    Re: OSFM V1 Corrections Thread

Ok how about a worse case. Blue Jays 1B Chris Colabello.

He was created as a LF by the roster makers. He hit .321 in 360 PA last year in the majors. He has a contact rating in the low 30s (or 40s if I remember correctly). How was that made?

I just want to see the formulas, because a lot of these ratings don't make sense to me; it's not just AJ Reed. Tons of prospects just seem so underrated. I've been making rosters since MLB 06: The Show. I have a good feeling on how ratings work and what justifies a specific rating. I just don't see how one of the best hitters in all the MiLB last year has low ratings for hitting and a 56 overall.

Believe that one was a mistake. Saw someone mention earlier that he is an SCEA player and that on the duplicate the name was probably confused with someone else

I know ratings are changeable. I've been here at OS longer than most of y'all and I've heard the argument. Hell, I've made the argument that ratings are changeable and just because you don't agree, doesn't mean they're wrong. But I don't see how the ratings were made.

I'm an Astros fan so I'm probably subjective here but I agree. I thought it was weird seeing Reed as a 56 bc he'll be coming up fairly soon. And Rovert, I'm planning on editing him and I'm sure you are too, so I was gonna see if you mind letting me know what his attributes are after you do. I kinda want to compare so i don't go overboard on the editing for him or anything haha.
And btw this is a really small critique and I think these rosters are amazing

Check out Byron Buxton's minor league numbers, and then compare him to his major league numbers. Based on what he did at A and AA, and your logic, he should have been a 78-80 rated player. Looking at what he's done in his time in the majors, he should be about a 69-70 rated player. A and AA numbers don't mean anything in relation to MLB success.

Ilstu, Mizzou, and I will be working on a full minors re-rate.

I totally agree. 70 OVR for AJ Reed is fair. But 56? For a guy who hit .340 with 34 bombs and nearly an RBI a game?

                  ENOUGH.

Go measure your scouting expertise/roster creating junk size somewhere else.

Get back to actual corrections on the roster.

That was me, and I just guessed that it was someone else. The ratings the CAP had made no sense to be Colabello, so I'm GUESSING that they were wrong. I hope they are because they don't make sense if they aren't.

Not part of OSFM or the ratings. I re-rated all players last year based on their numbers, and I came up with this for Reed (remember, its all stats based in my particular set that I'm referencing) Contact Ratings are 80/51 Power 72/68

He's going to have to have custom fit helmets ordered for his huge dome. There's a number of players (probably nothing to do with the roster) that have enormous heads. Does anyone know what causes this?

Two Trevor Williams on the Pirates. Both are SPs and rated differently. Which is the correct one?

Very unnecessary comment there. We should keep mimicking and bullying out of this thread as well. I'm surprised this came from a moderator.

Back to actual corrections, Astros RP James Hoyt is missing. He's a AAA pitcher who almost cracked the roster. Can replace him with one of the lower rated RP on the roster. If you need a CAP, let me know.
