It's a personal preference the hybrid is a complete re-rate and edits of the non created players (the players that are in the game to start). So if all you care about is getting accurate opening day rosters than the OSFM is great if you want the original in game players to be rated in the same rating system as the players that have been created then you should wait for hybrid roster.

Re: 2015 BASE OSFM/HYBRID CREATION AND EXECUTION
Doesn't really answer my question though I understand since you keep getting the same question over and again. At one point, the MiLB players were going to be the same in both rosters but following recent unknown events, I was wondering if this was still the case? I finished up a 70 hour work week and haven't been keeping up. Just noticed the spreadsheet was hidden and was hoping to see WTNY's work on speed and glovework. Oh well, I'll just have to wait.
Thanks for doing these rosters each year. Wish I had the time to help out.Comment

If so, I believe that they will be this year based on everything that I've read though I would like clarification on this point as well if anyone who is more knowledgeable about this year's process could fill us in.Comment

Re: 2015 BASE OSFM/HYBRID CREATION AND EXECUTION
Yes I misunderstood. Minor league players should be the same with the exception of some players here and there. As soon as I check out the OSFM and it is complete I will start transferring ratings - although I may wait for Monday's roster update to see if they fix any errorsComment

Re: 2015 BASE OSFM/HYBRID CREATION AND EXECUTION
Agreed.
I'm new to this game. Haven't played video-game baseball since I was a kid on Atari.
Bought this yrs 'Show' for the first time ... I'm not a baseball guy (football & basketball) ... but after playing the week since purchasing, IMO this is the best sim sports video game I've ever played. I'm blown away. I've been missing out.
I've been debating with roster to begin with (OSFM or HYBRID). After reading post, think the Hybrid is the way to go and definitely worth the wait.
Thank you so much again guys (roster creators).

I have a question about the amature draft, i know with the hybrid roster the draft picks are inflated but will they be inflated with OSFM V1Madden 18Kansas City ChiefsYr 1 (0-0) Pre-Season (0-1)

Re: 2015 BASE OSFM/HYBRID CREATION AND EXECUTION
Most people make this a bigger deal than it really is though because it takes 3-5 years for these draft picks to matriculate through the minors after being picked, and they still need to progress from there. There are a lot of "A prospects" that come out with ratings so low, they will never reach their POT.
Furthermore, most people never get that deep into their franchise to begin with and those that do are probably more likely to be willing to edit the draft picks if it really bothers them.Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment

Yes. Draft picks generally have higher POT values than the minor leaguers in OSFM or Hybrid. This is an issue for both roster sets, not just one or the other.

To say that most people don't get past 3-5 years in a franchise is really taking a biased stance on how you perceive people playing their franchise. I'm sure there are many like myself that play up to 20 seasons. Any roster design and outcome should be made so it can be used for however many seasons you want to play. Please don't take this the wrong way but don't assume all people play the way you personally handle a franchise...T.K.Comment

Re: 2015 BASE OSFM/HYBRID CREATION AND EXECUTION
Actually my issue stems from the plethora of drafted rookies already having higher OVR's than the re-rated SCEA players in the Hybrid roster set. I'm a veteran of The Show series and with the ratings that SCEA puts out, you ever rarely have this issue. I know you work on the Hybrid and are a backer of it of course but this is an issue for this roster set that is barely an issue at all for the regular OSFM set. I'm not talking about potential at all either. The issue is OVR and OVR only because the CPU manages its rosters based on OVR more then any other outlier.

It's true that OVR ratings tend to be lower in the Hybrid than standard OSFM, but I haven't observed the same issues you have with freshly drafted players coming in with starter ratings. Maybe there are a handful of guys like that from each draft, but it's barely noticeable. Sometimes there are a few 60 OVRs with very modest POT (70s/low 80s), but this doesn't really have a massive impact as I think is being implied here (as in lots of MLB starters are displaced by 1st year professionals).Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment
