No, not really, since the gameplay hasn't changed with the patches, there shouldn't be any major updates anyways.

From the recent feedback within the past month or so, you might want to lower Steal Frequency if you think you see too many steals, especially to 3B.

Also, you might want to lower CPU Pickoff if you feel there are too many pickoff plays by CPU pitchers. I didn't really think this was an issue when I was testing all these sliders, but when I use this slider set in my RTTS games, I can see why a couple people complaint about the frequency of pickoff plays. I notice this especially when a runner is on 2B. Maybe it's a combination of amplified steal frequency due to very high Steal Frequency as well.

Successful pickoff/throwing away doesn't happen that frequently anyways, so I think you should feel free to adjust the Pickoff slider to your liking.

Nomo, I am getting some great numbers except hrs are about 1.08 and doubles are only about 1.6.....I currently have solid hit at 4, would moving it to 5 be a possible solution? This is based on 140 team games. Thanks.

I doubt you can significantly affect just doubles by increasing Solid Hit. It might actually even reduce doubles by getting to the fielders a bit too soon. I don't know, but this year's game in general produces slightly less doubles, which I attribute to new ball physics (under which solid hits travel faster but die down too much on grass, bounces off the wall too hard, etc.). I couldn't find a good compromise without increasing too many triples.

That's the same problem I am having, anything I do to add a small amount of doubles increases hrs and triples.

I think it's very inaccurate to ever measure or compare only doubles, or only triples, without measuring the other. The distinction between the two is very much uncontrollable, as it depends on your home park, and the players on your team, among a lot of other things.

The San Diego Padres last year were one of the worst offensive teams in all of baseball, yet lead the Majors in triples with 42 triples. The team with the fewest triples? Baltimore Orioles, with 13. That means the Padres hit 300% more triples than the last team in the rank.

The Mets, are in the top 5 in doubles, but in the bottom 5 for triples.

The St. Louis Cardinals finished 2011 with the 6th most doubles in baseball, while also having the 6th fewest triples.

In what other statistic do you find that kind of deviation? No where.

The sheer number of variables involved in the separation between a double and a triple is just absurd, to the point that I really don't think anything scientific can come from looking only at one and not the other.

So the point of my rant is that it really means nothing at all if either your doubles or your triples seem to be off. A lot of deviation is to be expected, in either column. The only way to reliably judge where your team stands offensively is to add doubles and triples together, and compare them as a single, combined statistic.

For reference, a team hits a double or triple roughly 1.9 times per game, and doubles and triples together represent about 22% of all hits.

But we are tallying up all doubles and triples in a league, so the numbers should be something that wash out all the complications that could lead to differences among ball parks, etc.

If, after doing that, the numbers of doubles and triples (among all safe hits, for example) do not add up to the real MLB averages, that should indicate that the game isn't simulating certain aspect of games as well.

For example, if the fielder speed is much faster and the arms too strong, that should cut down a significant amount of triples, and even doubles.

I think it is true that this year's game has a tiny bit of deficiency in doubles... and we kinda see that in numbers we have in this thread, and that's also kinda supported by people's impressions about how we don't seem to see those sure doubles (e.g., down the line) as often as we do IRL.

I agree with the part that we have to think of both doubles and triples together though, since quite often the latter happens when the former is misplayed by fielders.

I agree with all that you both say, it does vary greatly from park to park. I'm a tiger fan so we see triples all the time here. I'm not upset with my numbers as a whole because the lack of doubles....which is small....is made up with a slight raise in triples and hrs. I will post my numbers when I get to 200 games, things are looking good!

Sorry if this has been asked before but if you are playing in MoM do you mess with the HUM sliders at all? I had both HUM and CPU set as the first page says, but my most recent game I took all HUM sliders to 5 and only had the CPU sliders. The result was an offensive explosion. Was it my teams time to break out or did I jack something up by messing with HUM sliders?

No, HUM sliders won't matter for CPU vs. CPU (or MoM) games. Break-outs happen time to time even in CPU vs. CPU games.
