This is probably my last game with Classic pitching, too many pitches just miss way too far away from where you aim at. I pitched in the minors and I've never felt on the mound as out of control as i do with Classic pitching.

So im going back to Analog. Gonna raise my difficulty back to legend+, and drop control to 3 and consistency to 4.

I lowered my pitch speed and I'm still seeing a ton of opposite field hits. I rarely get a pull swing or a hit to the pull side of the field. Do you guys think its because its a right handed pitcher vs right handed batters? Im using zone hitting FYI......

Probably more to do with where your getting your PCI too, but most of us are Directional hitters in here.

No it more than likely has nothing to do with righty vs. Righty unless you just don't see the ball as well from that side. Try changing your camera.

Idk its weird because I've played on the same camera angles in every other version and never ran into this issue. Idk what to do its kind of irritating because i like to see variety. Even when I have good timing and good contact its opposite field

That definitely sounds like it's coming from where you're hitting the ball in the PCI. If your hitting the outer of the PCI you're probably still gonna go the other way a lot.

I can't really help you out with Zone hitting too much as I hate that mechanic.

Okay I've decided since to go ahead and give Classic at least a full turn through the rotation before I decide.

So Sabathia, Gray, and Montgomery still have to start with it.

I just can hardly ever locate with classic, seems I usually tend to even miss completely away from where I aimed.

A question though, on Classic are we aiming where the pitch is starting or where it's ending?

Another words do I need to account for break or no?

I did turn my vibration back on for these turns at Classic.

Yes and yes. Keep in mind....you can become really good at Classic (but mastering is not going to really happen as dice roll ratings will be a big factor which is why I love it). It takes practice and getting a feel for every singleton of pitchers on your staff.

                  Stick with it.

I thought it was like that was just getting conflicting results lol.

                    Thanks Armor.

                        Stick with it.

That's why I love classic. It's possible to master every other mode. Not classic.

I'll put another thing out there on classic pitching....at least how I look at things....

Pitchers in real life "add and subtract" from their pitches by varying their arm speed when throwing. But the arm velocity also impacts the spin rate, break and the angle of the pitch (not just the actual velocity of the pitch).

With classic pitching, the button press duration essentially acts as the means for varying your arm velocity. You hold for the max duration (~1 sec) your arm velocity will be maxed for the pitch while simply tapping the button will be the slowest (allowable) arm velocity...the in-between values blending things. This is the key...even with a 2 or 3 pitch pitcher, I can vary the "look" the batter gets just by varying my "arm velocity" by means of varying the button press duration. If I know I have a guy who will flail at breaking balls; I may throw him two or three of the same pitch type in a row....varying the speed to get different breaks. I just then vary the aimed location a bit to account for the break...so a "soft-tap slider" might be aimed more in the middle of the plate to get it to the outside corner vs a "max slider" which I will aim more on the edge. From there, I just mix and match the pitch types, locations, and so on to try to set-up the batter.
Play the games you love, not the games you want to love.

I'm getting real tired of my bullpen giving up at least 3 runs every game. I am Oakland. The one good thing bout their team is the bullpen but yet every reliever that comes in gives up at least 1 run. It's getting annoying. I also seem to never be able to locate any breaking pitches. When I want them for a strike it's a ball, when I try and throw it out of the zone it ends up right down the middle that gets crushed for a home run. So frustrating.

Are you doing the eight warmup pitches? If so, do you throw any breaking pitches during them. I believe that those pitches help add a bit of confidence in the pitch if thrown for strikes.
