It was asked weeks ago if you guys wanted to join forces. I was told then that you guys decided to bring your project back which is cool. Teeds and I decided we were going to work on something while there was no Hybrid being planned according to this thread and while the CRP and OSFM were still being discussed.

We haven’t decided officially if we are bringing back the original Hybrid as of yet. We are working on it but it also depends on time consumption. If anyone is interested in helping out with our project please reach out to teeds or myself.

TheGame nor I received any offer to merge groups. If we did, I’m sure we would have had no issue. Bravesfan got an offer to leave us and join your group, but that’s the only offer we got as far as I know.

It is what it is. The Hybrid name is yours and we have zero issue giving you the project back. We just feel a little disrespected for being shown the door with no word after keeping this project alive the last 2-3 years, or however long ago we took over.

Given that my calculator was used as the basis for Hybrid ratings the last two years and I never received anything from Willard or Teeds about merging, then it doesn’t sound a whole lot like a merger. [emoji1787]

Willard simply tried to jack bravesfan from our crew to bring onboard to his own using their own ratings. At least that’s how it came off. Mad props to bravesfan for his honesty and being upfront with us. He’s a valuable member of the group, so I can understand why you wanted him as part of your crew. [emoji6]

But hey, no hard feelings. Like I said above, the roster name is Willard’s, and the more rosters out there the better.

Not necessarily but there was a post a couple weeks back saying that the roster wasn’t going to be worked on and those that did last year weren’t buying the game. What am I missing?

Was that post made by TheGame or I? Some said they weren’t buying it, but that was mainly out of frustration. They have the game and things were continuing as planned. If TheGame or I came in here and said it’s not continuing, then I understand, but we never said anything.

Personally, I hope Willard and Teeds get the band back together. Their hybrid rosters were the gold standard of rerates. On the contrary, TheGame/Rovert filled a big void and kept us “rerate truthers” from being left out in the cold the last two editions! Forever thankful to you guys, and your team for picking up the slack!

Hey guys, just wanted to chime in. I posted a bit ago that our team had plans on ceasing editing for 19, but things have changed since then and we now have a little more free time than we anticipated (albeit small), plus that baseball itch is one you just can't ignore, no matter how hard you try. We now plan to move forward using the full minors roster from Ridin tonight as our base. (Kudos to that team, they do some incredible work and being able to use their roster as a base is an honor).



Willard and teeds, if you guys plan on doing your thing with the original hybrid name, that's fine. We have no issues marketing our rosters under another name.



Rovert will be posting a thread with more details on our version soon so keep an eye out for that.

Appreciate the kind words, and I hope you’ll give our new project a chance as well. The calculator is night and day different from when Willard last used it. I understand they have their methods, but ours are proven as well. So that everyone can see how we base our calculator, I am strongly considering releasing the calc as part of the roster release. It’ll be a one time thing with no updates, but this way you can see how we derive our ratings. There’s no subjectivity involved. It’s nothing more that stats, pitch fx data, and prospect rankings.

I too look into the past with fondness. I have nothing but respect for the old Hybrid team, but we all wouldn’t continue doing this project if we didn’t believe strongly in OUR methods as more than just filling in the void.

I reached out to you on Twitter when you said you were getting back into roster editing about a month ago inviting you to be part of the team. Next thing I know, you are inviting one of our key members to join up with you.

But like I said, no hard feelings. If you want to utilize your own method for rating players, that’s perfectly fine. It just seemed a bit underhanded to privately message a member of our team to join you.

Yeah but my post to you before his post WAS made by me, and it clearly stated we are carrying on the roster. You conveniently missed that. Lol

The tone is coming from us being disrespected. We have zero issue if someone went to us and said they didn’t want to merge. However, when someone claims they offered a merger of the two groups when they really just tried to steal one of our lead editors left a sour taste in our mouth. You’d think for keeping this project alive for a couple years we would at least garner some sort of respect. Without us, this project is dead with zero followers. We kept it going and then we’re kicked to the curb, messages ignored, and then twisted to make it seem like we were given an option to continue editing with the project when we didn’t.

Anyway, it’s really not that big of a deal. We just want to make it known to the fans we brought in that we’re not editing on the Hybrid roster this year by force, not by choice.
