He only bats right. I have tried to replicate this with other players but he is the only one form the Pirates circa 2008 that I have found a mistake like that.

You are having the same issue the other guy has. The Batting and Throwing handedness is also pulled from the BatterCard. In your case, the Batter Card is pulling info for Carlos Maldonado.... but for Carlos Maldonado who was a Pitcher for the Royals in the early 90's.

Again, luckily for us (me specifically), the Batter Card info doesn't factor into the ratings the program spits out. It's giving you the correct ratings for the correct Carlos Maldonado you selected, because those stats are based off the "Totals" tab, which finds the Carlos Maldonado that played in the year you selected, so in your case 2006-2012. However, the BatterCard is programmed to just lookup by PlayerID, so it's incorrectly just grabbing the first Carlos Maldonado it sees, which is resulting in the incorrect date of birth, batter handedness, career totals, etc.

But again, none of that is factored into the attributes, thankfully. Otherwise my program would have a major flaw. This is pretty minor, but rest assured, I will have it fixed.

I'll let you know when I have the new version uploaded.

Thank You for your Program, I know it was a lot of time and energy. Just a question, nothing I really need but can it do 3 years averages. No big deal and I hate asking this question after all the work you have put into Your Baby.

It's in the works actually. I think it may have been you that mentioned it on an earlier post. I just wanted to get the core program out for public use, then release updated versions as time goes on. Thanks for the suggestion, and please, keep them coming!

Unless you just outright berate me and tell me the program sucks, you aren't going to offend me. I don't get caught up in the whole "I created this so you have to bow to me" mentality that I have seen from other posters. I'm always open to suggestions, and constructive criticism.

This was a question I was going to have. I love that this is in the works. Your program is so valuable making old rosters. If it worked for MiLB organizational players as well it would be boss mode. But it is great as it is!!

Is it possible to eventually put in a stat entry page that would spit out stats for players who played in the pre-1950 years??? Or a way to add those years, as was possible with Bahnzo's early Roster Tools programs???

Bahnzo's roster tools never pre-dated 1950, and there's a reason for that. The website we use to pull yearly stats from (BaseballProspectus) does not have vital sabermetric statistics used in our formulas for players before 1950.

In other words, I could easily add the years, the problem is the program wouldn't work because the needed stats don't exist.

Got ya, I just remember being able to cut and paste the years on the earlier versions of Bahnzo's program and still get stats, but I understand what you are saying, no worries. I realize the older players' stats are incomplete anyway, so it wouldn't be perfect no matter what you did, thanks for your response!

This honestly looks really cool. Gonna test it out later.

Edit: Does it have pitch speed ratings too for pitchers? For example, would me putting in younger Verlander have his Fastball speed faster than current Verlander?

I am 9 teams into my editing of my AllTime Rosters using this program, and if that is any indication, this is an amazing program and it would be awesome if people could use this to post complete rosters from 1950-2014 if they can give the time, because they will be amazingly realistic!!!

Every time I try and type in the name or year the program doesn't respond. Why?

You have to let it load after you put in the year, it will say READY at the bottom left after it runs the background queries, if it isn't doing that, maybe you don't have macros on in your Excel...

I delete Willie Mays' name and wait for it to load. It loads. Switch to a different year and the program doesn't respond. I have macros and data connections enabled.

Edit: I think I fixed my own problem. Changing the year first then the player.

Hello, sorry I've been away for awhile. Ensure you have macros enabled as well as data connections. Use google to show you how if you dont know.

Good question! PITCH/fx data is displayed as career totals. The speed given is his average speed over his career.
