Re: TNK - 2012 Realism Sliders Thread

The biggest difference between all-star and HOF I have seen is the variety in regards to how the CPU plays.

On all-star I always get the feeling the CPU is about to rip off a bunch of a runs or hits and come back if I have a lead.

It's totally different on HOF if I can get a bunch of runs the CPU struggles to battle back. It's not like the next inning they can put up 5 runs and get right back into the game.

There have also been games on HOF where the CPU has taken control of the game and I couldn't get anything going and lose like 9-2 or 9-4. I love the variety on HOF as far as the game scores go but the thing I don't like is the CPU BARELY misses the strike zone on balls. Almost all the balls the CPU throws are JUST off the plate. So my strikeouts have gone up a bunch on HOF but it's fun at the same time I think.

Believe I trailed in every game of that series early, but got things going in the middle-to-late innings. This puts them in 1st place (it's early... I know. lol) in the NL Central with a 1-game lead over the 4-3 St. Louis Cardinals, who they will play next at their house.

Carlos Marmol is a perfect 4-for-4 in saves opportunities, which ties him with JJ Putz for the NL lead.

Out of the 5 wins, only M. Garza is in the win column when it comes to the starters. The bullpen has been outstanding early in the season notching 4 wins (Wood, Castillo, Mateo, Camp). The Chicago offense has just not been able to manufacture any early run-support for the starting staff. No patience early in the game. lol

        B. Lahair leads the team in homeruns with 2. Soriano leads the team in doubles with 3, while T. Campana leads the team in triples with 2. Lahair and DeJesus lead the team in RBI with 5 each.

        Cubs are 19th in the MLB in hitting with a .230 batting average (I. Stewart: .240, S. Castro: .222, A. Soriano: .217).

The team ERA at 3.00, ties them from 9th in the MLB with the SF Giants. Garza has the lowest among the starters with a 1.38 ERA. Closer C. Marmol has not allowed a single run in his 4 appearances. The Cubs pitching staff is 5th in the MLB with 55 strikeouts. Dempster leads the team with 13, Garza is 2nd with 12, and reliever L. Castillo is 3rd with 7.

Off to play my old division foe, the St. Louis Cardinals.
Nice - glad you are enjoying them

            TNK - RED SOX FRANCHISE

BOSTON RED SOX @ MINNESOTA TWINS
GAME #17 of the season (Pitching Matchup - Josh Beckett vs. Anthony Swarzak)

The Red Sox and Twins square off in the 2nd game of this series as Josh Beckett takes the mound against Anthony Swarzak. The Red Sox jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the 2nd when Darnell McDonald doubled into the gap in right center to drive in Youkilis and Ortiz who had both singled. Beckett was sharp early and the score remained 2-0 heading into the 4th inning. The Twins had a chance in the bottom of the 4th after Mauer led off with a double and Mourneau drew a walk to give them 2 men on with nobody out but Beckett rebounded by striking out Doumit, Parmelee and Valencia to get out of the jam but he had to throw a lot of pitches in the inning. Both pitchers would make quick work of the opposing hitters in the 5th and the Red Sox would take their 2-0 lead into the 6th inning. Adrian Gonzalez hit a solo HR of Swarzak in the top of the extend the Sox lead to 3-0. Joe Mauer led off the top of the 6th for Minnesota and crushed a ball to deep center that was hauled in by Ellsbury as he made a great running catch just in front of the wall to rob Mauer of extra bases. Justin Mourneau followed and drew a walk but Beckett got Ryan Doumit to hit into a 4-6-3 double play to end the 6th and send the game to the 7th inning with Boston leading 3-0. Jared Burton relieved Swarzak to begin the 7th and got Ellsbury to ground out to end the inning with runners at the corners to keep the score at 3-0. Beckett continued to roll and made it 7 shutout innings as the score was still 3-0 as the game entered the 8th inning. Beckett came out to pitch the bottom of the 8th and gave up a leadoff single to Ben Revere but then came back to strike out Denard Spann for the 1st out and his night was done after throwing 111 pitches. Red Sox skipper Bobby Valentine went to his lefty Franklin Morales with Joe Mauer and Justin Mourneau coming up for Minnesota. Morales made a good pitch to Mauer on the outside corner but Mauer was able to take the pitch down the LF line for an RBI double to score Revere from 1st base and make it a 3-1 game. Mourneau grounded out to 1B for the 2nd out and that would bring up Doumit with 2 outs and Morales would get Doumit to ground out to end the inning and we would go to the 9th inning with Boston holding a 3-1 lead. Darnell McDonald picked up his 3rd RBI of the game in the top of the 9th as he clobbered a hanging curve from Alex Burnett for a solo HR to LF to extend the Red Sox lead to 4-1. Morales would remain on the hill to begin the bottom of the 9th to face lefty Chris Parmelee and got him to fly out for the 1st out. The Red Sox would then turn to their closer Alfredo Aceves and he would get Valencia to ground out for the 2nd out before allowing a bunt single to Casilla to bring up Nishioka looking to keep the Twins alive but Aceves would get Nishioka to pop out to SS to end the game as the Red Sox win 4-1.

