I checked 6 teams ( Balt., Bost., NYY, Phil., and SF ) about a week ago, my list is just like yours. Great job on this, needs to be sent directly to SDS imo.

Fun fact: SF still has LHP Luis Gonzalez on the team, was released back in Oct. The funny thing about it, is there's a CF still in the FA list but plays for AAA Sac. River Cats, started in CF, led off, got 3 hits today, his name.............Luis Gonzalez.

Joe McCarthy signed with the Orix Buffaloes. So he’s not necessary.

Luis Gonzalez (pitcher) was indeed released. The OF was acquired from the White Sox a few weeks ago.

Anyone knows why they don't use the face scans of last year for some players? Like Heinemann had one in 21and this year they add him as a CAP? Seems weird to me.

Yeah, I'm not sure why this happens
I recall from either 19 or 20 when Clay buckholtz was in the default roster then he was removed.. then added back as an editable face , then a few weeks later added with face scan
Maybe they only have certain amount of spots for face scans .. idk but it is annoying lol

Re: Players missing in MLB 22 roster

You can add Blake walston and Ryne Nelson to this list for Arizona. Both are top 5 prospects for the Diamondbacks and both were on the default roster with face scans much like Kristian Robinson. Both are now gone. I understand they are removing guys because of the 93 player limit so that they can get triple A and double A accurate, but I really wish we could export SDS official players

FYI, these 3 players are missing from the OG roster update, Brandon Lockridge & Antonio Gomez for the Yanks, both top 30 prospects, and Christian Scott for the Mets, also a top 30 prospect.

Not really sure where to post this, but do roster updates/image updates/etc essentially overwrite everything? When I load the default roster or my save of the April 2nd roster the position changes are in effect (ie Story is a 2B for the Sox and there is no Trevor Bauer - thought he was in the default roster?)

I think they overrode the "default" roster with the April 2nd roster. It might be because of the weird offseason, so the roster that launched with the game didn't have guys like Freeman or Correa signed yet. But the default roster isn't the same as the newest one that added Suzuki.

It's interesting that they took Bauer out this year after leaving him in all of last year. Especially since it's possible (though probably unlikely if he isn't going to agree to a suspension settlement) that he could be eligible to play in like a week. There were even rumors he was gonna show up today (though I don't think that happened).

yeah the roster I am using is the 2nd one they made that put Albet on the cardinals it still has Beaur so it isn't April 2nd.so I put him in the free agents to create a spot for dodgers and IF he comes back to play I can sign him back. but has the 300 LOB Philies SS guy and there is NO WAY you can change it. the 3rd one must have been the update they did the next week that fixed him (why couldn't they just do a damm player ID fix so any franchise that started with him fixed his weight like they do beards? pisses me off)

they can fix beards and audio but NOT edit the weight. so that has screwed me for my franchise everytime I play with or play against Phillies.

anyhow it's impossible to get any roster perfect they make because they keep removing and adding players we get a YAY!!! then get a FFS. instead of just removing the stupid legends (and guys like Cole and Harper that shouldn't even be considered a legend yet) out of free agents they decide to remove REAL players instead.

rant over. I am enjoying playing my franchise. apart from no Face scan for Suzuki and Martinez and a 300 LOB SS but I can deal with it

it's 2022 having 'spots' shouldn't matter in video games we are past that stage now of room. when COD games are 200 gig.

I think the reason is simply 'he isn't known enough player or worth it'

I thought maybe it's because of the MLPAA but then Nick Martinez has a scan

It might be because of the weird offseason, so the roster that launched with the game didn't have guys like Freeman or Correa signed yet. But the default roster isn't the same as the newest one that added Suzuki.

It's interesting that they took Bauer out this year after leaving him in all of last year. Especially since it's possible (though probably unlikely if he isn't going to agree to a suspension settlement) that he could be eligible to play in like a week. There were even rumors he was gonna show up today (though I don't think that happened).

Thanks. All the years I’ve played I didn’t know it worked this way. Huh. I’ve always used Full Minors I guess and never really paid attention to the weekly SCEA updates. Interesting.

Derek Dietrich just signed a Minor league deal with the Yanks. Anyone know if he’s in game or has been removed?

they can fix beards and audio but NOT edit the weight. so that has screwed me for my franchise everytime I play with or play against Phillies.

anyhow it's impossible to get any roster perfect they make because they keep removing and adding players we get a YAY!!! then get a FFS. instead of just removing the stupid legends (and guys like Cole and Harper that shouldn't even be considered a legend yet) out of free agents they decide to remove REAL players instead.

rant over. I am enjoying playing my franchise. apart from no Face scan for Suzuki and Martinez and a 300 LOB SS but I can deal with it

Or just give us the ability to import/export any player. Then if we wanted Bauer we could take him from the default roster and put him on another. But that's not an option since we can't export Bauer. It's extremely frustrating. And yes, all the legends are annoying, especially when they're currently playing in MLB or there's 2 or 3 versions of the same player. Ugh!
