Here are my thoughts.....since it seems equip/contracts look to be important to most.

We take the first update from SCEA(we'll all still be working on minor league players at that point)....and have someone do the contracts. Then get in as much equip updates as we can before Willard and Ridin' are ready to start importing and updating players. It has to be quick to give Willard the freedom to begin his MLB player updates(so maybe as long as it takes him to finish his minor league players)...
From there...we can take equip requests and tack them on.

This way we don't have to had it off at a later date to get those parts completed(although we can...if we are waiting on teams for importing)

My thoughts exactly. I think our biggest challenge will be to devise a system of not doing double the work with importing. WTNY has volunteered to help with contracts and he is reliable as they come, not to mention quick. Equipment could be done as we rerate unless that is something everyone wants in the base project.

Re: O.S.F.M. 2015 Recruiting(joint ops with Hybrid Set)

Mariners and pitch edits, as usual.

I'll just post some quick thoughts, will probably go into more detail closer to release:

          RE potential:

A great way to determine potential is to manually input projected numbers and use the resulting OVR as the player's potential. There are so many lists and grades available now and none of them perfectly translate 1:1 into how the game rates players.

So instead of just guessing, use the tools we have available to confirm the numbers you are seeing. If Buxton rates out to a 99, so be it. If he rates out to a 90, so be it. (I'd personally bet on 99 though)

          RE pitch repertoires:

For pitchers who don't have full repertoires available or listed, here are a few general guidelines -

          - Keep fastball/changeup separation around 6-7 mph or lower, unless otherwise noted. The separation increases as ratings increase, so to prevent every pitcher having 10+ MPH separation please keep it as low as possible.

          - Use the lower end of a pitcher's velocity, so if a pitcher sits 92-95 and can hit 97 then set his velocity around 93.

          - Set command and movement within a grade/half-grade of final projection to minimize crazy velocity gains.

          - Use more than just 4SB, SL, CB, CH (aka cookie cutter repertoires). Also use the whole range of ratings for pitch movement.

I'll be working on updating my pitch spreadsheet pretty soon. Sometimes minor leaguers make their way onto the list - if you see any feel free to use the repertoires listed.

I'll get back to you on that Buxton OVR

              Thanks Willard.

Yeah, I can do contracts and get them done quickly and correctly. I will have a complete database of contract info for anyone with a major league contract ready to go by the time the game releases. It makes sense to input these contracts for SCEA players before importing begins and before the rosters diverge into "stock" and "hybrid." We wouldn't want to enter contract info twice and I can't imagine that fans of the "stock" or the "hybrid" roster would want to play with unrealistic contracts.

We can even experiment with youngsters to see if we can elongate their contracts at a miniscule salary to simulate having more team control--but that would need to happen after the importing of OSFM players. Maybe this would be best accomplished by the creators of each OSFM team. It's always been irritating to need to re-sign scores of youngsters with no MLB experience to MLB contracts or watch them go to free agency.

95-99 - Superstar player, Future HOF player
90-94 - Perennial All Star, Bottom End Superstar - a true Ace or top 2/3 player, some Closers but not all
85-89 - semi Regular All Stars, Could be a #1 starter on most teams, most Closers and high end Set up guys

Also no minor league hitter should have a clutch rating above 45, most should be 35 ish unless they are on the cusp of making it.
Do we apply your advice on clutch to pitchers also?

Thanks for the insight. Any other insights you could give would be a great help. I like the direction your hybrid roster is headed.

I saw your work on your organizational chart. We could use a guy like you on the Hybrid team once you get the Tigers set up.

Sounds interesting. I'll let you know when I'm finished so I can help out in any way I can.

                        Thanks.

Are you guys going to pay close attention to players in need of service time? Last year with OSFM quite a few missed the boat on that one. The Hybrid was much better when it came to that.

If you guys need a list of players in can try and put that together.

We are doing that on our master list. Biggest challenge as usual early on is finding players editable with proper position requirements to use.

Someone will have to take the Padres for me this year. I'll sort of be in the middle of the ocean somewhere when the game comes out.

I will help with the Reds this year. I took a year off from the game, will be buying it this year so I can help. I can also help with pitch edits that's something I genuinely enjoy doing while most people hate it lol.
