I have a plethora of classic rosters....simply an amazing selection of incredible retro baseball. I also have 4 great franchises going (1987 Yankees Quest For Donny Baseball Year 3, The Matheny Manifesto Fantasy Cardinals Franchise Year 2, 2017 Yankees Year 2, and soon The Cleveland Indians "Jobu’s Rum” Fictional Franchise Year 1).

I am so pleased with MLBTS17. I still love this game as much as the day it was released.

I feel like I have my ultimate Baseball Console baseball game, chock full of simulation greatness, incredible retro rosters, and simply years of replayabiity.

    It’s that great.

So enjoy this game everyone......I know I am for probably years to come. I am pretty much coming to the end of the “yearly” sports game cycle now for the PS4.

I really think the development teams of 2K and The Show have maxed it out and IMO are stretched thin anyway with making so many different modes to cater to different types of sports gamers.

I think the push for us for even deeper franchise modes.......is done. I really believe that now.

So with that. I will still be active here in this slider thread for those that decide to stick with The Show 17 next season vs picking up 18.
i have to say i agree with you Armor,

ive been re-writing this baseball year into my very own franchise, catching the great storylines such as:
Giancarlos massive HR output to the rookie class of bombers ( judge, bellinger, hoskins, olsen etc...)
Sale's 300 K performance, and many more... ( took a great deal of time ) but well worth it
i cant wait to get into the offseason and begin my own quest to a world series with the Jays.. i thing ill be playing '17 for a very long time
    Toronto Maple Leafs
    Baltimore Ravens
    Toronto Blue Jays

Hey A&S I have a quick question. I was pitching on hall of fame but my aces were getting rocked. I changed to all star, and it seemed to be pretty realistic. But, My last three or four games have been downright dominant. I think the twins went like 18-105 in our series. But i noticed that I've been holding the button down right before vibration, where as before, i may not have been. So my question is, how much of a difference is there between your hof and all star pitching? Baseball is weird and it's hard to know if I'm just on a dominant stretch or if i made it too easy. I hate to start over but i don't wanna continue if I'm going to whoop everyone this way.

Stick with HOF. Aces get rocked and can go through tough stretches like any star player can IRL.

I always say The Show is the type of game (as well as NBA 2K) where if you are not going to play at least 100-120 games......you just can’t truly appreciate the absolute simulation they bring to the table and the true reversion to the mean, when it comes to streaks (hot or cold) and statistics.

I was far too dominant on All-Star on 17. It finally got to the point for me with Classic pitching where I mastered All-Star level pitching on classic to the point of Cy Young.

HOF was a revelation for me this year on 17.

I would stick with it....and learn not to always throw strikes to good hitters.....do not be afraid to walk a guy. There will be an adjustment period on HOF pitching. And you will fear great hitters.....I had zero fear of any hitter on All-Star this season.

I've gotten into a groove with these sliders, first time all year, but only with the following changes:
Bump human contact up to 6 (good balance with the rest of the sliders)
Knock injuries down to 7 or 8 (four starting pitchers injured in five games at 9. Completely ridiculous).

Was that playing the game every pitch. Or simulating the game?

That’s never happened to me in over 300 games played.....so if it happened to you.......rare, rare air.

Simulated games you must turn it back down to 5.

Every pitch my sir. I only simulate the AA and AAA games. Those were just pitching injuries, I had several fielders go out as well. After playing about 60 games on 9 it's just too high IMO.

Hey A&S, I am a long-time user of your sliders, but haven't pulled the trigger on buying MLBTS 17.

Question for ya, since you said you are so into this years version that you aren't going to buy MLBTS 18.

I have read so much about the hiccups concerning bunting, AI's in-game player substitutions and passed balls.

Are you not experiencing any of those 3 problems, or have you just learned to deal with those shortcomings?

                    Thanks,

Insanely overblown. This game is incredibly good.

So much good so much great it smothers some little occasional hiccups.

If you love baseball this is the game to own.

Plus the plethora of rosters this year (classic, fictional and modern day OSFM) is amazing.

                              Hey A&S,

Wow, just wow! I knew visually the game would blow me away, and I figured from years of experience the roster set would be what it is (great), but man oh man - the gameplay is just unreal! Yes, the bunting seems to come off the bat way too hard (i executed one with a player ranked 85 in bunting) and yes, the balls in the dirt that allow baserunners to advance seemed to happen a couple times too many, but other than that this game w/ your sliders blew me away. I can't believe how smooth the players act and perform and something about the hitting is just so fluid. Obviously the types of hits and ball trajectories are something none of the other MLBTS years can touch.

Here is a quick rundown of my 1st game Braves (me) vs Mets (cpu). BTW, SunTrust park looked phenomenal.

                              Atl 8r 12h 0e
                              Nym 4r 10h 0e

                              Foltynewicz v Wheeler

                              Nym 3 bb 10k
                              Atl 1bb 6k

                              Atl 8 1b, 1 2b, 1hr
Nym 71b, 1 2b, 3hr (none of them cheap, all 3 were hanging breaking balls)

                              Atl 59% strikes 159 pitches
                              Nym 64% strikes 121 pitches

                              Atl 11 fouls 18 miss 57 swung
                              Nym 31 foul 17 miss 72 swung

interesting that I didn't see Batting Averages listed post game in the pitcher anaylsis screen - that entire column was blank - was that a one game glitch or an overall game glitch that never got patched?

There are some OSD glitches. But like I said overall this is by far the best version of console baseball I have ever played!!
