I have a question about pitch count, as it seems like pitch count in the game is a lot lower than in real life. Like im often pitching in the 7th inning with a p.c of only 60s-70s (is that normal, or fixable, or we just change the stamina to deal with that)

    Thanks
What are your strike % looking like? I use an "honesty" policy on the first pitch with hot zones on fade--the rule is that I place the left analog stick where I want it before selecting the pitch. Once the pitch is selected--no matter what--I do not adjust, just pitch.

Also, it depends on the starter. Opening Day, for instance, has aces (even on the Orioles and Twins!) going, and those guys typically throw more strikes overall.

      Gotta check tonight. Thanks thou

The other parts of the game feel good. One more question, do you think its ok to play on the same sliders but with the difficulty of pitching on legend?

Also, whats your opinion on adjusting the fielder run speed to 0 to try and simulate more bloop hits and gap doubles?

      Thanks

I have not tried legend yet, but I assume it'd be similar to adjusting a slider or two. Give it a shot and let us know.

As for the bloop hits, I had it set to zero last year, but this year I feel the game plays best at 4. Keep playing, and you'll see the variety. That's a credit to the game though more than any one slider set.

Great data, Mike! Do you think 70% is too high of a strike percentage? I always try to get the AI to throw in the 60's, but maybe my thinking is not correct? Of course, sample size is the major factor. I fall into the trap of this thinking too much (which produces slideritis!).....Play a game and see a percentage like 70%, so I either change it after the game or I play again and have it in the back of my mind the whole time instead of just playing!

Don't do it. There are so many factors that go into that. If you're seeing too high of strike %s, don't swing so much

Re: Mike Lowe MLB Show '16 Sliders

Im really liking this slider set, only problem Ive had is that there have been a lot of home runs, and not many doubles. Im not really concerned with the amount of home runs, it may be due to the fact that i am using the Cubs who are a home run hitting team...but the lack of doubles is a little irritating.
Its like every hit is either a homerun or a soft single. Any potential fixes?

I did lower the hitting difficulty to dynamic b/c I was really rusty and not ready for HoF, and Im putting up fairly realistic numbers on All-Star now outside of the HR/2B ratio
              Chicago Cubs
              Michigan Wolverines

              Thanks Peyton. #18

Where are you ranked in all offensive categories? HR, AVG, 2Bs, etc.

Re: Mike Lowe MLB Show '16 Sliders

I've gone through a couple of pages, but just wondering a few things:

1.) Are you seeing a variety of runs and hits results between games with the OP sliders?
2.) How might we adjust the sliders to fit Allstar for both hitting/pitching? And what if we only wanted HoF hitting or just HoF pitching?

Thanks a lot! Might be giving these a try tomorrow as I've had trouble finding a sweet spot. Four game losing streak to a 5 game blowout winning streak after only adjusting a slider or two. May need to just try a new set (which is why I've come to yours!)

I've seen a lot of questions like this, and guys, give it a try if you'd like. There's no crystal ball that will tell anyone what a substantial change like this would do.

My first inclination, however, is to say don't do it. Think of it as reading the prescription label on a medication, and wondering if you should try adding in some rubber cement, oatmeal, or a McDonald's chicken nugget. Do what the label (first post) says, or make a subtle adjustment where needed.

                        Through 23 games I am ranked 23rd in AVG (.239), 8th in Runs (103), 19th in Hits (187), T-23rd in 2B (29), and 2nd in HR (40).

This is actually a little better than I was expecting...I guess i should have looked at the data before jumping to conclusions

I think I might make a slight adjustment with power, and see how it plays out. I guess this is just the identity of my virtual Cubs team.

I forgot to mention, I'm manually simming a day and then quickly checking for any CG/SO. I'll let some through, but will resim the vast majority of them. So far just a 1-hitter by Kershaw on Opening Day.

Tried with legend pitching yesterday, and I can say that is a really good challenge for people who find HOF a bit to easy. Although strike out numbers are a bit low

Im having issues with pickoff at 8 though, as it seems like the CPU picks off everytime i try to take a lead.

That's the idea. You need to be willing to wager on a steal without getting a huge lead. It's still possible, but there's definitely a risk.
