Plug them in and give me feedback as I don't play on HOF and they are not tested on it.

But go for it and let me know after 12-15 games how it went!

If you notice the sliders do not deviate too far from All-Star default. The slight tweaks we make truly bring out the player ratings even more. Default All-Star plays a great game....these sliders simply enhance a certain approach with the settings we play on (Auto field, manual throw, classic pitching and timed hitting).

BTW I highly recommend anyone who has never learned how to use assisted base-running (default running controls not classic running controls) (as opposed to auto base running) to just practice as it is so easy to use especially with the visual they give you now on screen. It just takes a little effort to flick the stick to the runner you want to highlight and press the button of the base you want them to go to or retreat to. Plus learning to use R1 and L1 for all runners to retreat or go. Assisted will have the lead runner ready to tag while the runner behind them would go half way on fly balls etc. It get's it right 99% of the time. If I see a super deep fly ball and want both runner to tag I simply highlight the runner behind the lead runner and press the button of the base I want him to retreat to to get ready to tag as well. A double tag up I would then hold down L1 the moment the OF catches the ball. Then highlight the one where I see the throw going to to get ready to make a slide (even though I have sliding on assisted, I like to choose my slides sometimes on close plays)

It's not that hard and well worth the effort of controlling your base-runners and keeping you involved the game. I also love manual fielding (when I play online) but this slider set is strictly designed for auto fielding with manual throwing.

Re: Armor & Sword & Marino's MLB The Show 16 Timed/Classic Simulation Sliders

Hi Armour. I used you sliders last year and had very realistic results and had a wide variety of scores. I was able to score 10+ runs some games and then get blown out in other games. I've played around 10 games with your sliders this year and am not experiencing the same results as last year. I'm not questioning your slider set at all, but my games are very low scoring with very few hits. I have played on AllStar for years. Are things harder this year? Does it just take more than10 games to get used to hitting? Are your sliders designed for "better" players? Thanks

Burgess, directional hitting seems to perform a little differently this year, hard to put a finger on what has changed. Some are struggling with getting their bats going this year, myself included.

Thanks for the quick reply Armour. I guess I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one struggling. Do you think there might be some slider adjustments needed? I have to admit that I have considered going back to the 2015 version

When using the clean screen is there a way to see the previous pitch/swing info? Don't know if there a button you can press because I know pressing R2 doesn't do anything but just show strike zone

No there is not a way to see the previous swing info. Only the location of the pitches during your current AB. You can see the previous AB pitch location before the first pitch is thrown in your next AB by holding back R2.

This is a totally different way of playing and takes away some for lack of a better term crutches the game affords you. But once you get used to it....it really feels more like your stepping in the box and facing down the pitcher. I can tell you if you stick with it you will become a much better hitter and it feels highly rewarding.

Also before the your first AB pause the game and look at your opposing pitchers repertoire and what color the pitch is assigned too so you can know on the previous pitch/location screen what he has thrown you. I know it's harder....but it is a clean screen/simulation approach.

If it is not your cup of tea...totally understandable, just know the pitch info button will be visible when turned on in conjunction with previous swing info.

What I have done this year is created two profiles based on Armor's sliders. They both have the same slider set, but one is my Spring training/BP set, which includes all the feedback there is to improve my game. Then I have a Regular Season profile which is Armor's clean version. Which includes nothing of that. Just a little wrinkle I put in this year.

Is anyone else having trouble hitting? I was using the clean screen for a while but I decided to turn on the swing info just to see how my timing is and on just about every good swing time it was either a foul ball, ground out, or pop up. I've played about 10 games with the swing info on and every time the same outcome happens. I don't swing at the first pitch and usually let the pitcher throw a few before swinging.

I sure am. I just created a post "is it time to waive the white flag" I've always played on AllStar with timed hitting. I have never had trouble hitting until this year. Like you, I very rarely strike out and my contact is usually good, but I can't hit. I've played about 10 games and the most runs I have scored is 3. I've hit a total of 2 homers. I want to start my franchise but I don't like the results I'm getting yet. I'm seriously thinking of going back to 2015

I do strike out but what gets me is that the foul balls, pop ups, and ground outs are happening to players that have a good contact rating. I can understand it happening every now and then but it's like all the time.

Same with me. Timing is good but very rarely do I make solid contact. I think I have hit one double off the wall since I've started playing. I'm playing as the mets right now vs KC. Score is 0-0 after 5 innings. I've got 3 singles and the cpu has 1 single. I've struck out 5 times, mostly chasing changeups. The cpu isn't hitting either.
