No problem, I sometimes drive myself nuts by wanting things perfect. Sometimes I'm so close to starting a franchise but then find some issues with my roster file and then 3 months later...

I did simulate a season, what I could not find was a place to export those players. Additionally, the reason I thought you could manipulate stats manually was because some of the players I have on my team have their career stats but are missing runs or pitchers are missing walks etc.

I'm used to MVP2005 where everything in a game can be edited.

I’m working on a roster set for 1978 and was using your roster as the base, because everything is editable and makes it much easier. I didn’t want to share the roster without checking with you first though. I expect to have it done within a few weeks. I believe I’ve changed enough, but the lower minors and statistics are definitely your stuff. Please let me know what you think.

And I just want to add a thank you for your hard work, I started to use your roster last year, and was so happy you did another. They are fantastic.

Thanks. Thank you for being a fan. As for modifications, once a roster is uploaded to the vault, you can edit whatever you would like. I have no control over that. If you do post it back to the vault and have people ask about a base, please give them a link or my name but I have no preference past that and am genuinely happy that people are using my roster or simply playing The Show.

Excellent work on this roster, I really appreciate your hard work! It's nice to be able to jump right in to this virtual world without any hangups about CPU roster management or things that would've never happened in real life.

I started a franchise with the Marlins- first signed Quintin Chambers as a veteran presence and depth for corner infield, but he is now likely the starting 3B against righties. Miles Flynn is projected to start against lefties and I changed his secondary position to 1B/OF. He looks to be a versatile asset along with Eli Riddick and Benito Almonte.

14 games into ST and it's a blast getting to know the players, especially those that are unlikely to make the opening 25 but will get their shot as guys go down with injuries. Standouts from that group are Maximillian Johnson and Alex Burton. They've shown solid bats this spring but leave a lot to desired with their defensive abilities.

Changed Max Johnson to 3B with RF/LF secondaries and Burton to 2B with 1B/3B secondaries. So far they've been without incident in the field and hopefully with some training they'll improve enough to be factors down the road.

Also, the first time I hit a bomb with D'Wayne Scott was a nice surprise as his over the top celebration makes him stand out as some kind of character lol. This is as much fun as I've had playing the Show and your roster is a big part of it- thank you!

Thinking of starting a franchise with these and I was wondering how season stats turn out if anyone has played a season with them. Not saying they have to mirror MLB, but I don’t want pitchers winning 30+ games or guys hitting 75 homeruns either really. Just curious how they play out in comparison to MLB. Thanks.

Hey man, sorry for my late reply. I appreciate all your kind words and your decision to pick the Marlins. On this set, the Marlins are a team that has lots of talent at the major league level but not much depth past that.

I also like hearing about you editing the players. If you feel someone may work better in a different position or role, then try them out there and make this your own.

Hey, thanks for the question. The goal was for the league to emulate the real MLB but that's not entirely the case. For the most part, you shouldn't see any pitcher win even 20 games nor should there be any player with even 60 or more home runs. This numbers could still be achieved with adjusting sliders if you'd like but I would advise against doing anything extreme if you pay attention to sim stats.

Thanks for your response. I downloaded your rosters a few days ago and I've been playing some exhibition games with them. I'm really enjoying the fake aspect of them because I have no expectations for guys and I'm not worried about them not performing like their real life counterparts. That's the refreshing thing about these rosters. I've tweaked a few guys appearances here and there, but overall I've left them pretty much the way you have them. I'm considering doing my own thing with them and having a fantasy draft franchise and just see what happens. Thanks again. You've given the game a little more energy and excitement for me. Kind of brings on some nostalgia for me from the Nintendo days of Baseball Stars and Baseball Simulator 1.000 where I would create random fake teams and play for countless hours with them.

                      Re: Bacon's Fictional Roster

Hey Bacon, just wanted to say a few things. I ran across your fictitional roster when looking at what all historical rosters were available for MLB 19,just got this game 2 weeks ago and I noticed that there weren't a ton of mid 90's rosters available (yet) so I looked under the specialty rosters and saw that you made one with fictional players, and I knew right away I was going to love it. Takes me back to the old Sega Genesis days when there were a handful of great baseball games that didn't have the MLB/MLBPA licenses.

