Just curious to those that struggle giving up walks and use the clean screen approach, do you pitch to the edges on every pitch? I use the fade ball marker and the strike zone on but I normally am aiming for the corners or outside them and have had realistic control stats.

Hitting on All Star is just too easy. I was loving it for a while but with my braves I was number one in average home runs RB i's runs after 32 games. We all know that's not realistic lol. The last 10 games I've been playing on call of fame hitting which is a greater challenge for sure.

        Hey DJ,

Before you move up to HOF try lowering human solid hits to 3 on All-Star and see how it goes.

But I can tell you HOF hitting is the bees knees this year with the OP set. The CPU pitching AI is freaking awesome. The best ever in the series. But before you do it...try that and see how it “feels”.

Armor, have you thought of stamina's?

I've been using in my MoM franchise and now in my play franchise, Starter 6 and Reliever 4. I seem to to get a good feel from it. Oddly enough it also cuts down on complete games and seem to not extend the reliever as bad. I somehow get good SO/BB ratios from it also. Just another observation if you were on the fence or even thinking about stamina's.

I've played 4 games with this (I know that's a small sample size) but I've played this game long enough to know it wasn't just coincidence. Also, this is further evidence of how good the game is on default Hall of Fame.

I feel like this is that magic combination. I’ve played 20 games in my franchise, and probably half with these exact settings and had some pretty amazing results. I keep wanting a little more challenge from the CPU offense but I haven’t found that happy place but I feel the settings you have here are it.

I found human pitching at 3 control and 4 consistency with the default settings mentioned above is a great place! I lowered my timing to 4 and foul to 3 and get good swing percentages too!!!

Thanks for the feedback. I'll give that tweak a try and see what happens.

Alright so that's a whole turn through the rotation with Classic.

                      Game 1:
                      Luis Severino: 5 2IP 5H 4ER 3BB 8K (L 6-5)

                      Game 2:
                      Masahiro Tanaka: 6.0IP 9H 5ER 1BB 3K (L 5-4)

                      Game 3:
                      C.C. Sabathia: 9.0IP 7H 4ER 1BB 6K (W 8-4)

                      Game 4:
                      Sonny Gray: 5.2IP 6H 4ER 3BB 3K (L 6-5)

                      Game 5:
                      Jordan Montgomery: 6.2IP 3H 0ER 4BB 5K (W 8-2)

I think I'll give Classic at least another turn through the rotation. Can't say I'll stick with it long term but another 5 games at least.

Not sure if anyone else is noticing this but franchise is not recording stats correctly. Maybe its because I'm controlling more than 1 team but it doesnt record some stats. I thought it was a fluke the one game it happened because I had turned my PS4 off in the middle of the game. But it just happened again. I hit 2 HR with Schoop and it says he still only has 1 for the season. I also hit 5 doubles and when you look at the box score it says I only hit 3. Chris Tillman was the starter and went 6+ Innings and it says he has 4IP for the season. This is a HUGE problem if its not just some weird fluke that has happened twice to me already. Check your starting pitchers and make sure they have the correct number of games started. I've played 9 games now so I should have 4 guys with 2 starts and 1 guy with 1 start. For some reason it has Bundy starting 3 games and Tillman only 1. Its like they gave Bundy Tillmans stats for the game.

The game has always kept less than perfect stats in my experience, but I've never noticed it nearly as bad as what you are saying. But this is why I am my own scorekeeper. I keep score myself, and as a result, I have perfect records of every pitch for 162 games. And I know what should be ruled an error or hit, unlike the game. So I rarely even look at the stats in the game anymore.

While i do like ratings to have a impact but i also like to have some control and i fell like you don't really with classic. But i mean people talk about sim and don't use zone for hitting either and i would say that is the closet to sim when it comes to hitting has not only do you have to time your swing right but just like in real life you can have good timing but swing over or like under a ball.

I love classic.. once you understand your pitchers release point you do feel more in control of where the balls ends up depending on his ratings. The key is to have control consistency at at least 4 each. There’s really no other way I’d rather pitch. I love the dim feel and look of classic. But like someone else said to each their own and you really can’t go wrong with any interface on this game
