Yes sir! That's all.... I can give you reasons why you can adjust things a certain way... but I've also found reasons why you shouldn't.

At default, you get everything the game has to offer... I wanted to adjust a few things to see if I can get a bit more out of it... but realize that when I adjusted something, it would result in another area of the game "lacking" moreso than it should...

One example... lessening arm strength.... results in hits on balls where the SS needs to dive to make a play. We all know someone like Jeter can dive and make a play on pretty much everyone except the most ELITE runners in the game... but after lessening the arm strength, he can't make that play on average runners.

That is just an example... another that I also tweak sometimes is Pitch speed... b/c the game is indifferent to it. The hits do not come off harder or softer with manipulation of this slider....

Pretty much all others are at default on HOF... and you get varied results all over the place. 1-0 ballgames... then the 8-6 win the next. I love it!

All I have done is turn the pitch speed down a couple notches. it helped tremendously with hit variety, I also turned downed the CPU contact slider a bit because I wasn't getting enough strikeouts, it didn't seemed to help. I still can't strike out more than 5 a game with anyone of the Reds staff, that is the problem I guess. I really need to use another team and see how it goes.

This is the best baseball game ever, IMO. Sure, there are things that could be polished, but the gameplay is superb compared to what we have previously seen. I love it that I can actually lose sometimes and not feel like the AI cheated to do it.

Pared, just curious, what team are you playing with? I used your settings last year and loved them. This year, I am having trouble getting comfortable with this game. I am playing with the Rockies, just as I did last year, and I think that may be the simple answer. My pitching and hitting is terrible.

Yes, on HOF those settings are at default.

I agree with your assessment on this game... #1 in my book, dethroning High Heat from back in the day. I'm not messing with sliders, datafiles... ANYTHING. And I love it. This is what I had hoped HH would become... If it weren't for this title, I'd be bitching all over the 2k6 forum.

Yup, I play with it on. I don't like it on lower difficulties b/c it's too easy to just guess on the 4 zones... but on HOF, you have all 8. Plus, guessing correctly doesn't mean almost an automatic HR as on the lower difficulties...

This is one of the most balanced baseball titles I've ever played out of the box. If only we had 40 man rosters in September, Rule 5, and one game playoffs in Franchise!

Actually, there was another post about the one game playoff, I think if it's for the division and both teams aren't going to make the playoffs, there is a playoff, but if both teams are a guarantee for a playoff spot, they go head to head tie breaker.

Well, I was intrigued by the idea that HOF played well so I gave it a whirl. Ouch.

I will say, I love the pitching. I managed to keep a fantasy drafted squad of hitters to 9 hits, 3 runs, and 2 walks and it was much harder than when I played on the second level - veteren? That was with Felix Rodriguez, A. Rhodes, and F. Rodney.

On the other hand...the hitting was brutal. A. Heilman (who!?!!?) gave up 3 hits in 6.2 innings with 1 BB and 12K's. Then their bullpen really closed me out with Tadano, Frasor, and Brunner...whoever they are. The last of which had another 2 k's. Yikes.

Not saying it's unplayable, it just always seems like the levels play out differently. I ended up having to do the same thing on MVP last year. Hitting on pro, pitching on all pro.

Thats my only gripe with the HoF settings at default...I have tried all of the sliders posted here and keep saying to myself that I get the most balanced game with the settings on default for the PSP.

Question? Why is difficulty on All-Star *important*?

I'm still struggling to hit on Veteran.

Any tips for a MLB series newbie on hitting? I've got the pitch speed at 0 and still can barely make out balls and strikes. My timing might come along, but judging balls and strikes is a nightmare. I wish the pitches were just a tad more exaggerated like in High Heat.

Also, do you swing based on where the pitch is going or anticipate location and adjust as the pitch comes in? When I do the former I can't seem to stay patient at all.

On the pitching side, it seems like my starters are significantly gassed by the 70-75 pitch mark. A pitcher fatigue slider would seem easy to implement. I wonder why they don't have one?

I couldn't agree with this more. I'm even thinking of going with rookie with some adjustments. I gave it a lot of time to get used to hitting on All-Star, and I just simply am guessing, because picking up the damn ball is nearly impossible. I hope Vet. is quite a bit easier.

I haven't seen that... I do notice that in the minors though the CPU brings in different pitchers (once they hit the bullpen innings) VERY often...

Are we talking the PSP version, b/c the ball is so small on the screen...? Or the PS2 version. Try lowering the pitch speeds. It doesn't have an effect on the hits (thankfully) unlike MVP 05's pitch speed slider.
