Actually a larger gap is going to create less K's as it makes off-speed pitches to easy to differentiate. The closer your pitch speed settings the more deceptive off-speed can be.
I personally use 10 for FB and 9 for Off-speed.
I will say this when you start making your 2nd trip through the order use the hell out of that R3 button. You can rack up plenty of K's both swinging and looking on this set. But you must set it up, and I'm not just talking about seeing it up in that at bat. You have to set them up all game long, every at bat has to tie together. Even if you throw a perfect Chase pitch if it's not set up the CPU probably isn't swinging.
Did you get him looking at a curve last time? My first pitch this at bat has a good chance of being one out of the zone then.
I'm gonna let you guys in a secret I've discovered with pitching in this year and last year's game, at least for the video game.
Your most important pitch for K's and setting guys up is going to be the high and away FB. If you can locate this on the high outside corner you can get guys swinging, get guys looking and set up every breaking pitch you have for both sides of the plate.
It's kinda hard to describe my approach hopefully my main wi-fi will be back on soon and I can twitch a game so you all can see how I pitch. (Location and pitch selections wise as I use analog).
Also if tour using the clean screen and having trouble throwing walks turn the vibration off, I was going to tweak the control and consistency ratings to get more walks but I tried that first and it fixed it for me without having to touch sliders.
