Re: Spreadsheet - 40 Man Rosters with Injuries
So can you use 30-team control and on opening day make it so the rest of the season is automatically controlled by the CPU? That way things like trades are possible? I'm trying to figure out the best way to do things. I want my franchise to flow, but I want opening day to mirror real life.

Yea if you use 30 team control you can use the 40 man roster update of OSFM or use the roster I will upload later today and start. After you advance to your regular season they might put some players on waivers if they get sent down without options. If you have 30 team control just reverse these moves and set each team as they were on opening day.
Or you could set every team to manual control until after ST and then if all rosters remain as they were you can just set everything to auto if you want the CPU to make moves.
Hope that answers your question

So with 25-man and 30-team control, I can preserve lineups on Opening Day, then I have to make my 40-mans for each team before advancing to the season. From there I can put everything back on auto, correct?
Now I can do 40-man with 1-team control, and just sim to Opening Day but will run into the issue of lineups being mixed around. This will allow me to not have to set my own 40-mans but will also not allow me to have correct lineups for each team.
Is there a best of both worlds? Sorry if I'm still not understanding properly.

Well with the 25 man rosters and 30 team control I think you sim past ST and then manually edit your 40 man rosters prior to playing opening day. I am not sure though regarding this option but that seems to be the view from the forum.
If you do the second way you can set your 40 man manually at any time as this is the team you control. Then yea when advancing past ST the computer will automate the rosters.
I would suggest if you want total control of the rosters/lineups prior to opening day just set up 30 team control it isn't that difficult. You can then set the other 29 teams to auto profile and let whatever happens happen. You could download A 40 man or 25 man roster and after summing past ST, you can manually set the lineups/rosters for each team.

Oh so if I download a 40-man with 30-team control, then sim Spring Training, I'll be able to preserve the Opening Day lineups and then automate the teams from there? So really only difference between 25-man and 40-man when doing all team control is that I either do them myself or don't?
I think I'm following you now lol

I haven't started my franchise yet so this is purely based off last years games and what I have gathered yea. Make sure when you sim ST and into the season your other 29 teams are set to Manual control, and switch to auto once you are in the regular season.
Plus if it messes up just start again until you get it the way you want

Sounds good. I'll test this when I get home this afternoon. Hopefully will get to start my franchise very soon then!
Thanks for your help!

Re: Spreadsheet - 40 Man Rosters with Injuries
What sort of attribute edits are you making to 40-man roster players? I went through and edited some that were on the MLB 25 man and were below 60 overall. I just made them a serviceable player instead of complete trash.

Re: Spreadsheet - 40 Man Rosters with Injuries
You're awesome for doing this even if you are a Jays fan hahawhen I manually injure people in ST can I just give everybody the same injury or do certain injuries linger around even after they're healthy like in 2k's gm mode? Might just be overthinking things but wanting to make sure first haha

Re: Spreadsheet - 40 Man Rosters with Injuries
Rosters are uploaded to the vault. They are called 40-Man Rosters V2 by TSpence09. Includes rating upgrades for most players on the 40 man roster (especially those in the MLB currently). 40-Man Rosters are up-to-date, including 60 Day DL guys. The players removed were to my discretion. Feel free to use this as a base and edit ratings, etc as you please. If you are good at creating you will need to create Joe Jimenez of the Tigers (I am very bad, so I just left him off the roster)
Hope you all enjoy!Comment

Thats what I did. Made them serviceable. Some who were doing good received better upgrades.Comment

Re: Spreadsheet - 40 Man Rosters with Injuries
To my knowledge, the game will change lineups and rotations based on the 40-man roster even if everything is set to manual at the start of a season (after ST). I just tried it and it did exactly like in previous years. Unless there is one settings I have overlooked, this is the reason why it is recommended to always use the 25-man roster to start a franchise if you want to keep lineups and rotations intact.Comment
