Third game with this set. More offense this game. (Too much from the Blue Jays

).It was just one of those games where everything I threw ended up in the middle of the plate. I'm probably going to stick with these as they are. I'm seeing a lot of variety. Thanks TNK.

I meant to mention this before, but I love the custom hitting camera. It is the closest to MVP 2005 that I've seen, and that was my favorite hitting camera of any baseball video game I've ever played.

Here's a quick reference to how it looked in MVP, almost identical.

Just had a pretty decent 1st inning against the Brewers and Marco Estrada.

Jimmy Rollins base hit.
Michael Young base hit.
Chase Utley strikeout.
Ryan Howard 3-run home run.
Darin Ruf doubled.
Domonic Brown walked.
Ben Revere bunt single thrown away for an error allowing a run to score.
Humberto Quintero strikeout.
John Lannan strikeout.

Score 4 runs and made Estrada throw 32 pitches.

I think I may need to reduce either cpu contact, solid hits, or my pitching difficulty. It just seems like the computer is constantly hammering the ball even when they make outs. For me, a majority of my hits seems to be grounders that find their way through the infield or a softer hit that finds the gap. Meanwhile the computer hits line drive after line drive off of me.

Just played a game: angels at Reds

*first game with the sliders*
Impressions- chapman was all over the place, he threw 37 pitches in the first inning giving up 3 runs, I was patient all game and chapman was pulled after going 4 full innings.
4 innings
5 runs
8 hits
2 BBs
56% strikes
62% first pitch strikes

In the game there was
4 HRs (1 by Hamilton, 1 by Jay Bruce, and 2 by Todd Frazier)
4 2Bs (2 by trout, 1 by aybar, 1 by Pujols)
4 BBs (2 by chapman (back to back), 1 by weaver, 1 by Madson)

Over all game felt good, no errors. Chapman felt all over the place and had little control. He missed a lot and wasn't close on most of them. I like the pitch speed at 8, Chapman was throwing 97-100mph fastballs all game and they def came on quick. I'm gonna play another couple games keeping track of as much stats as possible. Cheers!!

What happens to the sliders if you lower the difficulty levels? (I'm not ready for All Star yet). Would it retain the same general effect, or would that kill the point of them entirely? Not sure how much sliders are tied to difficulty.

The sliders are mainly just a base, my best advice to you is to just try these sliders on whatever difficulty you'd like then just adjust accordingly to your liking.

Hey TNK,

Loving the sliders as always. Only question and im sure alot of it is im rusty but im behind everything right now. Im getting into bad counts and not being patient. The ball comes so damn fast with the pitch speed on 8 im swinging blindly like an idiot (loving it btw) should i lower pitch speed to 7 (maybe even 6) until i get my bearings or go and practice on 8 until i get it. Really dont wanna make it easy on myself but i don't want to have a bad franchise either (i will restart after the rosters come out anyway). Wasnt sure here. Everything on the sliders ive used to the letter except im using timing hitting. Awesome sliders btw goes without saying.

TNK - EXHIBITION GAME

Boston Red Sox @ Toronto Blue Jays

* John Lackey should have been out of the 1st inning when Encarnacion grounded to SS but Pedro Ciriaco threw the ball over the head of Napoli at 1st base and Melky Cabrera scored to give Toronto a 1-0 lead.

* Boston tied it in the top of the 2nd on a solo HR by Middlebrooks after he worked the count to 3 balls & 1 strike and got a fastball from Romero that he smoked over the wall in left centerfield.

* The game was 1-1 through 4 innings and Romero recorded the 1st two outs in the top of the 5th before the Red Sox rallied. Romero threw 7 straight balls as Pedro Ciriaco drew a 4 pitch walk with two outs and then Ellsbury had a 3 & 0 count when he turned on a fastball for a 2-run HR down the RF line to put Boston up 3-1. Victorino followed with a single and moved up to 2nd on a wild pitch. Dustin Pedroia blooped a RBI single into short RF to score Victorino and make it 4-1. Romero then hit Ortiz with a pitch and that was the end of the day for him as Brett Cecil came on and got Napoli to ground out to end the inning.

* Toronto had runners at the corners with 2 outs in the bottom of the 5th for Melky Cabrera and Cabrera beat out a chopper over the mound for an infield single to score Lind and make it 4-2. That would bring up Jose Bautista with 2 men on base and 2 outs for a huge at bat but Lackey froze Bautista with a filthy curveball to end the inning with a big strikeout.

* Junichi Tazawa relieved Lackey for the bottom of the 7th and pitched a 1-2-3 inning to send the game to the 8th inning with Boston leading 4-2. Tazawa and Koji Uehara would combine for another 1-2-3 inning in the bottom of the 8th to send the game to the 9th inning with the Red Sox holding a 4-2 lead

* The Red Sox extended their lead in the top of the 9th when Dustin Pedroia launched a 2-run HR off Brad Lincoln to make it 6-2.

* Boston closer Joel Hanrahan came on to pitch the bottom of the 9th with a 4 run lead. Colby Rasmus led off with a single, Hanrahan bounced back to get the next two batters as Toronto was down to their final out when Arencibia lined a single into LF to bring up Bonifacio with runners on the corners and two outs. The tying run was on deck but Hanrahan would get Bonifacio to fly out to end the game as the Red Sox win 6-2.

Stick with 8 - it takes a few games to get the hang of.......you will get better at identifying the ball out of the pitchers hand.

The key as always, is being patient and working the count.

IMO - 7 is just a tad to slow, you'll be out in front too much and you'll end up at 8 anyway.....so just stick with it and focus on getting better instead of making it easier, then having to adjust again later on.

I LOVE THE WAY THESE ARE PLAYING RIGHT NOW......just had an exciting game against Toronto

Yea I've been having some crazy variety so far TNK. Usually me settling on a slider set for the year usually comes right around the same time as OSFM rosters. Damn you for being this good

now I get to wait around for the rosters while playing such stellar exhibition games.

Got another game in last night, but going off memory here.

Franchise Game 2
Angels (User) at Reds (CPU)
Angles win 4-3 in 14 innings.

Latos was firing and went 6 full innings with 8K's

There is one thing that has concerened me as of two games in, and that is there has been 4 HR's in each game. I'm not to overally concerned at the moment but I'm gonna keep an eye on it going forward.

First pitch strike percentage is looking good, and it seems like pitchers are losing command when they get in jams and the confidence is going down which should happen. Once I get back home I will do the full box score as it was a pretty intense game going into extra innings as the Reds tied it in the 9th.
