I'm wondering if this was due to the lockout last year? Maybe with shortened spring training they couldn't make it to do scans? Would just be weird cause it seems like they added a bunch the last couple years even with the pandemic.

I guess now that there are minor leaguers with scans in the game there are less players that need updates than usual each year, but still kind of disappointing. I know they were back at ST this year so maybe they are planning on patching some scans in.

Kyle Wright and Mike Soroka look hideous. Kyle Wright still has long hair with a goatee. He doesn't have a goatee.

still made no sense why kwan had no audio and even updated audio when he became a hitting machine last year. they could have at least added in audio plenty of other minors had audio.

there is no consistencies with the roster every year that ever makes sense lol

Yea you always bring audio up. I dont play the game with the sound off so I have no inout on audio related things.

I'm referring to facescans. They dont add facescans based on performance or anything like that.

Audio linked to face scans no no audio = no no face scan, and vice versa
Oh they would.. if a player goes nuts be sure they would add a face scan in.

When have they just randomly changed a CAP to a facescan during the year? The only facescanned players I have ever seen them add during the season were ppl who need that mandatory 1 game played or suspended players.

And I agree, they always update the facial hair on yankees players. That's something else though.

This is a total joke. The quality of this game has been pretty bad for a "next gen" game anyway, and basically just giving us last year's roster for a brand-new game is ridiculous. Add that in with all the goofy looking CAPs and goofy looking Minor League rosters, this game is not worth $70 bucks. I don't give a **** about virtual baseball cards, yet that's all they seem to focus on.

Seriously. IMO new facescans for the year is like a minimum that we should get.

So glad that I'm on the "Every three or four years" train. I might stretch it to every 6-8 years. I bought 18 on a discount. That edition convinced me to walk away until I crawled back for MLB 22. I'm so excited for GTA VI in the next 3 years or so... and in 2030, maybe I might scoop up The Show on a Summer sale. There has been very little in the way of progression in this title since, what.... 2016?

They have updated CAP to facescans before any player with a facescan gets the audio as well. check out Houston's roster update threads from the last few years he would say who got a updated face scan on each update. HOWEVER, they remove players with face scans as well to add new ones like last year.

There were less than 20 scans added last year.went through the list and suzuki and nick martinez were the only NEW face scans added and that was on the fridt update after they accrued service time. (And Martinez actually played in the mlb before but not sure if he had a facescan in). The rest of the list were ppl like Trever gott, robinson cano etc. PPl who were suspended or missed the year prior. Im not referring to them. Like we know tatis will gett added once hes back. Im not referring to him as an added facescan.

We are referring to the plethora of players who got service time last year that our still caps. Usually more than 90% of these players are scanned the year after.

Not holding out hope, but do we think a guy like Jordan Walker could get a scan in the next update after he plays a few games for STL? Even if they would just fix his face, I don’t need an exact fade scan, although it would be nice.

do we know for sure the reason a particular player doesn't have a scan is SDS's fault?
they can hardly kidnap a player and force him to take time to be scanned. I think it was like 7 or 8 years before Mike Trout to be willing to be scanned, seems like it took a long while for Jose Abreu also.
I can't imagine there is a player out there w/o a scan who is telling the Studio he'll agree to sit for a scanning,
but SDS tells him ''nah, thanks, that's okay, we're good''

We would have to say no, because I can’t really think of a player ever that they just fixed their face. And he left off. We literally only got like three new face scans this year so I guess there’s always a chance that there’s a sort of day one type update that just mass imports a ton of different scans.

Christopher morel is horrendous. He was an early call up and basically played 3/4 of the year last year. They also updated him last year to where it was decent with minor tweaks. This years is almost to bad to be laughable.

Yes we do know its SDS "fault" that only new facescans in the new edition of a sports game are Steven Kwan, Jose azocar, and Jack suwinski.

More of the issue to me is that they don't import facescans in real time. It seems that this spring trainings facescans get put in the next years game. But we know, from the Asian players, that they weren't scanned last spring training because they weren't in the mlb but they get those players in with scans in the first couple weeks after they debut.

So we KNOW they can add facescans. Why they don't is beyond me but I've never had an issue with it. Just seems like they didn't scan anyone last spring training I guess.
