out. Kevin Youkilis was up next and he did his job as he hit a fly ball deep enough to CF to allow Ellsbury tag up and score making it 4-1. Alfredo Aceves came on to pitch the 9th in the save opportunity and allowed a leadoff single to Longoria but got Carlos Pena to ground into a 6-4-3 double play. BJ Upton came up next and Aceves struck him out to end the game and record his 2nd save as the Red Sox win 4-1.

                      * The Red Sox have taken the 1st 2 games of this 4 game set and have evened their record at 4-4 on the season

                      * Clay Buchholz pitched an outstanding ballgame as he gave the Red Sox 8 innings of 1 run work on the mound on a day when the bullpen needed some rest after yesterdays 13 inning affair.

You should be pitching all over......inside, outside, high, low and everywhere in between

tnk for me fielder speed is perfect and compared to baserunner speed at 4 and arm strenght at 3 is a must but... do you ever thought to put fielder reaction less than 5??? for me the cpu react to much sooner than in reality, i saw a thread were they spoken about number 0 both Fspeed and reaction and people got satisfied results...
could it be balanced try a 3 in reaction?? did you ever tryed it??

I will tinker with it a little and check it out......I think 0 and 0 for both speed and reaction may be a bit extreme though

I've done matchs with field speed 1 and reaction 2 are a must in reality. For me is the perfect speed, it seems that infielder wait a moment like they are thinking before to act like in reality, i've seen such a fantastic play For outfielder like Missing strong lining ball how i never seen. However this Will vary corresponding the ability of fielder reaction. Perfect.
