Can you give a little color around the reasons? Or just going gut feel here?

I'm fully onboard with what you're doing so I just like to get the human side of the numbers.

          Re: Armor & Sword & Marino's MLB The Show 17 Timed/Classic Simulation All-Star Slider

Love the sliders so far A&S! I haven't played in a few iterations of the Show (previously played every one them.

My biggest issue is patience at the plate. I see a great pitch coming and swing and 9 times out of 10 it is in play. So if it is the first or second pitch that is good, I swing but that ultimately leaves the opponent starting pitcher with about 30 pitches through 4 innings.

Anyone else have this problem? Do you guys just set up house rules to NOT swing at the first pitch that looks good?

Disclaimer - I have not tried the newest sliders to see if that helps

Sometimes I take the first two pitches of every at bat for the first 3 inning. Ill take another if its 2-0 usually. Just to get their pitch count up, and im not the best at seeing the ball. It helps sometimes.

              HELP:

How do I get my sliders to stay that way so that I don't have to update them every single time I enter a game? I updated them in the menus and saved them but I shouldn't have to load before every game or readjust them at the beginning of every game, should I?

I've been playing the Show for 6 years and have never had this problem before. (Or I have and I forgot about it and forgot how to fix it)

I don't see enough good, hittable pitches that won't result in weak contact to have this issue.

I'm looking middle-in and if it's not there early in the count, I won't swing. Especially if it's off-speed. Sometimes I'll control my swing and swing later at stuff on the outside part of the plate if it's a fastball and try to hammer a double into the corner.

I will follow up with this question tonight.

I appreciate this question too. I have to grill some dinner and my son has a huge game tonight vs the #3 ranked 12U team in our state. He is seriously jacked up for it.

Tonight we stream more and get these sliders fully tested with these tweaks which so far look and play great.

In play now games you always have to load the sliders before the game.

In franchise all you need to do is load them once into your franchise. And they stick.

I create my gameplay set and my Quick Manage/sim set and load in the quick manage set for any simulated games on my schedule before I play my chise games. I do that so I get the ticker showing scores around the league.

Which BTW has a bug for league leaders.....it does not have the category for league leaders LOL......I am sure it will get fixed on patch one.

Could I just set my sliders up for quick manage/simmed games and then when I actually get into the game change the sliders?

Thanks I actually have been playing play now games so that explains it. The only time of the year I do is when I'm waiting for OSFM which is why I thought I hadn't had this issue before, because it's been a year! Thanks again.

                              Re: Armor & Sword & Marino's MLB The Show 17 Timed/Classic Simulation All-Star Slider

Just played a great game between the Dodgers and Giants at AT&T Park. Turned the Power sliders down to 4 for both user and CPU.

                              Dodgers 5 - 2 Giants

Giants had 6 hits, including 1 double from Denard Span that nearly scraped over the wall into McCovey Cove for a homer. The rest were scattered but firmly struck singles.

My Dodgers had 9 hits, including 3 doubles, 2 of which hugged the LF foul line from Puig and Toles and a well hit line drive into the LF gap between Parker and Span by Turner that just evaded a diving catch.

Corey Seager hit an opposite field insurance HR in the 8th off Hunter Strickland. Caught a 98 MPH fastball on the outside edge of the plate and sent it over the LF wall at 385 feet (about 3-4 rows back).

There was a good variety of hits, most of them quite solid, but the ball wasn't flying out the park. Yes, it's a single game sample size but it just felt so much like a proper game.

Kenta Maeda did a good job of keeping hitters off balance and struck out 5 through 6 innings, walking 3. I strung a few big hits off Jeff Samarzija in the 4th inning that bought in 3 runs and he was out of the game before the 5th even though he struck out 6 in his day of work. Managed to run up his pitch count quite high as he walked 3 as well.

I actually have the CPU contact at 6 and CPU timing at 7 to avoid striking them out too much. I had solid hits at 4 for the CPU (I don't wanna feel like I'm having too easy a time with the CPU offence and really like to feel like I have to work and stay out the middle to have success) and 3 for the user.

Power at 4 felt good, because I saw some firmly struck balls that went for 2 bags and a wall scraper homer. In previous games those could've been 3 450+ bombs.

Gonna continue with these sliders for at least another 9 games to give me a 10 game sample size, whilst keeping track of all my stats, including HR distance.

Will try them out in a more hitter friendly park with less able teams as well. Maybe the Twins @ White Sox next.

I've settled on 6/7 for pitch speed and offset zoom for batting camera and am starting to find my stroke. I wish I could see my batter model (bat and top of head get cut off, obviously) but it's not too immersion killing. Loving how the game is playing so far this year
