Re: Official 1995-1998 Classic Roster Project
Baumy, I'll just echo what everyone here has already said - your work is fantastic. Thanks for sharing your labor of love with all of us. It's more appreciated than I can express. And that drsublime guy too, he's an artist. I'll never understand "down votes" or whatever it's called but good on you for not letting it bother you. Thanks again for all of your great work.

It's all part of the game
What you're going to want to do is download the file, go to the "load" option on the last home screen (get there by using your R1 button) and highlight the file you want to use.
Hit "X" to load the file once it is highlighted and enjoy.I post the frog

Re: Official 1995-1998 Classic Roster Project
I understand how to find and save the rosters, but how do I actually play a game with them? So you've created teams/rosters for 1995, once I download your roster how to I select the 1995 Cleveland Indians and play a game, series or whatever with them? Is there a way to create a team, then use that team in an exhibition against another team? Or use one of these rosters in a post season scenario? Do I need to go into the downloaded rosters then add the players to current rosters?Comment

Re: Official 1995-1998 Classic Roster Project
He just told you how. After you download a roster you have to go to Utilities (I think that's what it's called) in the menus and load the roster.

Re: Official 1995-1998 Classic Roster Project
Man, I have to tell you guys - I am really, really pleased with the way this file has been playing.
I am not just saying that because I made it either. I really like the feel I am getting from these.
The way I chose to input the speed and fielding ratings is really working out I think.
I like the stealing ratings as well. I want to use a players defensive range, stolen base stats, and other factors to help with a decent speed rating and I think it's working.
True burners like Kenny Lofton and Prime Time (dude ran like a 4.20 40 in the NFL) will stand out, while "fast" OF's and the like will still get their due, but not as much. This all works out in the gameplay and lets players make a difference.
One example is some of the guys I created with certain fielding attributes. It is awesome to see them play out in games.
That being said, Texas is pretty much all done and I hope to have Toronto and Oakland done by Monday.
I think that only leaves me with 5 (including Milwaukee) teams left in the AL!I post the frog

Re: Official 1995-1998 Classic Roster Project
Just a question: When creating a roster set for an historic year, is there a way to prevent your created players from being rookies?

I felt that my 1996 set in MLB 12 was good, but it had some faults with the ratings and pitch speeds and selections. I wanted to improve upon that in this set and put out a lot better product. I love that pitchers guide and my understanding of the pitch rating attributes now. It's helping me keep things as close to the actual player that year as I can.
I also want to encourage you to use Armor & Marino's sliders. That is what I am using (again) and it always seems to give me more than great results. There are so many good, close, low scoring games, and then the occasional blowout win/loss with these at just the right rate. And the stats always seem to measure out and play to the ratings for good results. They are so legit man.
Yeah, but you have to edit a current player instead of using the create a player feature. Some guys prefer to use the create a player feature and start the guys off as rookies is why. Hopefully one day SCEA will give us the ability to change this.I post the frog

Re: Official 1995-1998 Classic Roster Project
Baumy, how accurate are the Bernie Williams and Paul O'Neill CAPs in your 1996 preview roster? I may just export them for my fantasy draft franchise unless DrSublime makes them first.

Re: Official 1995-1998 Classic Roster Project
As for face/look, I would say they are at the very least good-great for facial recognition. I imported them and I don't remember feeling the need to change or touch up anything so I think they looked good.
One more small change I would insist you try as well (if you're not already) is that broadcast camera on defense.
It's the one where you are behind the pitcher and using each stadiums unique broadcast. I have never used it any version of The Show before, but I tried it now and it just adds so much more to the game.
It feels good, and gives you a different perspective instead of the same view behind the plate. You can always change back if it seems hard because you are looking in on the plate and have a smaller zone, but it makes pitching really, really fun.
Let me know how any of that works out if you try it.I post the frog
