Re: OS94 (MLB 16) Topic
I think its the right thing to do, for most, especially if "Regular" pants (the tucked in look with a tiny bit of sock showing, are still an option. If it were between stirrups and 'Long' pants, id rather see the stirrups.Comment

Re: OS94 (MLB 16) Topic
Mr Parent, i was reading back through the old MLB 94 thread from 2014 with yourself and Knight, and Im reading posts where you all discuss doing faces and equipment. Was this lost in porting over from different games? Or did it never actually get done? Just wondering since I've never imported.
So I just tested a fix for the shoe edit issue.
Just trade the player to another team that allows shoe edits, fix the shoes and trade him back to his original team. The edit will stick.
I just redid the face & equipment of Fernando Valenzuela, and his shoe editing is locked. I traded him to Tampa Bay, made his shoes green, and traded him back to Philadelphia and they're still green.
So that's your fix!
I'm importing in Betterai's work and then will copy and redo the faces and equipment of the 30 or so players who needed a YOS fix. The copying down process isn't so complicated, all the face variables are either x,y coordinates or % of meter filled. Equipment is the usual shorthand stuff. Then, it's back to hunting players who spent 1994 injured.
Considering all the non-sexy but very important work that I've put in this version, I'm thinking of releasing v2 when I've got 50 players created for this one, and then do a new release every 100 new players.

Re: OS94 (MLB 16) Topic
Yeah, they were in there.
I had this long long post written out and then I accidentally pressed "Back" on my browser and lost it.
So, TL;DR version...
The beard problem has to do with Sony changing some textures when the game made the jump to PS4. Beard 3 (IIRC) is now this long Brian Wilson beard, back then it was just a full beard. So everybody who had a full beard in 1994 had a full beard in the PS3 versions, but they now have a Wilson in the PS4 version. I'd have to check, but I still have my spreasheet with all the data of the original, and I'm pretty sure I could make a list of everybody that needs their beard changed.
The stirrups issue MAY be the same thing, I know they introduced new pants options last year, or it might be me using a YOS model that had high stirrups and spreading it like an idiot. I doubt it though, I'm thinking it's another conversion issue.
In other news...
- Around 200 players left to create in 1994. The end is in sight! Once it's all about fixing stuff, it will be fast and easy.
- I've found my 1994 To 2015 Salary Converter. Which is a great news, because I had TOTALLY forgotten my conversion algorithm.
- I've created the Service Time models that will be used for 1998. 14 of them, 7 fielders & 7 pitchers that have exactly 0,1,2,3,4,5 or 6 years of service. Anybody that in 1998, had 6 YOS or more will have 6 YOS and that will make them free agents at the end of their contract. That's all we need. All of these also have all 3 of their options, which will be useful since I want to implement correct number of options in 1998. This would be impossible without redoing a large part of the mod in 1994.
- 1998 will be an opening day mod. So, Johnson is on Seattle. It will eventually have extended prospect pools.
- 1998 will not use an existing base. It will be done 100% from scratch and will first aim at being a 25-man roster.Last edited by Phil Parent; 07-22-2016, 10:33 PM.Comment

Re: OS94 (MLB 16) Topic
First of all... This is an insane amount of work that you are putting in here... I truly thank you, as I am going to spend way too much time playing with this roster. (Maybe I should hate you? haha) But one thing that would be great to add into your write-up when you release the roster would be a spreadsheet in which you show which players on each team are actually under 18 years old and what age they are. Just like THIS.
I would then be able to go through after each season and make the players stay at 18 until they are actually 19. Thus, making the mode even more realistic. I figure it would be easiest for you to do this as you know which players are under 18.
PS: This is just a suggestion if you have the time to do it... I honestly do understand if you can't do this. I would probably go through it all anyways haha
Edit: So I've been going through the WIP you put out... I was looking at the Amateur FA's that were signed a few years later, and really one person stuck out that might be missing from your young players. Victor Martinez would be 16 in 1994 and IMO would have B+ ish potential. Just somebody who I know made an impact later on and would fit the description for people you were looking to fill rosters with! I understand if you are done with creating position players though.
Also, if there is any spot you need to fill on the Indians (or maybe instead of Craig Colbert) Marco Scutaro had a pretty good career, he would be a decent player to give B- POT at age 19 and make really low overall, as he reached the majors 7 years later.
Haha sorry about this, I'm just planning on going really in depth with these, I will do both of these things on my own anyway, but I figured you might want to add them to the roster for others as well!
Thanks again for all this hard work... That of course I am nitpicking lolLast edited by smichaelis9; 07-24-2016, 07:03 PM.Comment

