Re: Armor & Sword & Marino’s MLB The Show 18 Classic/Directional Simulation Sliders

I hit my first 3 homers today. Every homer showed a low camera angle of the hitter trotting to 1st base rather than showing the ball going over the fence. I don’t really like that camera shot. Is it just random? If not, is there a way to change the angle? I prefer to watch the ball going over the fence.

FWIW - I always use Armour’s sliders and play on the level that he suggests for both hitting and pitching (AS hitting and HOF pitching last year). After I hit those 3 homers on AS I moved up to HOF with default sliders (moved solid hits slider back to default for both human and cpu). I trust Armour will make this change as well when he returns from holidays.

Have the same problem with some pitchers like rmiok. @BYU What about pitchers that basically have a quick vibration like Odorizzi?

Tanaka threw a gem, but I pulled him after 6.1 even though he was only at 85 pitches or so. Could have kept going but in a 5-1 game at the time and just walked a guy with one out, I figured it was time to hand it over to the pen. Kahnle, Shreve and Warren finished it off while I tagged the Sox bullpen for 3 more in the 9th.

        Severino @ Kluber next.
        Game 5: Yankees 6/12/1, Indians 0/6/1

        Severino was dominant in a complete game shutout: 9.0 IP, 6 H, 0 ER, 0 BB, 9 K
        Kluber had the same fate as Sale: 5.0+ IP, 7 H, 5 ER, 2 BB, 2 K

5-0 so far in 18 with these sliders

I'm with you guys. Usually a 100% QC guy, but this year have only played one game with them and about 2/3 of my at bats started down 2 strikes! But with the cpu batting, I had a large number of 3 ball starts...don't know if they've changed the logic on it? Have actually really enjoyed playing every pitch but it takes a lot longer and I don't have that much time to play, so the QC option has always been a godsend!

Have you guys been over to the OSFM roster thread? Not trying to start a riot but the are encountering a bug that when they upload roster files no one can download them. Apparently it was present late last year also. They are still proceeding and in contact with sony regarding a fix but still no word yet. Not looking good at the moment but they are confident they will get the rosters out one way or another.

Just had Devon Travis go down for 1-2 months on a shoulder tear. This game is very true to life. What is everyone else saying with injuries at noine?

I'm definitely seeing a lot more variety in games this year. It felt like in 17 every game was "boxed" and played out the same every time.

I think this is the year where SDS just gives up on the offline community entirely. Most, if not all, of their attention will be going towards fixing any problems with DD before they even consider fixing anything else in the game.

I haven't encountered any issues yet and with pitchers that are quick to the plate I hold until the start forward. Fair disclaimer, I have not pitched with Odorizzi yet, so that would be a good test, but again as a rule I have found holding until they begin to stride home helps.

Hey guy's I'm rolling with these again this year. Problem is I'm averaging 10 runs a game with the A's. Would be nice if my A's did that this year but obviously it's not right.
I've lowered my hitting sliders down but it's just off. Before I do another 10 game sample size on HOF can anyone give me some advice, I'm itching to start my franchise. Is running these sliders on HOF the answer? Anyone find a good balance on hitting on AS? Any help would be appreciated.

I've been working on HoF default just fine for now. Until Armor and Marino put out a final version, or I think something looks really out, I don't see much need to change

HOF for both pitching and hitting with pitch speed at 10 for both is golden!

I played a few test games with these sliders on AS prior to starting my franchise. I found AS a bit too easy so I moved up to HOF and moved the hit sliders back to default for both human and cpu Have both pitch speed sliders st 7 and I like me my results after 3 games

I’ve been using the same and it looks really good (and I hated HOF directional hitting last year).

The key (IMO) is to drop the pitch speed settings one notch below what you feel really comfortable with on All Star.

I’ve made the change to HOF hitting and I think I’m gonna up the pitch speed to 8 and reduce my timing to 4. Getting some solid results but still need to give myself a real challenge.

Kinda struggling to get consistent offends from the CPU though? On HOF pitching with solid hits at 6 and just don’t feel that scared when pitching.

                                Any ideas?
