Re: Graduated Sliders: MLB The Show '15

My most recent recording shows the league stats after 6 games. Just had a really solid game against Nats, but we struggled even when we hit the ball hard.

Keep in mind, I made the most recent adjustments after game 3 to increase AI strikeouts at the plate, thus decreasing assists and GIDP.

    Looking really good!

Tigers are at 31-38 but we picked up a strong win in New York with a 4 HR performance by the team (Kinsler with 2 putting him 3rd in All Star voting for 2B). Cespedes is the 2nd rated LF for All Star voting. Cabrera has been awful for me. I can't hit with him and he's at 4 HRs. Ugh.

Anyway, I'm close to pulling the trigger on a deal that would send SP Alfredo Simon to Houston for OF Colby Rasmus. We're getting nothing from Gose and we have absolutely no one who can lead off against righties. Both Simon and Rasmus are FAs after this season, both are on the trade block, and Houston has 2 SP with ERAs hovering around 5.

Oh my where do I begin!! First of all again, love the set. Second I finally started my Pirates season last night and it did not disappoint until about the 8th inning... Finally ended up losing 7-4 on a walk off 3 run job by the Reds in the bottom of the 10th...

They started the scoring in the first on a solo hr, can't remember names, it was too late. I was really patient and working the count last night, eventually getting out to a 4-1 lead after 4. Cole was really working and pitching great, love meter now by the way, I have hit a batter and walked two in this game. Well long story short, Cole was up to almost 90 pitches and gave up a homer in the eighth so I decided to turn to my BP to hold and go for the save. Brought in my set up guy, and that's when the flood gates opened up. He blew the lead and gave up 2 runs, which ended up leading to our demise in the bottom of the tenth and losing 7-4. Lol.

I'm also using auto fielding but I still try to control the fielders as I have always done this in the past. Still getting used to it.

Are you getting a lot of complete games around the league? I have had, I believe I counted 6 now after the first two days. Something that just sticks out some probably due to the fact others are saying something about it. That's actually where a lot of other "issues" people are having, has raised my awareness. Well sorry for the long post and I'm continuing to enjoy your set, so far the best and most challenging one here.

Awesome! I'm glad you're enjoying the set and that they are getting strong results for you.

I am seeing a lot of complete games. In my new Phillies franchise, there's about 6% of the time a SP is throwing a complete game across the league. When compared to MLB on 6-21-15, that percentage seems to be closer to 1.5%. So we're seeing 4 times the amount of complete games as we should, when using my small sample size.

The question now is, is it a slider thing, or is that how the game is? You mentioned others are talking about it? I'll have to browse around for that.

If it's a slider issue, I'm betting it's more to do with SP stamina being at 7 than it is the manager hook being at 3, but it could also be a combination of both. I'm a bit surprised that SCEA would allow such sliders to have such an impact on simulate games as well, and I wonder if we could even do a "dead ball era" test or something to see if the hitting sliders do too.

Reading around, it seems the best idea is to PLAY your games with SP stamina at 7 (horray us!) and MR at 0. Then, when you simulate games, set both to 0.

What I actually think would make this easier is to just leave it at 0, but then once you start a game, manually change it back to 7 for both teams. However, this may end up saving itself upon your game's completion, so just double check that its' back to 0 before moving on to the next day.

I think leaving it at 0 and starting a game may be the best play here. If it stays at 7 when you start a game, the cpu has already Simmed games before or after you depending on your time zone your playing in. So if you start it at zero then the rest of the league will also use 0 and 0. Does that make sense? Lol

That's exactly what I did in my game today. I'll update the first post to reflect that tomorrow.

DO you by any chance have a realistic slider set for Legend?

I do not, but give them a shot. The AI might be too difficult at the plate, but I bet most everything else will match up as they deal mostly with baseball physics.

Streaming my Tigers daily franchise. We're 34-39 and just traded for Pedro Alvarez. We'd be eyeing him for a bit on Pittsburgh's trade block, and after they made a move to add Kendrys Morales, we pounced.

Sent Al Albeqerque, another minor league starter and Bruce Rondon. We also got back a filler minor league SS.

Would I NEED to change both CPU and user Stamina to zero after each game? Or would changing just CPU work?

I would think just the AI, but I have been doing both before and after each game. This works fine with RTTS too, but I'd advise "joining" the game right away, making the changes, and then advancing to your next appearance.
