Sorry, Mike, it's been a while since I checked the FP. Was it just the control and consistency changes for hum pitching you changed?

What number post has the 30 team control instructions along with sim vs play slider settings?

Yes. Most recent changes always in parentheses.

Post one, also in parentheses. Or, I do it in nearly every video stream I've put up on YouTube.

Anybody that uses quick counts and classic pitching, what adjustments need to be made to these sliders?

Lost the last two of the 3-game Rangers series, but we have reached the 100 games mark at exactly 50-50.

I also picked up a PS4 Pro today, so will continue the franchise after I get things up and running.

Re: Mike Lowe MLB The Show '17 Sliders

Last night, between the July 30-31st period, the Marlins surprisingly completed four relatively minor trades:

Cardinals send benched and disgruntled 1B Matt Adams for SP Justin Nicolino

The rebuilding Reds send C Tucker Barnhart and 2B Juan Perez for RP Jose Leclerc and CF Thomas Jones

Blue Jays send 2B Christian Lopes for C A.J. Ellis (Russell Martin is out for the season and they were asking for Ellis as a backup C)

First place Cleveland was looking to dump the expiring contract of Boone Logan since he was their 3rd lefty bullpen pitcher. We sent them CL Severino Gonzalez and we also afwuired 1B Nellie Rodriguez in the deal

After the Reds won the 4th and final game of the series to avoid a sweep, we now sit 3.5 games back of the wildcard and 11 games back of the division at 53-51.

We now start a tough home series against the division leading Nationals.

We wanted to add some starting pitching, but the asking prices were just too high for a team who is still a long-shot to make the post season. The deals we made were mostly AAA fodder for either expiring contracts or in the case of Barnhart, someone who can fill a bench role beyond this season. All told, we added 3 new players to the MLB roster.

I have a question. How did you initiate the trades? I know the AI does not offer you trades when you do 30 team control. Do you search the deals primarily through the trade preference or trading block?

I try and work from the trade block, but then I also take into consideration the teams' record and standings; if they are close to or in a playoff position, I don't want to be trading for one of their SP or a guy who is an intricate part of their lineup. When I got Carlos Santana, he was riding CLE's bench, not even a platoon. Same thing with Matt Adams for STL (who hit his first HR as a Marlin in our last game, a 4-3 loss to the Nationals).

So I work from the block, but I also then will ask the AI (in the trade screen) to suggest some trades that will work. I exclusively work within what they are asking for, but might try and grab another smaller piece in the deal as well as a thrown in (usually for minor league depth somewhere).

So trade block for both guys I want and also to see who wants my guys, and then I play around with the suggest feature.

So after 59 games my Astros are 37-22. I track my BABIP and the CPU’s BABIP and mine is .313 and the CPU’s is .289. The first 52 games I gave up 89 HR’s in 52 games. Averaging 1.71 per game which is a little above average by maybe 0.30-0.40. The CPU had a BABIP of .260. But I felt that there were a lot of games the CPU would get most of their runs from the HR. And they would have a BABIP of around .200 in most games.

I tried to lower the CPU power to 4 and raised their solid hits to 3. In the 7 games the cpu hit 4 HR. I felt their offense got too weak. Do you have any suggestions? Or should I just go back to the OP settings?

I'm betting a lot of this has to do with your ballpark. Minute Maid will impact HRs (up) and averages (down).

You mention the AI having a BABIP of .289 and then .260? Which one is it? That's a big difference.

I'd keep power and solid contact where I have it, and lower contact. How is your swing/miss rate?

Oh that was a typo, sorry about that. After the first 52 games it was .280 and when I lowered power and raised solid hitting it raised it to .289. They were getting more hits but less HR. Thanks for the suggestion I’ll try it.

And for the swing/miss rate I can’t tell cause I use quick counts. I don’t think I can track that correct? My starting rotation has a average of 8.19 K/9.

You're probably good then. Your K/9 might actually be a bit high, but nothing ridiculous by any stretch.

Seen something that I haven’t seen before. On my Astros franchise I was selecting my pitcher Charlie Morton. Now I have seen messages come up saying they injured themselves in warmups. But tonight I got a message saying that Charlie Morton called the front office and that he will not be able to come to the stadium cause he has a family emergency. And that he will be back tomorrow.

I was worried that I lost Correa for a significant time due to a finger injury. It said he can miss a couple days to a couple months. After the game it didn’t even come up so he’s fine. I have injuries at 9 and only had players out for 1-6 days.
