Knight, correct me if I'm wrong but didn't you say 1985 was your next project? What made you select that year since there are already so many rosters from that era, (I believe 83, 84, 87, etc.)

Re: Turn Back the Clock:1965
Knight,
I have taken your 1965 Roster and made it into a franchise "working roster". Meaning that by doing a Fantasy Draft in franchise you can fill a whole team with legit players and almost every team is completely full that you play against. However, I had to change the nationalities of half of the generics to not have the game crash at the Futures Game and I had to change a large portion of the generics to 18 years old so that after a couple of years all the rosters were not depleted from retirement. Long story short, I wanted to seek your permission to upload the roster for anyone that would want to start a franchise in 1965 and work their way forward to today. I am changing each draft years prospects with the correlating draft and free agent acquisitions from the given year. Hoping to go 1965-2015. I have run tests up to five years out and it holds up. Let me know.
Absolutely.
Sounds cool and thank you.
I appreciate you asking.....thanks....I WANT guys to take my rosters and do whatever they want with them to add to the selection and enjoyment of these sets and the game!
I love the roster making community here and want to see it become even larger!
The editors here do awesome work.

Re: Turn Back the Clock:1965
Plus....1985 was a special year for me.
The Mets on the cusp...but falling just short(damn you TOMMY HERR) and I would like to see if I can take them past those pesky '85 Redbirds!!!

Re: Turn Back the Clock:1965
Dear Knight,
Thank you for creating the set which I downloaded today.
I just have a question about batting by pitchers. In the game is it possible to use a pitcher as a pinch hitter? The reason I ask has to do with the pitcher Earl Wilson. In 1965 he was with Boston. Later he was with Detroit. He was actually a very good hitter and was used frequently as a pinch hitter. In fact in 1968 when the Tigers won the pennant no player, not even Willie Horton, had a better ratio of HRs/ABs than he did. He lost this advantage when the American League adopted the DH rule.
Thanks.

I hope all is well.
Good to hear from you.
Yes, you can pinch hit with pitchers.
To be honest though....I spent very little time with pitchers and BA....so you'll have to go through the better ones and give them better ratings.

Re: Turn Back the Clock:1965
For guys getting some play time with the set.
Are you happy with having historical(albeit not exact...and especially not the last year exact, which I didn't realize would be so much to the forefront) stats to view(totals...not year by year which is IMPOSSIBLE in the current editing state)?
How much does it add to your game experience?(commentary, milestones...etc)
I'm still going to do historical stats in my sets regardless....but I'm curious as to what you guys think.
Thanks!

Re: Turn Back the Clock:1965
Sir Knight, non roster question : curious about your thoughts on the actual game itself this year. Step forward? backward? Side step?Comment

Re: Turn Back the Clock:1965
I play "franchise" with this set but I do it my way, only play exhibition games with the correct number of teams correct schedule and keeping scores and stats by hand. Btw Knight the historical stats and service time is highly highly appreciatedComment

Re: Turn Back the Clock:1965
The new fielding animations alone make it feel better than '15.
Improvements in graphics.
Improvement in lighting.
The change in scouting.
Fixes to my manage mode.
Still work to be done, but a definite improvement IMO.
That's dedication brother!
Old school!

Re: Turn Back the Clock:1965
Definitely a step forward as with the things you mentioned Knight.
Plus one thing I've really noticed is the outfield arms are much more realistic especially on throws to the plate ....... improved cut-offs too.
One thing I think has taken perhaps a step back is the Daily Radio Show recap. I actually prefer 15s but I understand they wanted to reduce it's length but in doing so it is very repetitive to me. In 15 I would listen to almost each and every daily radio show but now into mid June of my first season I have started skipping it altogether which is some what of a let down for me since I did enjoy that feature of the 15 game.
I haven't had time to dive into '65 yet as I am still finishing up my two creations but truly look forward to it. Check Reggie Smith's throwing hand.
Take Care & Keep Swingin' dat Big Stick !

I'll check on Smith...thanks.....
Please let me know how you find the set.
Thanks.
I'm still on the fence about sliders......I like to get at least 20 games in before changes.

Re: Turn Back the Clock:1965
I increase pitcher stamina sliders a little and therefore CPU manager hook. In '65 there were only 10 man pitching staffs with 4 man pitching rotations. The 5th starter being used in double headers which were scheduled and when there was pitcher fatigue. Closers went 2 innings and I don't use the DH.
Yes the historical stats add authenticity.Steelers, Penguins, Penn State, Pirates, Red Sox, Manchester United.Comment
