I don't usually go down for sliders at all, but all star is way too easy for directional this year, and hall of fame is popup city. So the solution, get your dynamic difficulty to All star+ hitting, lock it in, and turn Hum contact down to 4. This is what I've been playing with and it works great. It still has that "out of the box feel" without being overly punishing or just relying on luck of the draw to get a hit. If you square one up you'll still hit it well, but you don't get as many meatballs on all star+ that makes a big difference. I have my pitch speed set at 9/8. I still don't strike out as much as I'd like so YMMV on that.

With classic pitching on HOF, the CPU offense is just inept at default for me. They don't hit for power, they don't hit for average, and I hardly ever walk them. So I fixed all 3 problems. Hum pitch control down to 3, CPU solid hits and power both to 7. They still feel a little weak to me offensively but I'm at an easy part of my schedule, we'll see when I start playing powerhouse teams.

I've been having such great series against the CPU just with these small adjustments.

After playing a few games I feel that starting pitcher stamina may need to go up a notch or 2. I’ve had the message that my starter is getting tired around the 75/80 pitch mark which seems a little early. Has anyone else any thoughts on this?

The "getting tired" message is usually my cue to get someone up in the pen if it's the 6th inning or earlier (from the 7th on I always have someone warming or ready unless it's a shutout or no-hitter going). Also, that message is dependent on a balance between stamina and confidence - meaning that a pitcher with low confidence will get that message earlier than a pitcher with high confidence.

What I'm getting at is, don't stress too much about seeing that message. The 15% mark or so remaining on the stamina bar is when you're reaching the end of a pitcher's day based just on stamina (otherwise he might not recover to full on normal rest in a franchise).

I feel like HoF batting is the way to go. Too many pitchers are just pounding the strike zone and I’m getting too many good hits. I don’t think the sliders need to be adjusted much, just moving from AS to HoF seems to work. I’m on directional hitting.

For some reason I can’t edit my post on mobile. Wanted to add: Also, since I switched to PP, I lowered my pitcher’s control by 1, and might do the same to their consistency. Even on HoF PP I’m seeing too many accurate pitches.

In another thread Armorandsword says the pitch you are trying to bunt needs to be both a good pitch and a lower pitch. Also he says to pull down on the RS , 6 O’clock , to deaden the bunt. If you are trying to drag bunt pull down on Rs to 5 and 7 O’clock to go down the lines. I have not tried this myself but he knows what he’s doing. Lastly he says bunting ratings matter also and that it doesn’t always work to perfection pretty much like it does IRL. Hope this helps

Interested to see if anyone else is on HoF hitting and not seeing much hum power? No home runs for me into my third game and only one that was close...am with the Braves, which is a low power team, but just wondered if I should hold out or whether a one click move made sense.

I've been using the beta sliders today and after a few games I prefer the CPU pitcher control to be at default where it was. Even though it's only one click lower, I'm seeing way too many balls from the CPU. I played a handful of games yesterday with the CPU pitcher control at default and still saw plenty of balls as well. Other than that, the beta sliders seem pretty good to me.

Usually I use Zone but I’ll give directional a shot. What’s the advantage of using directional Vs Zone and did advantage as well?

As someone who struggled on all star in the past, HOF hitting is the way to go.

On the RS? Through the entire bunt attempt? That seems quite hard

Game is great outside the box, started using the beta sliders recently, waiting for the full complete set once armor comes back! Tried to set up at 8/6 for pitch speed but my timing is still way off, too many pop ups.

Had a realistic kinda game my last game, Kelvin Herrera blew the save for the CPU on a grand slam given up to me and Jean Segura in the bottom of the 9th!
