Re: Armor & Sword's MLB The Show 15 Timed (Directional)/Classic Simulation Sliders
Question: Has anyone been caught stealing yet? Now granted, I get that base stealers in real life are about 70% successful and that my sample size is small, but so far I'm a perfect 10 for 10, and most of the time I've swiped the bags with ease. Last year was completely different, maybe a shade too difficult. Thoughts?
also he can steal 3rd with ease also.Comment

Re: Armor & Sword's MLB The Show 15 Timed (Directional)/Classic Simulation Sliders
In regards to stealing bases. Here is exactly how I steal.
1. I never take more than the default pre set lead.
2. I never leave early...meaning I do not hold down the L2 button and then release it before the pitcher goes into his wind up.
3. I only pre-set my steal attempt by pointing to the base runner I want to steal and pressing the L2 button (get the rumble on my controller) and then he takes off as soon as the pitcher begins his wind up.
I have been thrown out. But my success rate is high with top line known base thieves...as it should be.
I want to play till the all-star break with my second year Yankees franchise (I only played 4 games on 14 with it before I carried it over) and see where the SB numbers land. Now Playing on PS5:

Re: Armor & Sword's MLB The Show 15 Timed (Directional)/Classic Simulation Sliders
Are any of you guys using these sliders but putting CPU hitting back to default (5). I'm considering putting (especially solid hits) all CPU hitting back to default. The CPU offense seems a bit nerfed. Other than one game (in Colorado mind you) I've yet to give up more than four runs. Lester has yet to give up a run in two starts. I know it's possible to get shelled as I did in Colorado but I'd like to see the CPU be slightly more consistent on offense.Comment

Frequency so you get realistic strikeout numbers and the cpu not being able to endlessly foul off pitch after pitch after pitch. With it at 4 you still have battles but you win some with out pitches that you should.
Solid hits at 4 gives you a more robust hit variety where not everything is solid wood all the time.
Power, contact, timing...all at default. I am getting all kinds of games. Now Playing on PS5:

Check back in two weeks or so. I will have played over 20-25 games by then in offline franchise and have a clear grasp on anything or if anything needs a tweak.
My hunch is no.Now Playing on PS5:

The only two sliders adjusted (and both are at 4) is foul frequecy and solid hits.

Re: Armor & Sword's MLB The Show 15 Timed (Directional)/Classic Simulation Sliders
Hey Armor after about 35 games into my Franchise im sold on youre sliders and settings. About 15 games in i started to notice my walk numbers as a batter and a pitcher were really off. I just wasnt seeing them. Also i was striking out quite a bit this year swinging at everything. I dropped pitch speed from 5 to 3 and finally decided to give quick counts a shot. My games go by at a decent pace and i get better walk chances. Im also striking out less which is always good.
I also finally let go of using the strike zone. Once i got about five games in realized how much better i could see the ball, i could hold off on pitches on the black even better than before and how much more immersive a clean screen really is. Im no longer blindly swinging at pitches like a changeup low and out of the zone or a slider away out of the zone in a righty vs righty matchup. Im playing the best games ive ever played with your set after years of playing differently. The classic pitching w/broadcast camera also made pitching fun and challenging for me after years of using meter and classic catcher angles and looking at the same screen for 9 innings. Im glad i made the jump.
Im using TNK's custom batting camera but everything else is just as you have it for the Hybrid Quick Counts set. I feel im just about ready to jump to All Star from Veteran in batting though
Im getting all different kinds of games and streaks after about 20 games since making these changes. Im fully invested now especially since all my stats have started to line up with the rest of the league and i feel like getting through a full season wont take as long as it used to lol. Thanks again!Last edited by Rickyfins75; 04-23-2015, 01:41 PM.Fortis et fidusComment

Re: Armor & Sword's MLB The Show 15 Timed (Directional)/Classic Simulation Sliders
I updated the OP in regards to Quick Counts.
I now feel like the CPU/HUM stamina pitching settings for full games work just fine this year on quick counts. I tested them for a while now.
But if your happy with your results with the original settings I left them there.
Enjoy.Now Playing on PS5:

Re: Armor & Sword's MLB The Show 15 Timed (Directional)/Classic Simulation Sliders
These sliders are spot on for all star QC. The only concern I've had is stealing for both user and cpu are too successful.
In regards to all star full games the game plays much different. It seems like if my pitcher throws strikes early on the cpu offense just becomes stagnant all game.
Quick counts is the way to go with these sliders. Good job on these Armor. The walks, strikeouts are there for both user and cpu in QC. It's nice to actually have games where I walk 5+ because in a full game I rarely if ever saw that.
I'm still having a hard time getting the cpu to swing and miss before they have 2 strikes. Is there a special way to hold the button on classic pitching?Comment

As far as getting the CPU to swing and miss early in the count....it's tough...no doubt. I have far more success on 2 strike "out" type pitches (sliders, curves, country fastballs etc) I do get decent succes at looking strikes early in the count if I throw curves or changes for first pitch strikes.
As far as classic pitching it is a true feel mechanic and knowing each pitcher on your staff is a key ingredient. Also I will stress again the reason I have "warm up pitchers" on is to get a feel for that pitchers stuff for that particualr day and how long or short I need to hold down the button (before max effort kicks in) to get the break, spin or cut I want.
And again do not be afraid to throw out of the strike zone early or late in the count. You will be surprised at your results.
Rock on.
