Looks great. Will you guys eventually try to make Vaughn Grissom look more realistic? Haven’t seen anyone get close to it yet. Yours is closest so far though. Otherwise, love what you guys did

Re: 2023 Franchise Fidelity to Reality Roster Project (Official Thread)
Players I created have correct equipment based on the most clear google images. As far as existing players, at some point we have to trust the base roster did SOMETHING right. Editing equipment for every single player was not a priority, that would have taken way too much time.Comment

Re: 2023 Franchise Fidelity to Reality Roster Project (Official Thread)
I posted this in it's own thread as well as I plan to add to it going forward but I thought I'd share here as I've seen questions to stats and sliders with this roster.
---
I put together a rough spreadsheet to enter data for comparing re-rated roster simulated seasons to the MLB averages for stats comparison. I figured I'd share to get some feedback and for others to use a reference in visualizing how some of these heavily re-rated rosters play out.
The first version of this is (2) franchise seasons simulated with 100% auto CPU control using Quag's Fidelity to Reality Roster and default All-Star Sliders.
I do plan to do this with other re-rated rosters and with individual slider sets to see how they play out. There are no opinions or personal feelings put into this, it is simply raw data for stat comparison to set a baseline for slider edits. Please don't expect perfection as this was put together in an afternoon. If there is enough interest and support I'll be happy to add, change and adjust going forward.
Supporting Info:
1. "Statistics" page is populated with in-game Top 10 League Leaders in each category and compared to Top 10 League Leaders stats from Baseball Reference for 2021-2022. Reason for this is that I feel if re-rates are going to skew outcomes you will see it in top performers quicker than overall averages.
2. The shaded cell next to each category is the variance in comparison to the MLB average. Green <5% - Yellow 5%><10% - Red >10%

Really happy to see that a lot of rate-based numbers you have (e.g. BA) were right on point with real life. Ya love to see itComment

Re: 2023 Franchise Fidelity to Reality Roster Project (Official Thread)
What exactly was the rationale behind making the Pirates number one pitching prospect a Reliever w/ 8 stamina?
Or their number 3 pitching prospect as a Closer w/ 10 stamina?
Or having a guy like Plawecki on their roster when he isn't in real life?
Doesn't seem like you gave much effort at all to the Buccos.Comment

Pitching prospect Stamina’s and roles were based on fangraphs future role projection for said player. Not every pitching prospect ends up as a SP. You can re-rate the players based on your projection.
Plaweckj was released on March 27th. He just wasn’t released from the roster in game as we’d already completed Pittsburgh at that point.
The same amount of effort went into each team.Last edited by JWDixon120; 04-16-2023, 05:39 PM.- Franchise Fidelity to Reality Roster out now! (MLB 25)

"Poised to compete for a rotation spot when 2023 camp breaks, Ortiz is one of a few high-upside Pirates youngsters who look like they’d fit in a contender’s rotation." - Fangraphs on Ortiz this year
"The emergence of a consistently above-average third offering reignited Burrows’ projection as a starter (he had been projected as a reliever here in previous seasons, in part due to injuries)." - Fangraphs on Burrows this year
"Given their respective shapes, it’s easy to see how those pitches play off of one another, and they were the reason Burrows presented a traditional relief look prior to his changeup’s development. He would slot among Priester and Ortiz on this list had he completed a totally healthy 2022." - Fangraphs on Burrows this year.
As for Plawecki, so in three weeks you guys didn't update any transactions before this roster drop? What date would one have to go back to edit this roster to update all the transactions?
I apologize if this is taken the wrong way, tone always gets lost in posts. I can't speak on other people's experience, but as a diehard Buccos fan, this roster really disappointing.Comment

Honest question, from what year did you look for fangraphs prospects reports?

Fangraphs reports were brought in around December-January iirc.
Most transaction are updated for teams up to Opening day. No offense, but we’re not really sweating the inclusion of a 32 Year old AAAA catcher. He was just overlooked. There are 2,790 players on the roster so there will be hiccups.
You can always change the ratings to fit your view of the player. The prospects were rated and positioned based on 3 scouting reports.
I understand you may think we slighted the Pirates, but I promise you we did our best with every team based on reports.
Here’s a good tip I posted over on our Discord:
Here’s a quick reminder that sometimes I think people may forget:
We make these rosters for everyone. All of the editors and creators for these rosters are fans of teams IRL. Viator created this system for a better franchise experience and to remove personal bias.
Guys are rated based on their statistical performance, not hunches or feelings. Prospects are rated using 3 different scouting reports sourced from the great Prospects Live and MLB Pipeline, and Fangraphs.
When the roster drops, and you guys get your hands on it, you may disagree with something. That is perfectly fine. Just manually edit that player how you see fit.
Personally I think a handful of guys are overrated or underrated based on personal bias, so as soon as the roster drops, I’ll download it and edit those guys for my own franchise.
Or if I want a better CAP for a certain player, I’ll make it myself or get one from the Vault.
Just a reminder because sometimes I think people get a little too caught up in “why isn’t x player rated this or that?”
You guys can always bump a player as you see fit! Just remember this roster was made to play as close to IRL baseball as we could make it, so any deviations will change that for that player.Last edited by JWDixon120; 04-16-2023, 06:19 PM.- Franchise Fidelity to Reality Roster out now! (MLB 25)