            * The Red Sox have taken the 1st two games of this series on the road and will be looking for the sweep tomorrow as Clay Buchholz takes the mound against Nick Blackburn for the Twins.

            * Josh Beckett gave the Red Sox and excellent performance on the mound as he pitched into the 8th inning and allowed just 1 run while throwing 111 pitches.

              TNK - RED SOX FRANCHISE

BOSTON RED SOX @ MINNESOTA TWINS
GAME #18 of the season (Pitching Matchup - Clay Buchholz vs. Nick Blackburn)

The Red Sox are looking for the 3 game sweep on the road as they face the Twins in the final game of the series. Boston got off to a quick start as Jacoby Ellsbury and Ryan Sweeney went back to back off Nick Blackburn to start the game and make it 2-0. Minnesota answered back in the bottom of the 1st as Joe Mauer stroked an RBI double to CF to make it a 2-1 game after the 1st inning. Buchholz pitched out of troube in the bottom ofthe 2nd as he got Spann to ground out with 2 runners in scoring position to end the 2nd inning and the score would remain 2-1. Buchholz wiggled out of danger again in the bottom of the 3rd as he struck out Valencia with 2 men on to end the inning and Boston had a 2-1 lead through 3 innings of play. The Red Sox threatened in the top of the 4th but stranded 2 runners in scoring position as Blackburn got Ellsbury to fly out to end the top half of the inning. The Twins loaded the bases with 2 outs in the bottom of the 4th for Joe Mauer but Buchholz would escape danger once again as he got Mauer to fly out to RF and the game would head to the 5th inning with Boston leading 2-1. David Ortiz extended the Red Sox lead to 4-1 in the top of the 5th when he crushed a hanger from Blackburn 422 feet for a 2-run HR to RF for just his 2nd HR of the season. Minnesota stranded 2 more base runners in the bottom of the 5th as Buchholz got Parmelee to ground out to end the inning and send the game to the 6th with Boston on top by a score of 4-1. Jeff Gray relieved Blackburn to begin the 6th inning pitched around a double by Saltalamacchia tog et through the inning unscathed. Denard Span was injured in the bottom of the 6th while stealing 2nd base and had to leave the game, he was replaced by Ben Revere. Buchholz got out of the 6th inning by getting Mauer to ground out and strand Revere at 3rd and that would be the end of the night for Buchholz as he somehow got through 6 innings despite getting himself into trouble in every inning and the Red Sox would take their 4-1 lead into the 7th inning. Matt Maloney came on to pitch the top of the 7th for Minnesota and Adrian Gonzalez took him deep for a 2-run HR to increase the Boston lead to 6-1. Junichi Tazawa retired the Twins in order in the bottom of the 7th. Minnesota got to Tazawa in the bottom of the 8th as Jamey Caroll doubled with 2 outs to drive in 2 runs and cut the lead to 6-3 and he was followed by Joe Mauer who dropped a bloop single into LF to score Carroll and make it 6-4. Mark Melancon would come in to face Justin Mourneau as he represented the tying run and Melancon picked up a huge strikeout to end the inning and send the game to the 9th inning with Boston holding a 6-4 lead. Jacoby Ellsbury led off the top of the 9th with a double down the RF line and moved to 3rd on an infield single by Ryan Sweeney but Brian Duensing would get out of the jam without allwoing a run as he struck out Pedroia & Gonzalez and then got Ortiz to ground out to end the threat. The Red Sox would turn to their closer Alfredo Aceves for the bottom in the save situation. Aceves recorded the 1st two outs with ease before Ryan Doumit doubled to CF to bring up Chris Parmelee as the tying run with 2 outs. Parmelee got a good pitch to hit and ripped a groundball down the 1B line but it was fielded cleanly by Gonzalez who flipped to Aceves for the final out as the Red Sox win 6-4 and Aceves picks up his 6th save on the season.