Re: OS94 (MLB 16) Topic
PSA: If you copy players to use as a base, make damn sure the player you copy has a contract, meaning a number in his "Salary" field because if he doesn't, then when you go to edit his salary he will NOT get one. The first season he plays he will play for zero and THEN he will play out whatever contract you had inputed in.
I learned that the "Had a picture perfect Shane Andrews done and now I have to redo him" way.Comment

Re: OS94 (MLB 16) Topic (WIP Version Is Out! 07/15)
Hey all,
Year 3 of OS94 developement!
I'll finish this this summer and then start on OS98.
First order of business is of course porting from MLB 15.
THEN, I'll go through and set Birthplaces. Actually not that much of an headache since you can pretty much get the info with a simple google search.
Then it will be all about completing the 90-man rosters. Pitchers left to do at this point.Madden 18Kansas City ChiefsYr 1 (0-0) Pre-Season (0-1)

Re: OS94 (MLB 16) Topic (WIP Version Is Out! 07/15)
WIP version is out!!
2400 out of 2840 players are done.
Try it out! Look for OS94 WIP in the Vault.
Now, I'm putting in the 440 players left to be put in.
Surprised with the quality of players I can find this late in the mod's built: Atlanta added Bruce Chen and John Rocker just now. Not HOFers of course, but they're names for sure.
Expos will get Cliff Lee, because of course they do. They were awesome at drafting, weren't they?Talk about things nobody cares.

Re: OS94 (MLB 16) Topic (WIP Version Is Out! 07/15)
Hey man, I looked at Ken Griffey Jr. cuz you know, today he got put in the HOF haha. But, he had 7.something service time, and he only had 31 HR's.
Soooo, I used MoTown's version of him and was able to get the exact right HR's and AVG for each of his first 5 seasons. I will for sure put it in the vault if you'd like! Also, he has MoTown's face which is spot on, so that makes it even better!
You could always edit his rating if you'd like of course, and I made sure he was signed to a contract so the Shane Andrews situation wouldn't happen...
Good luck, and let me know if you want me to put him in the vault!Comment

Re: OS94 (MLB 16) Topic (WIP Version Is Out! 07/15)
Sorry, I'm back with another post... Haha, just wanted to let you know that there are 2 Andy Sheets on the Mariners in your WIP!
Edit: Also, there are 2 Scott Strickland on the Nationals. However, I went through the whole WIP and there are no other duplicates, so having only two is pretty good I would say!Last edited by smichaelis9; 07-26-2016, 04:20 PM.Comment

Just like THIS.I have a lot of free time right now
There age is what it would be the majority of the season. (I used July 12th as the date, as it falls right around the All Star Game) I know, I know not the actual mid-point of season, but it's close enough haha.
Anyways, I will likely go through and edit their age until they would actually have turned 19, and I think some players were rated like their 18 year old self, and not their 16 year old self. Because of that, I will likely bump each rating down about 3 for each year that they are under 18, so a 15 year old will have -9 ish in each category for my own franchise, so that when he is actually 18 he will be about the same, and it will show the growth still... (I will experiment with this though)
If that is confusing and you are interested in doing the editing that I am planning on doing, feel free to ask me and I will try to better explain my plan!
Phil, thank you so much for making these rosters! The thought that you have put into the WIP really shows, and I can't wait to see the final product... I plan on making my deepest franchise ever with these!Last edited by smichaelis9; 07-26-2016, 04:37 PM.Comment
