Re: Classic Teams - MLB 16
Don't rush to MLB 17 as I am back with MLB 16 due to the Starters being pulled so early in 17. Until that is fixed I will continue enjoying 16 and if it isn't fixed then 17 I will skip altogether even though there are a few nice features I would enjoy implementing with these historic rosters which 17 has but to me it isn't really a game worth playing at this point.Comment

Re: Classic Teams - MLB 16
It has come to my attention that a few of my uniform numbers are off for the MLB level teams in my roster sets with respect to retired uniform numbers. Just finished fixing up my '41 and '78 Yankees and the '67 Red Sox.
In case you are unaware of the "fix" for this, here are the steps below using Craig Nettles from the '78 Yankees as an example.
- Put Nettles down to the single "A" level
- Make sure no one else is wearing the retired #9 and go to the edit menu and re-adjust Nettles number at the "A" level (switch the number 9 to another number and then back to #9)
- Bring Nettles back the MLB level and all should be good.
A couple of important points to be aware of. If you move those players wearing the retired numbers from the MLB level or auto fix lineups, they'll lose them and you'll have to follow the procedure above again. If you go into season or franchise play, they'll also lose the retired numbers, but I think you can redo the process once in those modes. Never tried it myself.
Since I only use 25 man rosters though, playoff mode is my preference with classic rosters. In playoff mode they hang onto the numbers which is one of the main reasons that I usually stick to playoff mode as number identity is very important for me. When you are bringing up the other teams from the minor levels in these sets to use at the MLB level keep in mind this scenario for any player that may need to use a retired number. Hope this helps.Last edited by bostongahden; 04-24-2017, 09:23 PM.Pitching, defense and 2 out RBIs win a lot of ball games!

I guess there's no way for me to get these into 17 if I don't have 16 for PS4 right?Comment

Re: Classic Teams - MLB 16
Hey all! For those still playing MLB 16 I just wanted to give a shoutout to SC73Ray for his all-time rosters for each franchise. Starting using these in playoff mode, and I'm addicted.
I only made a few slight changes. Aside from adjusting a few uniform numbers, I have decided to use only players from the live-ball era, so you won't see players who played their entire careers in the dead-ball era like Cy Young or Shoeless Joe Jackson with their franchise teams. For me, the discrepancies between the two baseball eras are too pronounced to blend the players. However, players that began their career in the dead ball era but had productive years in the 1920s like Ty Cobb, for example, are featured with their franchise team. I actually made an "all dead-ball" team, placing players like Young and Jackson on the Arizona Diamondbacks just to say I included all of the greatest players in the game in this set.
If anyone is interested in this set with my adjustments, let me know and I'll put it up in the vault giving SC73Ray full credit, of course.
I'm using the all-time Red Sox against the all-time Tigers in an ALDS matchup. Check it out > http://buzzingthetowersawx.blogspot....ice-rakes.html

Re: Classic Teams - MLB 16
Greatly appreciate the kind words. I've been spending most of my free time on the new WAR roster for MLB 17, but will pop in 16 to check these out.Comment
