HOF before I switched to DD. the stats were even better before switching back to default and getting even worse since I went to DD and as of right now the level at which I'm pitching is Veteran + cause I dropped all the way down

I played a game before I went to BJJ tonight and beat Texas 5-4 in a pretty exciting game. Didn't notice anything out of the ordinary, except my pitches would miss my aim point by a significant distance at times. But, could be a rough outing and/or my still getting used to pitching form the catchers view.

Played a couple more games last night going back to HOF pitching, only changing CPU solid hits to 4. Liked the early results as I was beginning to feel like AS+ pitching with CPU contact at 6 was still yielding too many strikeouts. Going to play a few more games to see how different skill level pitchers are affected, but definitely giving this serious consideration.

Another thing that seemed to happen with the patch is that directional hitting now seems more 'selective' in terms of when to use it. I was using influence on every swing and post patch I just wasn't making solid contact. I played a game and only used directional influence in certain circumstances (hit and run, hitting behind the runner, and sac fly situations). Everything else I didn't influence and just tried to time my swing. Had more solid hits, and after going 3 games with only 1 HR and no doubles, I hit 2 doubles and 1 HR out of 6 total hits in this game. Obviously a one game sample is not enough to draw a conclusion, but I am going to stick with this approach for a few more games as I like Vet+ hitting and don't want to fool with the sliders anymore than I have to.

I played the last game of the Rays series. I lost 6-1. I played on Veteran hitting with hall of fame pitching. I put CPU solid Hits at 4.

              Rays 6 13 1
              Red Sox 1 9 1

              Rays: 2 2B, 1 HR, 1 BB, 7 K
              Red Sox: 4 2B, 3 K

The next game the Red Sox travelled to St Louis for a quick 2 game series. I lowered user timing to 1 and Human foul frequency to 3. I pitched on Default All Star Plus. It was Reyes vs Rodriguez. Reyes has been awesome this year for the Cardinals with a ERA under 2. He actually finished this game 1-2 with a 1.67 ERA. I scored the eventual winning run on a basehit in the 3rd. I won 1-0.

              Red Sox 1 2 0
              Cardinals 0 3 0

No extra base hits for either team. I actually struck out 13 times. Yes, on Veteran hitting. I do feel that I'm getting less hard hit balls in the 2 games.

Red Sox played the final game of the 2 game series against the Cardinals. Wright took the mound for the Sox and Wacha went for the Cardinals. It was another pitcher's dual. The Red Sox would get a game tying hit in the 8th inning to make it a 1-1 game. The Cardinals would finally win it on a a game winning single from Grichuk in the 12th to win 2-1.

                Red Sox 1 8 0
                Cardinals 2 5 0

                Red Sox: 1 2B, 2 BB, 12 K
                Cardinals: 1 HR, 3 BB, 7 K

I had 12 K in 12 innings. I raised human timing back to 2 and put fastball speed at 6. I was behind on some fastballs and that makes you a little more unbalanced on offspeed. I started the game pitching on All Star Plus. In the 8th inning I went up to Hall of Fame with CPU power and solid Hits at 4. I might raise the power back up to 5 though.

I have 4 games in with HOF pitching now and the CPU hasn't really abused me power wise. One game with 2 HR's and 3 games with 1, with power at default, so I am happy there. The thing that is giving me the biggest challenge is playing with pitch speed at 5/5. I am still out in front too much, but I like the way it forces me to approach at bats now.

Game 1 of the series at Oakland With Sale on the mound. I had a comfortable lead at 4-1 in the 7th inning. Sale ran into problems in the 7th and allowed 2 runs to score to make it 4-3. The bullpen blew the lead in the 8th and was 4-4 until the 13th inning. Rajai Davis hit a 1 out double and scored from 2nd on a deep fly ball to CF for the winning run.

Finished the 4 game series with the Athletics. Man their stadium is boring. I won the last 3 games and took 3 out of 4. I am still pitching on All Star Plus on all default.

                        Red Sox 5 10 0 2 2B, 1 3B, 2 HR, 2 K
                        Athletics 0 7 0 1 BB, 4 K

                        Red Sox 10 12 1 2 2B, 3 HR, 3 BB, 4 K
                        Athletics 6 14 1 2 2B, 1 3B, 1 HR, 8 K

On this game I lowered Human timing to 1 and raised Human solid hits to 6 with Human foul frequency at 3.

                        Red Sox 4 8 0 2 2B, 1 3B, 4 BB, 9 K
                        Athletics 2 5 1 2 2B, 1 HR, 2 BB, 7 K

I'm pretty happy with my pitching stats cause I don't feel like I'm striking too many out. I feel like it's more of a challenge for me to do Allstar plus at default than hall of fame with sliders toned down.

As for pitch speed, I have been a little early on offspeed but I think it's cause I have fastball speed at 6 so offspeed looks slower.

Stats look good overall, have you tried pitching from the catchers view? That increased not only my walks, but forced me to take more chances over the plate.

No I haven't. But I also use Meter pitching so I'm thinking maybe I should lower the human Control one to compensate. Maybe I'll try a game pitching behind the catcher.

The Rangers came into Boston and they had Darvish go up against Wright. It was a pitchers dual as I scored on a RBI groundout in the 2nd and they tied it 1-1 in the 7th on a HR from Napoli. In the 8th inning they went to their bullpen and I lead off with 2 singles. Betts bunted them over and they walked Moreland to load the bases with 1 out. Frazier came up with a huge 2 run single down the line to make it 3-1. Kimbrel came in and nailed down his 16th save. I went to Hall of Fame and CPU solid Hits to 4 in the 5th inning.

                              Rangers 1 6 0

Ok my first game since the new patch. It wasn't pretty but I will take the win.

Aaron Nola had a no-no going against me until (You guessed it) The pitcher Jake Arrieta broke it up in the 5th.

                                PHI 0 4 0
                                CHC 1 4 0

                                PHI - GIDP, 0 BB's, 14 K's
                                CHC - 1 Double, SF, 4 BB's, 5 K's

Philly helped a lot with the no walks for me they swung at a lot of balls out of the strike zone. I mean a lot.