              * The Red Sox complete the 3 game sweep of the Twins to improve their record to 10-8 on the season

              * Clay Buchholz gave the Red Sox 6 innings of work but they were all high stress innings as the Twins stranded a small village on the basepaths. Buchholz somehow allowed just 1 run despite giving up 9 hits and issuing 3 walks in the game.

              * Jarrod Saltalamachhia went 3 for 4 in the game, raising his average to .390 as he has had a terrific start to the season.

              * Dustin Pedroia went 0 for 5 and is in the midst of a 2 for 22 slump to drop his averageto .189 on the season. Pedroia is hitting just .122 over his last 10 games

              * Twins OF Denard Span suffered a broken arm in the game and will be out 1 to 2 months

                TNK - RED SOX FRANCHISE

BOSTON RED SOX @ CHICAGO WHITE SOX
GAME #19 of the season (Pitching Matchup - Felix Doubront vs. Philip Humber)

The Red Sox take their 4 game winning streak into Chicago where they kick off a 4 game series against the struggling White Sox who come into the game with a 5-14 record on the season. Jacoby Ellsbury led off the game with a walk, stole 2nd base and came around to score on a 2 out RBI single by kevin Youkilis to give Boston a quick 1-0 lead. Doubront got himself into trouble in the bottom of the 2nd as Chicago loaded the bases with nobody out. Doubront was able to minimize the damage as Brent Morel and Tyler Flowers each hit sac flies to RF to score Konerko and Rios and give the White Sox a 2-1 lead after 2 innings. Doubront got Viciedo to ground into a double play to end the 4th inning and the score remained 2-1 heading into the 5th. Humber issued a leadoff walk to Cody Ross to begin the top of the 5th but got Sweeney to hit into a double play and Humber has allowed just 1 hit through 5 innings of work on hte mound thus far. Doubront made quick work of the White Sox in the bottom half of the 5th and we would head to the 6th inning with Chicago leading 2-1. The score remained 2-1 through the 6th inning as both Humber and Doubront continued to match each other on the mound. Adrian Gonzalez picked up the Red Sox 2nd hit of the game as he led off the top of the 7th with a single and White Sox manager Robin Ventura removed Humber as he left to a standing ovation and Jesse Crain came in from the Chicago bullpen. Crain got Youkilis to fly out for the 1st out and Ventura went back to the pen as lefty Hector Santiago was called on to face David Ortiz and Ortiz ripped a single into RF. Cody Ross was up next and he also singled to load the bases with 1 out and Chicago went to their 3rd reliever of the inning as Addison Reed came in to face Ryan Sweeney who had a great AB as he fouled off 6 pitches in a row to stay alive before a passed ball allowed Gonzalez to score from 3rd and tie the game at 2-2. Sweeney eventually struck out on the 12th pitch of the AB and that would bring up Saltalamachhia with 2 men in scoring position and 2 outs and Reed would get Saltalamacchia to ground out to end the inning tied at 2-2. Doubront continued to get stronger as the game went on and pitched a 1-2-3 bottom of the 7th to send the game to the 8th inning tied 2-2. Zach Stewart came on from the White Sox pen to begin the top of the 8th and set the Red Sox down in order to keep the score tied 2-2. Vicente Padilla relieved Doubront to begin the 8th and gave up a 1 out pinch hit double to AJ Pierzynski and Kosuke Fukudome came on to pinch run for Pierzynski. Padilla rebounded as he fanned Alejandro De Aza for the 2nd Out and then oot Alex Rios to ground out to end the threat and send the game to the 9th inning locked in a 2-2 tie. The Red Sox had Gonzalez, Youkilis and Ortiz up in the top of the 9th but Stewart set them down in order and Chicago would have a chance to win it in the bottom of the 9th. Franklin Morales came on top pitch the bottom of the 9th for Boston and gave up back to back singles to Dunn and Konerko to setup runners at the corners with nobody out. Morales issued an intentional walk to Rios to load the bases with no outs for Viciedo. Matt Albers was summoned from the bullpen to face Viciedo and the White Sox called a suicide squeeze that caught the Red Sox by surprise and Chicago wins 3-2 in dramatic fashion......WOW - WHAT A GAME!!!