I used to play Tommy Lasorda Baseball on the Genesis and I was so diehard about it,I actually kept track of my teams stats manually in a notebook. Played a whole 162 game season with Baltimore on the game and kept track of each players stats. To me that was incredibly fun and held my interest when I was 11 and 12. I love baseball but I don't follow it like I used to with all the distractions and obligations of life such as work, paying bills, raising kids, upkeep of my house and truck, etc. I haven't lost my love for the game, but I've been so far removed from keeping up with baseball seasons that I can only name a handful or 2 of today's current players.

I mainly buy MLB the Show each year for the sole purpose of downloading several retro rosters, mainly late 80's all the way to late 90's as that is the era where I followed baseball. I downloaded your roster because I thought it would be so cool to do a franchise with a league full of players that I have never heard of and get to learn them as the season progresses. I did a trial run and simmed a few seasons, and it was cool to see who all would emerge as stars. I thoroughly enjoyed playing the game this way,but just seemed like there were a few too many players with super elevated stats. After my second season there were 8 or 9 hitters with over 50 homeruns, had 3 starting pitchers with an E.R.A. under 2.00, the RBI leader one year had 166,etc.

Not a big complaint by any means and it didnt take any enjoyment away from me,but i was just going to do a little attribute tweaking around the league to make the stats a little more believable. Before I knew it I was adjusting some of the players appearances, really just the more generic looking ones, changed a few names up,etc. There are so many different things you can customize with each player that it's easy to get lost in it. Spent 3 whole nights already just messing with my roster alone(Rockies).

Its almost like this became a real team. Made my 1st baseman an older veteran, mainly a one dimensional extreme pull hitting homerun machine who doesn't hit for a high average. Made him big and bulky, strong as an ox but slow as a turtle. Turned my LF into basically a carbon copy of a young(pre roids) Bonds, with the perfect combination of strength and speed, hoping he may have a shot at the 40-40 club. Made my pitching rotation a real diverse group; have my tall, lanky right hander who can light up the radar gun at 99 MPH, have a lefty who is more crafty and paints the corners(think Glavine), have a 39 year old who is likely in his last season who really wants to go out with a World Series ring. My number 4 guy is a young,up and coming star from Korea who has a very unique windup and has nasty breaking stuff that will come in at all kind of crazy angles.

I have the perfect blend of youth and experience on my team, several Allstars and many lesser known guys who still hope to play important roles on my team. You can see where I'm going with this though, sorry about the long read, just excited to start my franchise with a team that I really made my own. I hope to give the same attention to detail to the other teams in due time, but for now, will just have to settle for changing a few things on my team. Very appreciative for the foundation you laid out for myself and everyone else who is enjoying the fruits of your labor,it truly is incredible stuff and it actually inspired me to doing a few of my own touches.

Um you need to get your hands on a used copy of mlb the show 18, go to the download vault, look for a roster creator by the name of Baumy300 and download 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998, and 1999! Immediately! And so much more.

Here's thread you need to look at.

The baton has been passed by the Godfather known as Don Cropper. It will be my pleasure to keep this new roster thread updated throughout the cycle. And once you have the rosters you'd like in 18, create a franchise of it. Skip spring Training only.

When you get in 19 load up that franchise and play ball!

And definitely Bacons set is an automatic must have roster for mlb the show. Full 90 man set its unbelievable also if your in route for sliders I'd look at armor&sword or josh.

                        Hope it helps.

I still have my copy of MLB 18 The Show! That's the main reason I refuse to get rid of it,because of all the awesome historical rosters. I downloaded all of Baumy300's rosters, and decided on using the 1996 roster to do my KC Franchise. Such an amazingly done roster,it completely outdid all my expectations for a custom roster. I'm still playing it and doing a franchise on MLB 19 with Bacons roster that I lightly modified. I appreciate the help and advice,I do need to check out some sliders though

The baton has been passed by the Godfather known as Don Cropper. It will be my pleasure to keep this new roster thread updated throughout the cycle. Our Operation Sports Roster Community is second to none. One of the greatest assets of our community are these fine gentleman who painstakingly recreate the greatest players

Wait! I thought those 95,96,97,98,99 years oysters were only good for individual seasons? You can play franchise mode with them? Full 90 man rosters?

                            How did I miss this.....?

Isaac White has been murdering my pitching staff. He hit 2 homeruns in the first of a 3 game series, and 3 the next day,1 in the final game. 6 HR 17 RBI in the series against me....😥
