Re: 2015 BASE OSFM/HYBRID CREATION AND EXECUTION
I was doing the same thing I put the whole ps4 folder in and nothing came up, I almost had a way to work around it. But it wouldn't allow me to copy the roster because "it belonged to another user" I think that this is the main problem that we are both facing.
Is there anyway that you guys can upload a certain roster to the vault and we can edit it from there?
Guys I am out most of today. I can import your teams and get you the roster but it may not be till tomorrow - unless someone can help these guys out today.
You can't just transfer a roster - and we killed the old one to prevent others from stealing our work or putting out a fake early OSFM.
I hope everyone can respect this decision, but too many guys are putting hard work into this year's edition.
Hopefully the Hybrid ratings will help that.

Dont discount SCEA patching to slow down progression as well on their base roster. They have in the past and I am sure will look into it.

Hell I'd rather over progression than have players fall off a cliff with regression. But you're right SCEA usually finds a healthy balance.

Sorry to clutter the thread, but is this the thread to follow as far as progress/updates are concerned? There are just quite a few so I want to make sure I am keeping up with the best thread.
TIA for all the hard work to everyone involved. For those of us that use that don't assist in the project, I can't say thank you enough for your time and dedication to this :cheersArsenal | New York YankeesComment

Will I be able to download these on the ps3 when they are finished?? Or do I HAVE to own a ps4 in order to get the OSFM rosters this year?Comment

Read through the thread and I may have missed it so forgive me but will these projects(OSFM or Hybrid) be doing anything with contracts?
Thanks!Comment

Been reading your forums, huge mets fan! Can't even find Conforto in player vault yet! Anyway Just got an account and I was wondering if you know of any osfm 14' rosters transferred over posted in the 15' vaults and if not maybe you could post one for me? I'd do it myself but I don't have a copy of 14'. Thanks hope to hear back.

Re: 2015 BASE OSFM/HYBRID CREATION AND EXECUTION
The negative with carrying over a franchise file from 14 to 15 is that when you get to an off-season, you have to manually resign or offer arbitration to every player on your roster. I had free agents and contracts to auto and most of my team was gone. Not sure if this is a result of the transfer or the AI mgt in 15. I'm assuming the former being a roster from 14 is being used. Other than that, I like the y2y saves. If anything, it'll hold me over till the hybrid 15 roster comes out.
What I recommend is to use last year's hybrid set that already has ratings and pitch edits completed. Granted they won't be as current as the 15 hybrid roster when finished. There are a few on the vault in 14 that have been updated from that roster. I'm using the latest by sookiebunnie. What I did was take that roster, use it in a 14 franchise, set roster control to on, then sim the season and playoffs. Save right before it asks to go to the off-season. Take that file upload it to cloud. Boot up 15, continue franchise from 14. You'll be right where you left off. Proceed to the off-season. This is where you most likely going to have to make sure all of your players are offered contracts. For whatever reason, having it on auto messes up things and you wind up having hardly any players on your team. This is why you have to manually go over contracts for every player. Takes like 10 minutes. Most are minor leaguers and you just offer the minimum and worry about it your next offseason. And doing it this exact way, your 15 season will start from the actual 15 schedule.
I obviously want to start a franchise, but can bide my team playing single games, DD, and RTTS if will benefit me in the long run. I would rather be sure than have to start a franchise overComment

Also, and more importantly (to me anyway) has anyone simmed out 5+ years with the imported rosters to see if they are statistically accurate with the new 15 engine? If not, I would be happy to attempt this and post the results if anyone is interested.Comment

Re: 2015 BASE OSFM/HYBRID CREATION AND EXECUTION
So if I choose to go this route, will I have to MANUALLY renew contracts on my players EVERY YEAR? It is only my team correct, not all the other teams? Just wondering what would be getting myself into or if I should just wait a couple of weeks.

Simmed the 15 season to the start of the 16 season. Everything set to auto on 32 team control. I'm glad to report all is good. The trade logic was much better. Mostly deals of minor leaguers during the season and a couple of big name trades in the off-season. All teams still had most of their main players under contract. So from the looks of it after your first off-season with a 14 franchise file, no need to manually do contracts.Last edited by mooch49; 04-01-2015, 12:33 PM.Comment

Re: 2015 BASE OSFM/HYBRID CREATION AND EXECUTION
Over the past few days, I have been inputting Hybrid ratings for MLB players into a test franchise that I plan on carrying into '15. One thing I've noticed is that OVRs using Hybrid ratings are often lower than those for the stock SCEA on a player-by-player basis. So, for example, a guy like McCutchen might be a 96 OVR in the SCEA version, but only an 87 OVR in the Hybrid. Guys with 90+ OVRs are pretty rare using Hybrid ratings (maybe 1 or 2 of them on a good team and none on a bad team). This should help things, but as Ridin mentioned, how "performance based progression" works is anyone's best guess at this point. I plan to test this thoroughly in the coming days/weeks and over the long Easter weekend I have coming up. I will be looking for...
1. what do the sim stats look like? Are they as good as we got them (darn near perfect) in '14 with the Hybrid roster?
2. what do things look like long term? is it a pitcher dominated league in 2022? hitter-friendly? does the arms race between pitcher and hitter progression balance out? I think many of us would be ok with inflated OVRs so long as the competition stays balanced (250 Ks, .300+ average, 40 HRs etc.. still relatively rare feats).
3. do drafted players come in with ridiculously high potentials and progress into monsters?
4. how do team payrolls react to team performance and real contracts over the years?
I will report my findings in a new thread so we've got some solid, actual data to go off of instead of lots of hearsay and scattered observations.Last edited by WaitTilNextYear; 04-01-2015, 12:22 PM.Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment

Re: 2015 BASE OSFM/HYBRID CREATION AND EXECUTION
So I was checking over the retired players a I just moved into 2015 season in the show 15... Vlad Guerrerro Jr retired at the age of 19 due to poor free agent market.. Really? He is 19, an overall 61 with B potential. Find that one oddComment

Yea that happens if a player doesn't get signed during the season.Comment

Re: 2015 BASE OSFM/HYBRID CREATION AND EXECUTION
There is a workaround for this. You have to either sign the guy in Spring Training or before June otherwise a lot of players in the FA list will retire. Also with editable contracts before starting a franchise may help this as well.Comment
