Jason Campbell just lit me up in a 4 game set (Bos 1B). Still loving these and they will be moving up with me on Tuesday

        Re: justmunc's Fictional Roster

Man, I'm loving these rosters. As I previously mentioned, I did a fantasy draft and put a premium on pitching. I took the best hitter on the board available to me at #10 overall (Marti, a solid Ken Caminiti type of third baseman with good contact and a nice dose of power) and then basically drafted my first three starting pitchers after that before focusing on my lineup.

I put a premium on guys that have A or B potential and under 25 with an OVR already above 73 or so. Man, I wound up with a solid young team!

I have two shortstops, rated 73 and 74 and both of them with A potential. One is a lot more solid defensively but not as fast (Dexter Cady) and a little less of a bat. The other has more stick skills but really sucks defensively (Peralta is his last name). I've kind of platooned them as my regular starters within the infield, making sure they're both playing regularly four out of every five games. But man, call me crazy but there is something about Cady offensively that makes me SO much better with him.

I was down 3-1 in the bottom of the 9th last night against the Astros. Marti lead off the inning and jumped all over the first pitch for a single. A wild pitch sent him to second. Rosario, my 1B then struck out on a wicked curve but that was the last and only bad thing to happen for me in the inning. Day (one of those "all-or-nothing" hitters that I've grown to love -- dude has 3 homers in nine games and is batting like .220 but when he connects against a RHP . . . DANG!!!) strikes out on a dropped third strike and basically limps his way on base. Marti moves to third to give me runners on the corners and one out. I brought in Joyal (good all-around type that I give a lot of PT) to pinch run for Day because his SPD is freaking 3, haha. Then Webber, my starting catcher takes one off the leg to load the bases.

Cady comes up and jumps all over a first pitch sinker and sends it some 400 feet into the Rangers bullpen for a walk-off grand slam and my Rangers win 5-3!!

The dude is money. I homered with him the very first time I hit with him in game 2 of the season, and he homered again a few days later (also a game-winner but not a walk-off because it was the bottom of the 8th) and then he does this the next night. Yeah, I'm pretty sure he's my everyday shortstop from here on out.

          Re: justmunc's Fictional Roster

Once again glad to hear all of the franchise stories and how most of you are handling the players. I'm really thinking about re-amping my efforts for the next game. I plan on doing extensive detailing for all 90 men on a team. I'll put up a thread sometime after the release of Show 15 to recruit some people for the project.

Currently I'm in June of my 2nd season and after a rocky start, The A's are in full flight offensively. Pitching has not been as solid as it's known to be but it gets the job done. Updates will come when I finish the season!

            Re: justmunc's Fictional Roster

I put this in the historical thread....figured you should know about this as well......I use fictionals too......GREAT NEWS(and it has been confirmed by someone with the game....it still works....)

            HIGHLY POSSIBLE GOOD NEWS!

Guys.....a new member here on O.S. has pointed out a "glitch" that will likely allow you to take MLB'14 rosters and simply port them over to '15(and beyond if you keep each version)

Here is the POSSIBLE work around.(It works for '14.....we'll have to wait for '15 to see if it still will work)

-Start a franchise using your historical roster ENABLE CPU ROSTER CONTROL to ON in the options(where you would enable the fantasy draft.....)
-You would then take your '14 franchise save file and bring it into '15
-When you go into the CPU ROSTER CONTROL section(not the manage roster section where you edit players and move them....it's a different panel lower right) you can actually hit on a player and EXPORT HIM(FROM A FRANCHISE!!!).
You would then create a roster and import those players from your HDD.

            Voila!.....14 created rosters for '15!
            *HOPEFULLY IT WORKS*
(you can see how it works now by just doing it in '14)

                Re: justmunc's Fictional Roster

Didn't even know this was available... Awesome guys. Importing players via franchise does work... I'm doing that with my fictional rosters as well which I (finally) finished from last year. So yes, that means all the players the community helped to create will finally be making an appearance... Looks like we may have two good fictional rosters this year.
I play sports games and spend way too much time making rosters.

Fantastic. I hope these are being done again with this workaround. I love running a real 'chise and one with fictional rosters!

