Just a great all around game for me... I was patient at the plate, hit Cashner hard, chased him from the game in the 4th... Matt Harvey dominated as he should... Still pissed I didn't get that no-no.

Hey guys,

At home sick from work today, so I figured I would try to play some test games before I'm too drugged to do so.

Started a test series against the Cubs last night, but was feeling like garbage, so I didn't log the stats from the first game. Bottom line, I got my a*$ handed to me 7-3. Strike percentages were on the high side because both teams swung and missed A LOT. Travis Wood went 7 strong innings. That's a big deal to me, since most of the CPU pitchers I face are out after around 5 innings. I think that this is attributed to the fact that I'm seeing slightly less offense with the Timing slider at 4, as well as the fact that Foul Frequency is at 4, which leads to less long at-bats. Right now, I'm happy, but I'm keeping an eye on my strikeout totals right now. No adjustments to be made at this time.

Thanks for all the props that you guys give for the sliders, man.

I don't do it to get complimented....I do it because I apparently have OCD when it comes to baseball video games. LOL. Seriously, I'm glad the hard work is appreciated, because I just want to share my experience with others in the OS community.

I equally appreciate the stats, input, and feedback that you guys give as well. The feedback you guys give from your test games are what make this set as great as possible.

Another well pitched game by both sides...This is polar opposite from the M's games that I was playing. It looks like the timing drop to 4 man the power go down for me, but it is not explaining why the other team can't hit but only 2 games so I am far from worried.

- Tony, like you, I think there is a power outage occurring, at least when it comes to home runs. I've hit 4 doubles in the last two games, but haven't hit any homers since dropping Timing to 4. However, I'm not experiencing a lack of CPU offense, as the Cubs scored 13 runs in my last test series, and had a healthy dose of extra base hits, including home runs. I'm thinking the CPU offensive sliders are pretty close to being perfect as well.

- Since I made the adjustments to the CPU Starter/Reliever Stamina sliders, I've been seeing realistic in-game results. As I mentioned earlier, I've seen CPU starters going a little deeper into the game against me, which is a welcomed change, and I also see the CPU managers making wise/realistic decisions with Manager Hook set at 4. I think the combination of those two sliders, along with CPU Reliever Stamina at 0, is really yielding some realistic results.

Okay, I'm starting to think that dropping to Human Timing wasn't a good idea, in order to decrease my batting average and slugging percentage by a few points. In nearly five games of testing, here are my observations:

1. My strikeouts have noticeably increased.
2. CPU pitchers have been staying in longer.
3. Lots more swing and misses on pitches that normally would be put in play or fouled off.
4. My hit totals have decreased every game, with 2 being my lowest this season.
5. Home runs on the user side are not occurring.

When I told Tonyfire a couple of days ago that we should stay away from lowering Human Power, for fear that it would affect extra base totals as a whole, I was confident that lowering the Timing slider would be the cure for that issue. Well, it turns out that I was wrong. From the five test games that I've played, it seems like lowering Timing even by one click, has a drastic affect not only on extra base hit totals, but total hits per game. I mean, I wanted to lower my batting average by 5 points or so, not 20. As I've said several times throughout the thread, sometimes lowering a slider slightly can have a great affect (positive or negative) on the rest of the set as a whole. Just like I found out when I briefly tweaked the CPU Pitcher Control/Consistency sliders, adjusting the Timing slider was not the answer to what I was looking for as far as lowering extra base hits/batting average.

Personally, I feel that five games is enough to call that a failed experiment. And based on the stats that I've seen fro Kid24 and Tonyfire, I'd say that we're seeing the same types of results.

I will be moving Timing back to 5, and lowering Human Power to 4 for further testing.

So what I'm trying to say is.....Yes, Tonyfire, you were right. LOL

I made an excel speadsheet if you want to check it out. I got 2 games on the spread sheet with the timing back at 5 and power down to 4. Check it out when you get the chance. And if anyone want they can download it and improve on it if they want just give me a little credit...
