Re: Turn Back the Clock: 1975
Update:
Cleveland is completed and California(L.A. A) will be completed tonight.
That leaves just 4 teams to go.
Chicago A
Detroit
Minny
Texas
Can't wait to face Eckersley tonight with Nolan Ryan and the Angels.

Re: Turn Back the Clock: 1975
Nolan wasn't on his game last night.
He was walking or striking out everyone...and wound up with 114 pitches in the sixth. He struck out 12 and walked 6.
The Tribe were already up 4-2 by that point and with the bases loaded I brought in Hockenberry who gave up a 2 run single. Hudson got the last out of the sixth.
I used Morris Nettles as a pinch hitter for Mike Miley and he managed a PH homerun...but it was too little too late as the Tribe tacked on one in the ninth and Cali went down one-two-three.
Fun game though.

Re: Turn Back the Clock: 1975
Hey Knight really excited for this roster set i have a question how are you going to fill out the teams that didn't exist back then... will you make up generic players use players from that year that were not in teams or just use john doe's?Comment

Re: Turn Back the Clock: 1975
I think I'm going to take some #4/5 starters....and some low/mid level regulars and fill out the teams with them.....renaming them to John Doe.
I just want it that those teams could get 65 or 70 wins and score some runs and rack up some K's and such.
That's the plan at this point.

Re: Turn Back the Clock: 1975
White Sox are completed(well...I have 3 players to do....)
I also found 3 Cub players that weren't done...so I must create them as well....and for those that noticed...I realize that Deron Johnson was missing from the Red Sox....he is now created for the White Sox.
Detroit up next!....3 to go!

complain was that every time someone played one of the 90's expansion team the score was always like 20 - 0... so using existing average players and renaming them is an excellent idea. I'll probably rename them to generic names just to add personality to them. To bad the game doesn't have a built in name generator.Comment

Re: Turn Back the Clock: 1975
Man that's great the reason I asked is because I just finished playing the 1985 roster and while I loved it and had lot of fun with it my only

That would solve the problem pronto!!!

Re: Turn Back the Clock: 1975
Knight165,
One thought would be to place a variety of existing Minor League Players you created on those expansion teams (without changing their names).
You might have to buff up some of the Starting Pitchers Stamina ratings but I think you have created plenty average to slightly below average Minor League Players to nicely fill those teams.
In Season mode then at least we would get to see those players between the lines.Comment

Re: Turn Back the Clock: 1975
Update:
Detroit is completed.....leaving just Minny and Texas.(and the non-existent teams to get some players imported on....which is easy)
Minnesota is up next!
Oh Mickey......one of my favorite pitchers who just couldn't get a break in the years following his back to back 20+ win years......and the great Willie Horton(the good one not the scum of the earth one obviously)....
Well...at least they have the awesome uniforms!

Re: Turn Back the Clock: 1975
Update:
VERY CLOSE.
Minnesota is completed ..and the Texas pitchers as well.
I've been a bit busy the past few days.
I may be able to complete Texas tonight which would complete all the teams.
Then it's just some fine tuning and importing the proper players on the teams that didn't exist and it's ready.

Re: Turn Back the Clock: 1975
Great rosters. BTW, how did you create a roster set with all your players being created? You have no stock players in your roster set.I have more respect for a man who let's me know where he stands, even if he's wrong. Than the one who comes up like an angel and is nothing but a devil. - Malcolm XComment

Re: Turn Back the Clock: 1975
I wanted to create a base roster that contains all generic players with the same ratings so that no one team gets an advantage in playing a weaker or stronger team during sims(since we can't eliminate them in season/franchise) so I imported the players onto each team and then edited the 1975 set from there.
Unfortunately I didn't realize that the helmets were locked on the player I used to create the set(hence not having no flaps except on pitchers) ...
I thought it was just locked for all.....and realized too late that using a CAP would remedy that.
For the 1965 set.....this and service time won't be an issue. I will have no rookie where it shouldn't be and I will even try and get some milestone stats into the set if any players hit something big that year( you old guys could list them for me if you know them!) This will be time relative though as I don't want to spend too much time on that if it becomes burdensome. At the least, I'm going to get players who shouldn't be rookies out of rookie status.

Re: Turn Back the Clock: 1975
The completed 1975 set is in the Vault...
T.B.T.C. 1975 Season
Knight165
All players who played in the MLB for the 1975 season
All ratings
All faces
Equip/stances/motions(to the best I could)
Lineups and rotations are to most used
Players who played on multiple teams are likely on the team they started with if they played 20 or more games or with the team most played on that year.(with some exceptions if they were a 25 man roster player on one team...but a minor league player on another. They are all somewhere though.
A few things...
I changed the non-existent teams somewhat...but I didn't take it where I "wanted".....I felt like it was impacting a bit too much
But....because of that there a few stats I feel we have to live with a little(just simming....gameplay I think is in a really good spot)
-SB's....they are a little low for the top players......they are usually 50+(Rivers, Lopes, Brock....) but nerfing catchers any more I didn't like....
-HR's allowed.....a little low for pitchers...but this is mostly because of the 6 generic teams(again...simming...not games played)
-Win/Loss for teams...again...the generic teams not getting more wins.
Let me know if there are any major corrections and/or any feedback.
I really hope you guys enjoy the set....and I'll be getting started on 1965 pretty much right away!
ENJOY!!!!
