Just wanted to post this for Gagnon (again, I'm on Default AS but Armor is pretty much on Default and you had asked about K's. I also only use QC's):

    So far...

    James Shields 6.2 IP 3 H 0 BB 11K

Easily my best outing of the year. Hope I don't jinx it. He's still going!

      Haha! I blew it! LOL!

I had 2 outs in the 8th and had got my 12 K. The QC Gods gave me a 1-2 count so I figured, "Hell! One swing and miss and I'll get my lucky 13th! Who cares if I'm at 116 pitches?"

Back to back homers later it hit me that my ability to mismanage my own team is second to none.

A word of advice: Don't try and pad your stats. Play the game realistically and you will succeed.

So you're rolling with default AS this year? I remember you were trying dynamic last year.

So far in my couple games I've just been using default AS. Usually used Armor's sliders in the past.

I don't want to derail the thread. Armor does an excellent job. I just like to post here because it's pretty much the only place on OS where I can find Classic/QC/AS level players to talk to.

Him and I have helped eachother with tweaks in the past too.

Quickly, in response to you, I say I'm on AS but only because I turned the slider for DD to zero because it feels like a good fit. Like I'm living at home. That said, I won't hesitate to turn it back up or even adjust a few sliders if needed if things get out of whack.

Armor, why injuries at 7? Were you not seeing enough at the default setting?

Armor, I was reading the way you play with these sliders and wanted to ask how you differentiate a ball the catcher wants high from the ones he wants low. I can tell most of the time but get confused when he wants the ball high. There doesn't seem to be a big difference in the sign he gives.

lol yeah I have had so many times where I have question my self thinking maybe I should go to the bull pen and then don't only to then give up like a big HR or double. Heck last game I kind of did that thinking about trying a sac bunt when I had a guy at first with 0 outs in the 10th inning only to then hit into a double play. Lucky I end up scoring in that inning 2 runs any way to when 4-2.

I am only getting about 2 per game 10 games into my Reds season.
I am 6-4 and scoring runs I just don't get extra base hits.
Through 10 games Votto only has 1 double, he does have 3 hrs but one double is just crazy.
                  Bruce also only has 1.
Just wondering if anyone else was seeing this.

I'm with you there. I have a much smaller sample size with only 3 games played and a few ST games mixed in. 27 hits, 1-2B, 1-3B, 8-HR. Every ball is either a single or a HR with no in between. I'm not seeing a lot of variety. Once again, very small sample size. I switched it up to Power-4 and Solid Hits-5. See where it goes from there.

                    - If I have any question to location I pull back R2 to get the API sign with the location. I typically choose my location based on the hitter and situation. But if I want an absolute from my catcher I ask for the sign again and it will flash the location

                    - Correct. I like the realistic amount of injuries I see at 7 both playing in game and simming

                    - I have seen all kinds of extra base hits, bloopers, gap doubles and I have also seen what we all have been clamoring for.....doubles and triples down the line and bouncing around in the corner of the outfield. Last night playing in my Year 2 Yankees chise I ripped a ball with Ellsbury at Wrigley Field down the right field line. The ball went into the corner and I had a slide in triple. It was fantastic.

Play tons of games and I assure you, that you will see the best hit variety in this games history. I have played 50 plus games now on 15....it's in there. This game is about sample size. And it's baseball. You will go through stretches of all kinds of randomness in pitching, hitting and fielding. The longer you play, the more you see.

Ok. Just wanted to make sure. Was a little nervous to put it at 7 because I was worried I would be losing players to injuries at a high rate. If it appears to be pretty balanced, I will give it a shot then. Thanks.

Personally, i always throw the pitch called by the catcher. If the catcher signals a location away I will choose whether I want to throw it up or down and away. Same for when he calls for an inside pitch. On pitches where my catcher doesnt signal a location, I choose my own location. If I dont like the pitch called Ill choose the pitch my catcher called and then immediately step off. I can do this once per inning. 80% of the time he signals a new pitch, but if he doesnt "oh well."

The hit variety is so random I love it. Balls passing under gloves in the infield and outfield hits going over the outfielders head which is something we didn't see too much last year. Great job Armor with these tweaks.

Have been seeing the same thing. Several times I have hit a ball up either the 1st or 3rd base line between the base and fielder. Love making that decision when rounding 2nd to either hold up or kick it in and make the run for 3rd.

Re: Armor & Sword's MLB The Show 15 Timed (Directional)/Classic Simulation Sliders

Just finished the opening 3 game series with the Reds vs. the Pirates using the AS settings playing full games. I lost 2-0, won 4-1, and lost 6-1. My concerns are...

-Despite hitting .287, I only scored 5 runs and hit 0 HR's in the series.
-My pitchers gave up 0 walks over 3 games...not a single walk.
-The baserunning is glitchy, I think. I had a blunder in the 3rd game where a runner from 1st ran to 2nd, even though it was occupied. This killed a rally and cost me at least 1 run. I've seen a few of these.

The biggest concerns are the lack of HR's and HUM walks. I did hit 2 balls off of the wall that were nearly HR's, so maybe it will even out.
