Im with you and this is inexcusable. All im battling is the notion that the players ages being wrong is a marketing ploy to get you to by the new game lol

If its been wrong for two years now, im assuming the MLB "prospects" ages being off in a video game is not a priority of theirs. O think they are more concerned with things happening in the real game .

Im so lost. Madden 21 killed franchise mode by not letting you cant create brett favre and he not be a rookie?

No it was many of about 15 features that they killed in madden 13.. the first one being taking franchise out completely and turning it into a single player designed online CFM franchise mode

MLB the show started doing stuff like this with season mode vanishing ( I never played the mode but just saying they have slowly became a EA way since then)

You mean DD mode is their concern

Players ages being wrong screws up the way franchise works. you are gonna have a year of unbalanced retirements happen at once. but hey who cares right? it's just a number.

my point wasn't about ages being wrong as a marketing ploy it was about allowing us to edit EVERYTHING in the roster. they will never allow that because of this. they don't want us to ever have 100% complete control of a roster EVER. if they did you could play MLB 20 with 100% accurate rosters for 10 years. without buying it again. a PC version would make this possible.. another reason it won't come out on PC either. it won't attract enough DD kids.

you can't play mlb 20 for 10 years. because by the time you get to year 4 half the league will be going for rookie of the year award and be the same age.. and have to many prospects and less Vets

Believe it or not it makes a big difference to balance out franchise having the right age and rookies in the game.

Have ages, height/weight, anything like been editable for players in past versions of the game? I’m pretty sure other sports games still let you modify these things on real players so I’m not sure why we can’t in The Show. Pretty frustrating since it’s such an easy fix that I’d have no issue doing on my own if it was an option.

quite simple really the rookies of last year are going to be rookies FOREVER in mlb 20. because they have no career stats you could edit their service time as 20 years but the game will still treat them as a rookie and go for ROY.

so come the year 2025 you are gonna have guys playing for ROY for 5 years worth of players and hearing the commentators hear about someone's first strikeout a lot (this is if you are using the 2020 schedule to start )

With no y2y saves anymore your more inclined for this to happen as well.

while making a roster 5 years later for mlb 20 Mike Trout is always gonna be 29 years old.. and players will catch up to his age.

so yes you can't use mlb 20 forever unless they let us edit everything like age

as for height weight never have been able to edit it. I don't know if that has to do with it being linked with the face scans of players or they just lock it because they don't want us having the ability to do it all. we can Drop the weight for Vlad in mlb 20

You could overwrite every real player with a CAP of that player, sim and give them stats, then build a roster fully from scratch. You could edit everything that was wrong but you lose face scans, announced name, etc as well as it being a ton of work.

But... my point is that it can be done.

And... it is certainly not a way to make you buy the new game. They leave their servers up for roughly 4 years which is a lot better than 2k.

Besides... of course they want you to buy the new game but they don't block editing real players to force you into it. I am sorry, but that is nonsense.

I completely call BS about the MLB contract thing. otherwise they wouldn't let us edit service time at all.

You are right about the CAP thing however getting stats would be next to impossible you could sim random stats but you got no chance of getting them close to a 20 year of say Albert's career stats. what you gonna get stats from 2020 to 2040 then export him??

Alot of theae sports games are just a roster update with some minor features added and features subtracted. the rosters are a BIG selling point for upgrading if you are a franchise guy because that is all about what we only get upgardes for

why do you think so many threads talk about ratings or what equipment there is. players stances who now has a face scan who hasn't for 6 years.. it's because new upgraded rosters create talk.

imagine if you let us edit everything on it. even add a facescan in.. add career stats. that talk would be gone

you can't tell me the new rosters each year isn't about marketing.

Is there a foreseeable fix to these wrong prospect ages or do we just gotta deal with it? It seems crazy that I’m doing a Mariners franchise and my top prospects are literally 2 years younger than their actual age.

If this isn’t going to be fixed in anybody’s opinion I’m just going to start this franchise.

I believe they were wrong last year as well and didn't get fixed. Last year they edited minor league options so maybe they'll do ages this year? I've poked around SDS and talked to a couple a people but I can't really get an answer on this.
