Again. With classic pitching effort on the pitches plays a huge role in stamina and being strategical with your starters effort is paramount. Also relievers that go two straight days with pitching will be tired and you are taking a huge gamble throwing them a third straight day so bullpen management is also critical.

This year close to default or default settings for most sliders has been fantastic.
Yep. I follow this thread because I have a great amount of respect for Armor and the work he does. We have similar views when it comes to playing sports video games. For me, default All-Star is playing dang near perfect. My offense has settled back to normal levels after my hot start (I had talked about moving up to HOF).

Fielder reaction would be something I'd cosmider, but just today, saw several balls go over the head and fall in front of the CPU, so I'm staying put for now.

My advice: Use these sliders as a base, tweak as you see fit and most importantly of all, HAVE FUN!

    This game is amazing.

Personally I use 9 for fastball and 10 for offspeed, but I've been doing that for about 3 years now.
I dunno I find this is the hardest Slider to get right for me to get a balance, and it really does effect the amount of strikeouts, I don't want it to feel comfortable to the stage where I can get everything perfect. I just want balance and variety where I can get some good hits and strikeout and get walks

My biggest flaw with having pitch speed up high is I swing at the high fast balls early and it increases my strikeouts I never pick the high ones. I think if pitch speed is lowered I can get more walks and hits. so I think it's a very important slider. so what you say Armour is exactly what I like too!

I am actually someone that has a visual disability so can be tricky

I do admittedly use quick counts. Wonder if that is making a difference for me. Fell in love with QC last year. This is the only way, due to time, I can play every game and not have to sim.

Probably not effecting you as much as some other sets would as a lot of the sliders are at default (5), but your Strikeout and Walk numbers will be vastly different than someone not using QC.

Just wanted to say, I really can't get on board with the QC idea. I know it makes the games flow faster but the first few pitches of an at bat are literally the most important. It sets the tone, shows pitcher tendency and fatigue.

If I was you, I'd consider moving away from QC and just playing less games. You may not get through 162 but the experience will be raw, authentic baseball - the way it was meant to be enjoyed.

Well I don't use them anymore. Now at one point last year I was using a mix between the 2 during the season but this year I've been all non-QC.

I was just answering his question. I agree with you though, especially since we can carryover through the years now.

I used to be a devotee to QC, because of limited playing time but I've played one game this year; started three quarters of my hitting ABs with 2 strikes and half of my pitching ABs with 2 or 3 balls, and haven't tried them since!

Well here's the first game on 18 of my carryover Reds chise! All settings and sliders exact same as 2.0 except pitch speed at 9/10.

We hit 6 Hrs in this one! The Orioles were starting one of their draft picks from 2018, and we touched him for 3 but the guys just kept drilling long long Hrs in this game, even without get wind blowing out.

HI Armor and fellas. Thanks again Armor for a great set !! . Quick question... My playing time is limited so I'm not the best hitter. My pitching is always better than my batting. So,All Star batting and HOF pitching work great for me. Is the OP sliders just for HOF hitting ? As I see HUM and CPU power @ 6..... Thanks in advance for any help out there.

Ok great question and I updated the OP for those sticking with All-Star hitting.

If you are hitting on All-Star

                      HUM contact - 5
                      HUM power - 5
                      HUM timing - 5
                      HUM Foul Frequency - 3
                      Human Solid Hits - 4

Everything else remains exactly the same and pitch speed sliders are your choice.

Great thanks for the quick response. Hitting on all star,if I wanted just a touch more hits HUM hits per game, would you suggest HUM contact at 6 ? Maybe Timing,or HUM PWR at 6 ? Also,I asked on the Roster thread if there are any OSFM 40 man with NO injuries rosters to start franchise out there. Someone said to check vault, which I haven't had time to do yet. You guys happen to know off hand ? Thanks again !!!

Just wanted to pitch in my two cents on the pitch speed discussion. I agree that it is a personal preference, but I was stuck for years on slow pitch speeds because I felt I needed them, then just this year I decided to raise pitch speed to 10, purely out of curiousity, and I discovered something.

Yes, increasing pitch speed was in some ways more difficult because I just plain had less time to decide to swing the bat, but here is the thing: I didn't realized that when the pitch speed was low, I needed the extra time because of the unnatural way the ball was leaving the pitcher's hand. There was this sort of hitch as the velocity slowed down, and that was causing me to lose ball path, ball trajectory, and ball spin. I literally needed the extra time to re-aquire all of those things. When I bumped up the speed I was genuinely surprised how much I didn't need the extra time anymore, and this is coming from a guy who at one point refused to go past veteran because I felt I couldn't handle the pitch speed increase on All-star.

I still say it's personal choice (I'm at HoF 9 now), but I think you need to try higher speeds just to see if you are like me.

Mind you I'm playing on a pro in faster mode, so that might have something to do with my recent "discovery" of fast pitching settings.