I played on a 1 game on (quick count) and 3 games off so I could play most of the games. I used the TNK sliders so all of my games were usually under 12 total runs as well as pretty close. I won more than I lost, but some of those losses were real heart breakers. I did play on series through (Giants 4 games) and won 3-1 like in real life. I also played every game in the playoffs and got bounced by the eventual World Series Champions, Blue Jays, 3-2.

For the first few months my team was very mediocre yet we had the division lead with a very good Houston team behind us. Due to the sliders, my team had sub-par averages besides a few outliers, including Justin Munson (based off myself) It wasn't until the summer months when the starting pitching came alive! I originally lost my #3 starter for the season and had to call up one of my top prospects (Addison Simpson) who didn't perform too well at first, but soon became my 2nd best pitcher behind a very hot Ike Speire. Bats still struggled throughout the season and I couldn't auction off any of my struggling hitters (3B Sean Freeman, LF Mike Foster) so I had to do a little platoon work, which did pretty well. We stayed at the top of the division the whole year and at one time had an 8 game lead over Houston, but we did not fair too well in division play, especially against Seattle (I think I went 1-3).

Playoff time came and we were 2nd seed behind Toronto and ahead of Chicago, in which we played. I lost the first game but won out the next three. Toronto destroyed the wild card team and held home field advantage over us. On the NL side, an unlikely pairing between Cincinnati and San Diego was taking place. Once again we lost the first game due to the lack of run support and a misplayed ball by CF Kelly Skinner. We were able to win the next two with the help of the long ball from the middle of the lineup, but were beaten the same way the next two games to end our season. San Diego was able to fend off a Cincinnati comeback and face the Blue Jays for the World Series. As said before, the Blue Jays were clearly the better team and took the series in just 5 games.

I'm currently in the 2015 Spring Training, working out some roster moves to accommodate my overachieving prospects. The salary cap was not too much of an issue this year, but once those contracts expire for the big guns, teams with higher caps will be able to take in more talent while teams like the A's will fiddle around with prospects and under the radar players (similar to real life).
Took almost two months but my second season has finished as the A's win the World Series in 5 games over the Brewers!

The season started out tough for the A's as key injuries plagued the starting lineup as well as a rocky beginning for the bullpen that saw the addition of a new closer, Matt McCoy. Even while finishing the first two months with the winning record, Seattle and Houston controlled the division until the summer months hit. During the months of June, July, and August, the bats came alive as at one point, three players were hitting above .300 while others followed closely. Two key trades took place in the final weeks prior to the trade deadline as the A's were able to get some much needed help in the infield. Trades with the Marlins and Cubs brought in 2B Ryan Davies as well as 3B Brad Nicholson who were key contributors to the final playoff push. The final game to cap off a 95-67 record, best in the majors, was a no hit shutout by pitcher John Byrnes who rode that success all the way into the World Series.

Oakland was able to finish the post season with a 13-4 record, but not without some late game scares. To start the playoffs, Oakland played the defending World Series Champs, Toronto, who also knocked off the A's in 5 games during the ALCS. Oakland made quick work of them including a walk off HR by Brian Richardson. Next was the powerhouse in the north, Minnesota, who made life very difficult for the A's during the regular season, but was no match for the fantastic pitching that only allowed 12 runs during the series. The next test was another powerhouse up north, but in the NL. The Brewers found there bats silenced throughout the series, never scoring more than 1 run. Oakland took the series at home to cap off a fantastic season.

The awards went to as following:

MVP: AL Ike Speier OAK NL Jared Copeland CHC
CY Young: AL Ike Speier OAK NL Andy Kimble WAS

Postseason MVP: AL Brad Nicholson OAK NL David Saldana MIL
World Series MVP: Ryan Davies OAK

Justmunc, will you be releasing a new revised set with updated equipment, etc for 15? I am just finishing my first season with your original set (which is awesome!) and I am trying to decide if I should edit my current franchise players or wait until a new set comes out and start a new franchise.

I can't speak for justmunc, and I certainly don't want to take away from his set because it is fantastically done. However, I will be releasing a set that is somewhat of a compilation of all the players created by the community last year, some stars from the king_riles4 roster, and many of justmunc's players as well. They will be done by April 30. I went ahead and created another thread devoted to this set, so as to not get them confused. Here's the link if anybody is interested:
