Vitters has suffered a fractured shin and will miss 2 months. Bad news as he was off to a good start. Jackson is tearing it up and may cause me to bring him up early.

Writeup after the Cubs win:

Cubs get the "W"

In a non-divisional contest, Cubs earned the win.

The Cubs were able to come through for their fans last night, winning a close game over the Nationals, 5-2. Though he had only 1 hit, Marlol Byrd had 3 RBI to pace the winners. The bullpen preserved victory number 1 of the season for Matt Garza, who yielded 2 runs on 6 hits over 6 innings of work.

During the post-game news conference, manager Dale Sveum offered his take on the game, " Whenever you're facing a tough lefty like Gio Gonzalez, you have to bring your absolute best, today we did that."

Behind starting pitcher Jeff Samardzija, the Cubs will try to finish off the sweep this afternoon against Jordan Zimmerman and the Nationals.

Also, the wind was howling out to right in that game. That explains the two homeruns by really bad hitters. I think it was 15-20 mph the whole game.

He'll still be out of here when I can find a good fit for him, depending on injuries. Hopefully he produces so I can get someone good. If Jackson keeps playing like he is, I can't keep him down there for long.

Just beat the Cardinals 5-4 to win the series 2-1, a good start to the young season. Wolf went 6 strong and Weeks led the offense with a HR and another hit.

I walked a total of 6 times (including one with the bases loaded) and after 2 games played, I am still batting 1.000 with Nyjer Morgan.

Onto the Cubs..

im using the veteran sliders and they really do bring it from arcade sim to sim. for me anyways there seems to be more errors on the AI side and the play is flowing great.

Hey guys,

I'm using the summer classic (hof) sliders and loving the games. Seeing good pitching, defense, singles, doubles and triples. The one thing I am seeing is lack of home runs. I have played 6 games now and I have hit 2 and the CPU none.

Just wondering if your seeing this or not. Also, to fix this and not affect anything else what would you raise?

I am not seeing this. I don't know my exact stats but after 3 games, I believe I have 2/3 and the Cards have 5.

Six games is no where near time to panic. Keep playing. Remember, the Cubs only had like 2 homeruns in the first 10 games this year until LaHair went on a tear. I have hit 2 and the CPU has hit 1 in my 2 games so far, they'll happen.

OK started my frachise on the All star set (except picth speed at 6 and timing at 5) with my team the Indians. In my first game I was shutout and lost 2-0. Masterson was great all game till he gave up a 2 run shot to Lind. Romero was incredible as he struck out 7 and and threw an 8IP shutout. In game 2 it was another slow start on the offensive side for each team, until Asdrubal Cabrera hit a solo shot. I held that 1-0 lead into the 6th, until the Blue Jays got 4 on Ublado including a solo shot by Bautista. Brantley hit a solo shot in the 6th to make it 4-2. In the 8th, it didnt look good with Cordero coming on and my offense really struggling. Until, I had an 8th innning consisting of 2 walks 5 hits and 2 errors that lead to me taking a 8-4 lead. I held them off in the ninth and won the game. Game 3 is in progress right now.

Epic 8th inning my man! I have only been able to play my first two games of mine, mainly because of golf and double xp BF3.

Ive been ion BF3 a little too and I went back to HOF as All star was a tad to easy and Summer Classic is playing great... and thanks alot for all this as I don't think I've said it yet.
