I also set the pitch speed to (5) default to see what these pitch edits look like in game before adjusting. Other than that though, I am using your exact non-quick counts All-Star/All-Star sliders.

    Awesome to hear 55.

I too am a former MVP player. And I also started on meter pitching. But once I tried Classic.....I never looked back. I have a feeling if you put in the time with Classic pitching....you too will never go back. It does take commitment to adapt and get good at it. But once you do you will happy you made the change.

    Or maybe not.

I am testing the following using a test franchise with OSFM 2.1 with the new pitch edits (Riden's roster as I want stock SCEA player ratings and only pitch edits).

      Fielder speed - 0

      Baserunner speed - 2

Will check back here in 2-3 weeks with my thoughts and any new tweaks. This is the final area of the game I want to nail for the style I play (auto field, manual throw).

With these adjustments, are you leaving arm strength and fielder reaction at what you have? Or adjusting them as well?

Leaving as is. I like where they are. They are independent of fielder speed. I can see where arm strength can be a counter factor to runner speed....but that is the point of slowing down runners who should be thrown out that are not.

Good/great arms should act like good/great arms on slower guys. Speed is overpowered on the base paths. And speed is overpowered in the OF this year.

I love infield play at these exact settings.

I think this finding from others here on the forum will take the slider set to another level of ratings driven realism. That has been the biggest thing to get a pulse on this year. The new outfield speed, and lines taken to the ball. And getting base running under control to a more realistic clip.

I'm first on Base on balls allowed giving up 7 and last on Base on balls walking 7 times after 9 games. Any adjustments I can make to improve these figures to make them more realistic?

Should probably play more games. 9 games is a small sample size.

True but these are my general figures no matter what. I have restarted about 5 or 6 franchises whilst rosters came out so them figures are just my current one I'm sticking with now as the nats. What figures are others getting.?

I have played 27 games so far and I have walked close to 90 times as the Phillies. I believe I have allowed about 60-65 walks on the pitching side.

You use quick counts though. That changes a LOT.

In my first series with the Cubs vs. the Cardinals, I have walked 12 times, struck out 24 times (12 in game 2 vs. Wacha's ridiculous curveball) and on the other side I have struck out 24 batters and walked 8 of them.

Two games have gone to extras though. One went 10 innings and another went 11.

OSFM v2.1 with pitch edits and quick counts OFF.

                              Fielder speed - 0

                              Baserunner speed - 2

Will check back here in 2-3 weeks with my thoughts and any new tweaks. This is the final area of the game I want to nail for the style I play (auto field, manual throw).

I've been playing with these setting the last three games against the Royals and I love the fielder speed at 0. I have BR speed at 1 though just trying it out.

I hit a ball over Cain's head with Brantley for a triple. With his speed, that would've never happened. And it wasn't wonky where I felt like I cheated the game. I crushed the ball hard and it got out there fast.

I was thrown out at home with David Murphy (51 speed) and it wasn't one of those thrown out cuz the baserunner was too aggressive like I see a lot with auto base running. This was a pretty close play at the plate and I felt okay with getting thrown out with a slower Murphy.

I've seen balls drop in the outfield a couple times that I know for a fact would've been caught before, or at least saw a diving attempt to catch it, or we see one of those bonehead dives that miss and it's not a triple instead of a single.

Outfielder arm strength I have at 3 too to compensate some for BR speed. Working out great so far imo

It's early but so far I love what I see with fielder speed at 0 and runner speed at 2.

Bloop singles are back in play more gappers too and it feels realistic. Outfielder ratings really matter far more here.

A couple of more weeks getting a great sample size are needed to make it offifical on the OP.

                                Stay tuned!