                * Dustin Pedroia went 0 for 4 and is now 2 for his last 26 as his slump continues.

                * Felix Doubront and Philip Humber were both very strong in this game as they each gave their team very goo starts

                  TNK - RED SOX FRANCHISE

BOSTON RED SOX @ CHICAGO WHITE SOX
GAME #20 of the season (Pitching Matchup - Daniel Bard vs. John Danks)

The battle of the Sox continues as the Red Sox and White Sox play game #2 of their 4 game series with Daniel Bard facing John Danks on the mound. The game was scoreless through the 1st 4 innings of play as Danks and Bard both were very sharp early on. Danks made quick work of the Red Sox in the top of the 5th. Chicago took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the 5th as they strung together some hits and Gordon Beckham got a RBI single to LF with 2 outs to score Pierzynski with the games 1st run. Alex Rios was up next and he singled up the middle to drive in a run and the White Sox had a 2-0 lead heading into the 6th inning. Darnell McDonald led off the top of the 6th with a double off the wall in LF as he just missed a HR by inches but he would be stranded in scoring position as Danks pitched his way out of the inning. Bard pitched a 1-2-3 bottom half of the 6th and the game would go to the 7th inning with the White Sox leading 2-0. Danks mowed the Red Sox down in the top of the 7th and picked up his 8th K of the game as he was hurling a gem. Bard gave up a leadoff double to Pierzynski to begin the bottom of the 7th but battled back and got the next 2 batters before striking out Beckham looking to end the inning and send the game to the 8th inning with Chicago leading 2-0. Danks got the first 2 outs in the top of the 8th with ease before Darnell McDonald beat out a groundball in the hole to Alexei Ramirez at SS to keep the inning alive. McDonald then stole 2nd base and came around to score when Marlon Byrd crushed an RBI double over the head of Alejandro De Aza in CF to make it 2-1. The White Sox brought in Will Ohman from the bullpen to relieve Danks who was tiring and Mike Aviles came through with a clutch two out RBI single to tie the game up at 2-2. Ohman avoided further damage as he got Pedroia to ground out to end the inning. Scott Atchison would come on to pitch the bottom of the 8th for Boston and Chicago would threaten with 2 men on and 2 outs for Adam Dunn. Atchison came up with some big pitches as he struck out Dunn on a nasty curveball to get out of danger and send the game to the 9th inning locked in a 2-2 tie. Chicago brought in Nathan Jones to pitch the 9th and he retired the side in order sending the game to the bottom of the 9th with the White Sox looking for their 2nd straight walkoff victory. Scott Atchison remained in the game for the bottom of the 9th and recorded the 1st out before allowing a 1 out single to Brent Morel to bring up Alex Rios with the potential winning run on base. Rios lined a single up the middle and Morel scampered to 3rd to setup runners at the corners with 1 out for Beckham. Atchison intentionally walked Beckham to load the bases for Fukudome and Boston would bring in Franklin morales for the lefty lefty matchup as they look for a strike out or double play. Morales would get the big strike out of Fukudome for the 2nd out and that would bring up Alejandro De Aza with a chance to win it but he would fly out to Cody Ross in RF as Morales pitches out of the bases loaded jam to send the game to extra innnigs. Cody Ross reached on a throwing error by Ramirez to begin the 10th inning. Jacoby Ellsbury pinch hit for Shoppach and bunted with the intent of moving Ross to 2nd base but Ellsbury was able to beat the throw to give Boston 2 men on with no outs. Darnell McDonald was up next and he sac bunted the runners over to 2nd & 3rd for Marlon Byrd who the White Sox