As far as stamina goes, if there are any pitchers who's rating doesn't match how I believe they will be used, I have started to trade 1 point for stamina for 1 point of durability. So if a guy who projects to start has a stamina rating of 45, I can raise it 20 points or however much I want, but I would decrease his durability by 20 points as well. I believe Armor & Sword came up with that but I am not 100% certain. It creates a cool risk vs reward scenario when stretching guys out.

Anyway that's sort of off topic, just a suggestion for anyone who wants higher stamina but also wants to keep things somewhat close to today's game.

Excited to check out the roster when it comes out!

Can also do it in reverse, theoretically. So guys who have injury problems as starters become more durable as relievers. Definitely some good ideas.

I've been thinking more about this and this is a good idea in regards to pitchers recovering between starts over the course of a season. If a pitcher throws 115 pitches one start unless he's given more time between starts he's going to be more tired and not be able to go as deep the next time out. That helps to keep the realism intact. It also helps with some guys that do well the beginning of the season but fall off in the second half.

I've been thinking more about this and this is a good idea in regards to pitchers recovering between starts over the course of a season. If a pitcher throws 115 pitches one start unless he's given more time between starts he's going to be more tired and not be able to go as deep the next time out. That helps to keep the realism intact. It also helps with some guys that do well the beginning of the season but fall off in the second half.

The sheer amount of depth that could be added to this game, but SDS can't even be bothered to scratch the surface.


It's pretty frustrating for hardcore sim guys like myself

I'll try to answer a few non ratings related questions that I see popping up here.

This roster is based on the first SDS update after the game came out. Waiting for a couple of players to maybe be scanned in just didn't make sense. We want this out as fast as possible. I think face scans for players already in the game carry over to existing rosters, so guys like Josh Donaldson should be updated.

I'm doing faces and equipment for all created prospects. The rosters were a disgusting mess. We will have 895 of the 900 "Top 30" prospects via www.mlbpipeline.com. There were two 16 year olds and three guys i just could not fit in. I would say we are creating 300-400 prospects that were not on the default rosters. The default rosters are so bad guys.

If you want to see the guys I am creating, you can go to my website and click on a team. Go to the bottom where the top 30 prospects are listed. Whoever doesn't have "Yes" next to their name is not in the game, and we are making them. To get an idea of how much work we are actually doing to get those prospects in the game instead of middling AA guys or guys who are not realistic prospects anymore.

I am doing equipment for all of those players as well. I go to google images and find the best image I can find and go by there. I also try to find glove pictures and bat pictures. It's not always easy, but I try to get the best information I can find for all equipment and batting stances.

The rosters will be accurate as of opening day. I recorded all 28 man rosters via fangraphs. Of course the rosters only allow 26 players, but the opening day roster will be completely accurate. I say opening day, so MacKenzie Gore and others will still be in triple A. I will also do my best to make sure the AAA rosters are accurate as well. Lineups will also be accurate, courtesy of what fangraphs has for that too.

We also have contract extensions, like Marte and Ke'Bryan Hayes.

We are creating guys who aren't in the roster right now. Cano, Suzuki, Marquez, McKay and others. Unfortunately they won't have their stats but the service time will be correct.

I'll be posting a ton of roster and ratings videos on the ole' YouTube channel once the roster is released. Way more information than anyone could ever ask for.

It's gonna be awesome fellas. I'm glad I don't have to do this alone, and I know the rest of the team feels the same way.
