Would you be able to post a list of which players ratings were updated in v2? I already started my franchise save but I could grab the new ratings from the spreadsheet.

Really appreciate all the hard work on these rosters & sliders!

Anybody understand why the regional broadcast option is locked in the franchise play?

I think on special occasions like Opening Day you only can pick the Show Broadcast Theme, not the regional broadcast.
          Hope that answers your question

Awesome work!!! These are opening day, correct? Are there any plans to make an updated transaction roster?

Could you add on your first post how you setup your bullpen or how you set up the other teams' bullpen with 30-team-control?

Think you already mentioned it here and I found the post, but if I start a new franchise maybe I won't find it again, and i think it's pretty useful to add to your franchise setup spoiler.

Re: The TrueSim Roster Project: MLB 22

Great job with the rosters, I have a question on how you feel the best way to dole out speed ratings within the team/league.

Jarred Duran is the fastest guy on the Red Sox, and it’s not even close. His home to first, bolts, and sprint speed are way above the rest of the team, but speed is tricky because “way” faster is a half a second!

Trevor Story has a speed rating in this roster of 94. Duran has a rating of 85. So, I need to fix this, but I am looking for a calculation that makes sense, as Franchy Cordero is also faster than Story, but not so much that one should be 10 points higher than the other.

Can I use a percentage? Is there a calculation based on sprint speed league-wide, that I average between the fastest guy in the MLB and calculate from there? If Jarren is the 6th fastest guy in MLB, does he start at 93 and his teammates are adjusted from there?

I’d love to not just arbitrarily assign a guy a speed rating, but I am not sure what to use as a baseline to make adjustments.

                      Insights?

I know that from last year they base speed rating not only on overall sprint speed but also on baserunning ability. I’m not the best one to explain it so I’ll let Cycloniac do it himself, but I know that he has a very in-depth reason for the speed ratings.

Cycloniac, do you have any recommendations for slider changes if using Quick Counts? I restarted my franchise to use these rosters because they are incredible, and I’m wanting to catch back up quickly by using Quick Counts. Just not sure what (if anything) needs to be changed.

I’d love to not just arbitrarily assign a guy a speed rating, but I am not sure what to use as a baseline to make adjustments.

                            Insights?

This year, sprint speed plays a significant role in our speed calculations, but we do factor in position, defense, SBs, XBHs and GIDP rate in. There's a check factored into the calculation this year that keeps results realistic. I call it the Jose Ramirez Rule.

Jose Ramirez was tricky because since he's such a great baserunner, he would get a 99, but if you look at his sprint speed, he's not necesserily that fast. So, the rule is that if our in-house speed value is 25 points higher than the player's sprint speed, we use sprint speed. Same thing applies to Jonathan Villar. We don't want to inflate too much, but think players should get credit for more than just sprint speed.

If you wanted to use sprint speed only, the formula is:
                            (Sprint Speed * 13)-300

We used the higher sprint speed of the past 2 seasons (2021 and 2020) unless the player is a rookie, where we used 2022 sprint speeds.

So, if we use the highest of the 2022 and 2021 sprint speed averages, you'll get:
Jarran Duran - 29.3 sprint speed, 81 speed rating
Trevor Story - 28.7 sprint speed, 73 speed rating
Franchy Cordero - 28.7 sprint speed, 73 speed rating

Been checking the ratings out. Really good roster! Julio Rodriguez has a lot of pop…wondering why his ratings are low…I know dude is young but he is a monster. Also, Ty France all around great hitter. Jesse Winker…coming along lately but his power stats seem inflated. Suarez has a cannon at 3rd…limited range.