chose to intentionally walk and load the bases for Mike Aviles with 1 out. Jones made a good pitch and got Aviles to ground into a 6-4-3 double play to end the inning and keep the score tied at 2-2. Morales remained in the game to begin the bottom of the 10th and retired the side in order to send the game to the 11th inning tied at 2-2. Nathan Jones remained in the game and pitched a 1-2-3 top of the 11th for Chicago. The Red Sox turned to Vicente Padilla for the bottom of the 11th got the 1st two outs before allowing a bloop single to Ramirez but he was able to get Beckham to ground out to end the inning and send the game to the 12th inning. The White Sox brought in their closer Matt Thornton for the top of the 12th and Jacoby Ellsbury singled with 2 outs but was thrown out trying to steal as Thornton pitched out and Pierzynski gunned Ellsbury down at 2nd to end the inning. The White Sox went down quietly in the bottom of the 12th and the game would head to the 13th inning. Thornton pitched around a couple hits by the Red Sox in the top of the 13th and the game would continue tied 2-2. Adam Dunn led off the bottom of the 13th with a single and he was bunted over to 2nd by AJ Pierzynski. Padilla issued a walk to Morel to setup the double play possibility with 1 out and Alexei Ramirez coming up and Padilla got the 4-6-3 double play as Ramirez punded a sinker into the dirt and the game would move on to the 14th inning. Hector Santiago came on to pitch the top of the 14th and Adrian Gonzalez took the 1st pitch Santiago threw deep for a 422 foot solo HR to RF to break the tie and put Boston on top 3-2. The Red Sox would bring in their closer Alfredo Aceves looking to close it out in the bottom of the 14th and he got Beckham to fly out for the 1st out and Fukudome to line out for the 2nd out bringing up Alejandro De Aza as the White Sox were down to their final out. De Aza took the 1st pitch he saw deep to RF for what would be a game tying HR but the wind pushed it just foul for a long strike and Aceves would bear down and get De Aza to fly out to end the game as the Red Sox win a 14 inning thriller by a score of 3-2.

                  WHAT A GAME!!!!

                  * Dustin Pedroia went 0 for 6 in this game and is now 2 for his lasts 32 to drop his average to .167 on the season. Pedroia will get the day off tomorrow to clear his head and get some rest in hopes of getting him out of this slump. Pedroia got off to a good start to the season but this slump has gotten out of control and he needs to sit a day or two.

                  * The pitching has been fantastic for both teams thus far in this series and both teams will need a big effort from their starting pitcher tomorrow as the bullpens have been taxed in the 1st two games of this series.

                  * Alfredo Aceves is a perfect 7 for 7 in save opportunities so far this season and has yet to allow a run.

You aren't stringing hits together then and producing runs......also, how many games into your franchise are you? My offense got off to a cold start and then just started mashing the ball for a stretch

How are your HR numbers? Maybe raise Human Power a click

                          I mis-typed.....should have been 2 runs

                          I corrected it

.....and those 13 hits were amassed over 14 innings, not 9 innings

I have two questions. Are these the final set posted on first page and can these be used on HOF?

Just tried these sliders and i just got my butt kicked....I was using the Cubs and got beat 0-4 by the Nats... Strasburg threw 9in and had 11 k's... I only had 4 hits all game with the Cubs....Overall good sliders just tough for the avg joe.

These are the current set.....I hesitate to call them final

You may need to bump up HUMAN contact or power depending on your skill level

They can be used on HOF
