Make sure Kevan Smith is not on the Braves. For some strange reason I can't figure out SDS seems to think he's a member of the Braves when that's not true. Kevan Smith was outrighted off the Braves 40-man roster last August and refused a minor league assignment and elected to become a free agent. He is not in the Braves organization like SDS thinks.

I've noticed this quite a bit. The default rosters are so bad. I'm going player by player and verifying that they are on the Fangraphs team page, and if not, they're off the roster. Like Lion said, if they aren't on the 40 man, or on the official Triple A team website they probably won't be in the game. A and AA are reserved for top 30 prospects.

This may be a silly question but the player ratings and re-rates, etc.. are they more in conjunction with the SDS ratings or will guys significantly change between the two?

Cycloniac’s roster for example (which was great over the last few years) was VERY different than the SDS rosters.

Only reason I’m asking is for the purpose of sliders, different ratings overall and pitching buffs (like Cycloniac roster) make sliders play different.

Awesome !! I do have to ask why Vladdy dropped to a 91 overall in your ratings, he mashed 48 dingers last year. Also curious as to why Lourdes Gurriel Jr went dropped from an 87 to 80 ? That seems like a major drop. Otherwise I think you guys have done a stand up job.

I just hope my boy Cody Bellinger isn’t dropped off a cliff. Only because he’s my favorite player lol. I have dreams of hitting 45-50 homers every year with him.

Vladdy lower because of defensive number. His offensive stats are high up there.


I never had Gurriel as an 87 tbh. 80 may be slightly low, but his potential rating will allow him to seamlessly transition into that 80-85 range which he fits well in in terms of his real life value

Currently, I have him as an 84 OVR with 93 potential. Along those same lines, I have Christian Yelich as an 84 OVR w/ 97 potential I think.


Two guys that are incredibly difficult to figure out right now. Bumps in the road or signs of things to come? I'll definitely be doing some more analysis on both of them prior to publication to see if current overalls, potentials, or both will need to be updated for either of them.

Both of those are fair imo. I wouldn’t even be mad if they were lower ovr, but I am not complaining. I think it’s just injuries for both of them. The shoulder for Belly and the back for Yelich.

More likely than overall, I’ll bump potentials down so they don’t exponentially grow
